Did anybody like this show? Maybe when (and if) they reach the final season of GG they could add GP as a bonus to that set. I remember watching only three or four episodes and I couldn't really get it into at all . I know it was a spinoff, but I couldn't get into it then without Dorothy since she is my favorite. I would be interested in seeing it now, but I'm sure it would never be syndicated.

There were a handful of episodes that were funny, but I think almost everyone here will agree that the two-part with Dorothy visiting was probably the best. It works because the characters could go back to who they originally were. For instance, without Dorothy, we never had the voice of reason, unless Roland expressed it. Rose started to become the rock, especially when Blanche started to neglect her duties for men. In fact, I love when Dorothy visits, and Rose finally stands up to Dorothy, and even has the nerve to slap her head with the newspaper. The running gag is Dorothy turning to Blanche and Sophia saying, "When did she become the strong one?" and "When did you become so strong?!" That's also the only time we get to see the new insides of Shady Pines.
I also liked the episode where the food critic dies and they all try to hide the body from reporters and the health inspector. I didn't though like the way they ended Rose's relationship with Miles by him seeing another woman. And it was sad to see Stan's farewell to Sophia. |
