Default Does anybody know the name of this show?

This show aired I think in the mid-to-late 1980s and is about a man who becomes a superhero when he puts on this red suit (he can fly). But he's not good at what he does. When he flies his cape gets in his face, and when he lands he always crashes (usually into some garbage cans).

I think his superhero identity is "who-perman", "super-who", or something like that. I can't remember too well. And the actor who plays him reminds me of Larry from Perfect Strangers, but I don't think it's the same actor.

Does anybody know the name of this show?

I think you are referring to "The Greatest American Hero", which aired from 1981-83. It starred William Katt, the son of Barbara Hale (Della Street on "Perry Mason").

sometime in the late 80s/early 90s, NBC tried to revive it with a series pilot called "The Greatest American Heroine".

information about it is at:

The pilot for The Greatest American Heroine is supposedly going to be an extra on the first season DVD set. Neat.

I thought Mary Ellen Stuart was really cute and did a good job.

But I would have liked to have seen one of the originals like Rhonda or Tammy under the auspices here was a troubled girl that Ralph helped turn around and now she is the Heroine.
