Exclamation Just Keep it in the Wayans Family

i was watching some episodes from the first two seasons and they were really funny. i noticed that the production credits didn't include as many wayans family members...mostly damon and kim.

i feel like damon may be giving his son and nephews too much creative and production power when they may not be ready. i'm all for keeping it in the family and giving them a chance to develop their talent but i think the quality of the show is suffering.

i think franklin gets waaay too much camera time and calvin is simply awful.

i don't even remember seeing kady in the last episode...but franklin's wise azz was there.

i've said it before but...junior is just too dumb.

oh and can we please get tisha campbell a new weave?

am i the only one that's noticed this?

I totally agree. While I don't watch the show on a regular basis. The fact is that they made the Juinor's character is a total moron and the fact that they made him a teen father is worst. I don't care how much money his parents have even a teenage girl would draw the line of getting pregnant by that fool. I don't mind the fact that they have a teen pregnancy/parent story line. ( It happens) but If they kept his character the same from the first two seasons at least the families watching the show could use that to start conversations with their kids.

All the kids are now unreal charactures ( I know I mispelled it lol)And that last episode with Damon doing the rap battle was just sad. (However I did dig seeing Special Ed, Kool Moe Dee and MC Lyte). At least when Married With Children did a turn around with their show it worked because it was funny and they honest that they were no longer wholesome entertainment.

Thumbs down

I have to third your observations! The show has become a nick type t.v show like Raven! In the beginning it was intelligent show. Although some of the lines in the show are funny! The characters are just too cartoonish.

I still like the show but it's driving me crazy that they still won't do any holiday episodes. And it wouldn't hurt if Franklin,Tony, Vanessa and her parents disappeared for awhile because I miss the show being about the Kyles like in the earlier episodes.

Still it's a good show but you can forget about it being "The Next Cosby". Hopefully Damon and crew can turn it around.

This topic is testimony for ALL disgruntled My Wife and Kids fans.

I honestly loved this show back when it was just the family of five. My favorite episode is still the hour-long one where the family gets into a restaurant fight with a white family.

Nowadays, this show is getting really annoying to watch. I can't even recall the last time they DIDN'T show Franklin. Seriously, that kid NEEDS TO GO! Some might think he's cute, but that doesn't make him a good character. He's the #1 reason why this show has been getting killed in the past couple years.

I think the last GREAT episode was the one where Michael's sister (played by Vivica Fox) came to visit. That came just before Franklin first appeared, and before the episodes in general started getting cheesy.

I find it difficult that the audience can laugh at the crap this show has been giving us lately:

-Jay picking a fight with Michael is NOT funny.
-Junior not being able to add 2 and 2 is NOT funny.
-Claire and Kady being ignored in every other episode is NOT funny.
-An idiot couple like Calvin and Janice is NOT funny.
-Having an annoying goober like Franklin around forever is cruel and unusual punishment. Doesn't that kid have his own family?

In short, My Wife and Kids has indeed "jumped the shark". I'd say Season 3 is the reason; everything since then has been really dragging down a once-wonderful show.
