In the book that I have on TV shows, The Trouble With Father was a syndication name for a show called The Stu Erwin Show.
The Stu Erwin Show was a half-hour ABC sitcom that ran from October 21, 1950 to April 13, 1955. I don't know the number of episodes, but it would appear to be quite a few over that long a run. The beginning of the show description: "This was perhaps TV's leading bumbling-father series in the 1950s." The basic premise: "Stu was a principal of Hamilton High School which often served to get him involved in various civic activities. But most of the action was around the Erwins' own home, where Stu's every attempt to fix or improve things, surprise someone, or bring up the kids turned to disaster."
