A couple weeks went by and CD didn't plan much on the wedding. Nate wanted some huge event but CD wanted something small and simple. They had both been through that before, and she didn't want to make a fuss about this wedding.

"Come on CD! This is our wedding. It should be big." Nate begged her. They were having lunch together, along with Angela and Raina, like they did most everyday. CD and Nate were having a conversation amongst themselves.

"We have did the big wedding thing! And look how it turned out." CD took a bite of her cheeseburger.

"So what are you saying? If we have a big wedding, we will be cursed?" He asked getting annoyed that she still didn't have full faith in their relationship.

"Yes that and we really can't afford one. We really need a house. Our appartment is way too small." she explained.

"You are right about that." Nate agreed. "I think the land lord is ready to kick us out anyway. He came up to fix our sink and he saw where Hannah drew all over the walls."

"I know! That jerk yelled at me for it!" CD exclaimed.

"He yelled at you!?" He asked angrily.

"Yeah but it's ok." she shrugged. "I told him we would paint it when we moved out and he said he was sorry for yelling."

"Oh ok." Nate said all macho. "I was gonna kick his ass if he didn't apologize."

CD laughed and rolled her eyes. "Riiight"

Nate laughed too and then look over at Raina and Angela, who where chatting away about God knows what. "I love Angela and all, but I REALLY miss having you as a partner."

"Yeah I miss you too." CD laughed. "But Raina is great. She is very fun to talk to. And she gives me fashion advice."

"YOU get fashion advice?" he laughed.

"Yes Ass Face. What, you don't like the way I dress?" she asked offended.

"No I love the way you dress, I just didn't think you were the fashion-advice-taking type." He told her.

"aww you like the way I dress?" she asked suprised.

"Of course." he smirked. "Especially on nights when you put on that little thing I got you from Victoria's Secret."

"Oh shut up." she smirked back and rolled her eyes.


The next day, Jinny and Magda went shopping for baby stuff. CD and Angela went along to get their kids some new clothes too. So, Nate was back at home having a Father-Daughter day with Hannah.

"Hey Hannah, wanna go to the park!" He asked her as he dried her off from her bath.

"Yaaaay! Park!" She exclaimed.

"Ok, first you gotta put on one of these pull-ups and some clothes." He told her.

"No!" she exclaimed and jumped off the bed. She ran to her room and grabbed her pair of little sunglasses Raina had bought for her. She went back to Nate tugged at his pants. "Park!"

"We will go to the park if you put on your clothes." He told her again.

"nooooo." she said and jumped up and down.

Nate pleaded with her for an hour but she still wouldn't let him put any clothes on her. Finally he held her down and put her on a diaper and some overalls. He knew she wouldn't be able to get out of those. Hannah cried and threw a fit. "Sorry but you gotta wear that." Nate said and got her shoes. He grabbed her foot to put the shoe on, but she kicked and spit on him. "Oh my God!" Nate said and looked at her in shock. "Did you just spit on me? On purpose?". Hannah just gave him a dirty look, which happend to be the exact same look CD gave him when she was mad. Nate wasn't sure what to do so he called CD to come help him out.

"What is it?" CD asked as she put down some bags.

"Hannah kicked me AND spit on me!" Nate told her

"Why?" CD asked and picked Hannah up.

"because I put clothes on her and told her she couldn't take them off." he explained.

CD shook her head. "You know, she only does this with you and Mom. You guys let her have her way and never punish her."

"How am I supposed to punish a two year old?" he asked.

"I'll show you..." CD said and led him to the living room. She grabbed a chair and put it in the corner and handed Hannah over to Nate. "Ok, now tell her you are putting her in the corner for being bad and kicking and spitting."

"uhh ok." Nate looked at Hannah. "Ok Hannah, I am putting you in the corner for being a bad girl, and for kicking Daddy, and for spitting on him." He told her sternly.

"nooo." Hannah yelled and tried to squirm from his arms.

"see?" Nate looked at CD.

"make her sit in the corner!" CD commanded him.

Nate put Hannah in the chair. "You better not get up, or you will be in even more trouble."

Hannah crossed her arms and started to pout. Nate and CD sat down on the couch. "what now?" Nate asked

"wait about 10 minutes. It seems short to us, but it is an eternity for a toddler." CD looked at her watch.

"Daddy?" Hannah said softly. Nate turned to see what she wanted.

"Don't do that! She is just going to look at you with those blue eyes and you will give in to her. Just ignore her until her time is up." CD said.

"this is really hard..." Nate said as Hannah started to whimper.

Finally the 10 minutes were over and Nate told Hannah she could get up. She hopped down from the chair and stomped off to her room. "She hates me now!" Nate shook his head.

"no she does't. Give her a few minutes, she will be right back out." CD said and got up. "I'm going back shopping." she smiled and kissed his cheek. Nate told her goodbye and waited for Hannah to come back out. Sure enough, a few moments later Hannah appeared with her shoes in her hand. 'Now she wants to move out..." Nate thought to himself.

She crawled into his lap and gave him a kiss. "I sorry Daddy."

Nate's heart felt like it was going to melt. He smiled and put her shoes on. "ok Princess, let's go to the park!". He grabbed her stroller and they left for a day at the park.

Ok I know it's been almost a YEAR since I posted on my fic, but I have been staying at my Grandparent's place while they are out of the country, and it's really boring and lonely out here in the middle of the woods with no one to talk to but my handycap cat. So I decided to start writing again (it helps to cope with TD being cancelled ). So I am probably a little rusty right now.

A few more years passed, and CD and Nate still hadn't gotten married. Nate got more upset with CD as the years passed. CD would tell Nate and everyone else that she couldn't find the time to plan a wedding with Hannah and her job. Nate finally just started begging her to go to the court house and get it done, but she'd always make an excuse or change the subject.

Jinny and Magda both had two year old boys now, and Teddy would never let Jinny live the bet down. Magda and Gabe divorced a year earlier, so she was now a single Mom with two kids. She made it work though. Ben was old enough now to take care of his little brother when Magda was working late.


CD and Nate got up early for Hannah's first day of school. She had never even been in pre-school or day care, so this was a big deal for them.

"I don't know if I can do this." CD said and started putting her make-up on.

"you have to." Nate said as he shaved. "she's five...it's time for kindegarden."

"But she has never been away from us like that." she sighed.

"yes she has!" Nate laughed. "She's gotta go to school CD."

"but what about all those other kids?" she asked. "the only other kids she has ever been around are our friends kids."

"she goes to the park all the time..." he rolled his eyes. "...and she is very sociable. Everything will be fine, you knew you would have to do this eventually."

"yeah..." CD sighed and finished her make-up. "I just can't believe how fast she is growing. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital."

"I know what you mean." he nodded and combed his hair. "let's go wake her up..."

"ok." CD smiled and the went to Hannah's room.

They each sat down on each side of her bed. CD gentle shook her.

"get up sweetie....it's time your first day of school."

Hannah stirred for a bit and opened her eyes. "yay..." she muttered.

"You can wear your favorite dress..." Nate smiled.

"will I ALWAYS have to wake up this early for school?" she asked and sat up.

"yep.." CD nodded. "but on the weekends you can sleep later."

"I don't like school already." Hannah said and got out of bed. Nate gave her a morning kiss and went to make some breakfast. CD helped Hannah get ready for school. Once Hannah was up, she got out of her grumpy mood.

"are you excited?" CD asked as she put her hair in pigtails.

"yep!" She giggled. "do you think I'll like my teachers?"

"Yes I do." CD finished her hair. "you look very pretty."

"so do you Mommy." Hannah kissed her cheek.

"thanks..." CD laughed and they went to have breakfast with Nate. After eating, they got into the car and went to Hannah's school. CD and Nate took Hannah to her class. Nate had to practically pull CD out of the classroom. Now they drove to the Division.

"how can this not be hard on you?" CD asked as she drove.

"it is hard." He said. "but I know there has to be one strong parent, or else Hannah will end up homeschooled." He laughed.

"Hey, That's a good idea!" CD exclaimed.

"no CD..." Nate laughed.

"I know..." CD muttered and they arrived to the division.

When they walked in the bull pen, everyone was chatting away.

"What's going on?" Nate asked Raina and sat at his desk.

Raina grinned. "Jinny just broke the news that she and Teddy got engaged last night!"

"more like you tortured it outta me..." Jinny muttered. "but yeah, I'm gettin' hitched."

"Wow! Congratulations..." CD smiled and hugged Jinny. "when are you getting married?"

"Next month." She nodded. "Nothing big. We just figured it was time to do it."

"Have you and Nate set a date yet?" Angela asked CD.

"you ask me that every other day..." She groaned.

"but I'd like to know too..." Nate muttered. He hated hearing Jinny and Teddy were getting married, because he always figured he and CD would be married before them too.

"Eventually." CD said. "but we have Jinny's wedding to look forward to now."

Everyone nodded and Kate came out and gave them all something to do. At lunchtime, CD and Nate drove home to be alone.

"so Jinny and Teddy are getting married before us." Nate sat down on the couch.

"yep..." CD nodded and sat down beside him. "why are you mad about that? They knew each other before we did."

"So!" Nate said. "we have been engaged for two damn years."

"We will get married eventually!...is it really THAT big of a deal?" she asked.

"of course it is!" He said. "We should be married."

"well we have to wait till after Jinny and Teddy get married now." CD said.

"Fine...just keep making excuses." Nate muttered and went to the kitchen to find something to eat. He was really getting fed up with this. He knew CD loved him, but he still had this feeling that she wished she could find someone better.

OMG!!!!!!!! MARIA!!!!!!!! I about died when I saw this at the top of the page, and then died again when I saw that you posted on it! I thought this fic was a goner for sure.....but WOW, I'm so glad that you posted again!

Poor Nate....maybe they can make it a double service?
