A Very Memorable Halloween

k,here it goes...and it probably sucks, i wrote in like a day so....let me know what ya think!




It was a dark and stormy night in San Fransisco.Kate was sitting by the window staring up at the full moon. How fitting,She thought, A fullmoon on Halloween. She was willing to swear She could see a face in it...a face grinning eerily down at her.
"Hey Cap...'Jinny tried to get her attention,"Yo Cap!..."
"Kate!" Nate shook her shoulder.
"Huh? Sorry." She replied.
"Wishing you were on your broom flying past the moon right now?"Jinny smirked.
"Yeah...damn rain!"Kate raised her eyebrow.
"Okay...that was a good one Jin"Raina laughed,"So who's up for that drinking game?"
"What drinking game?"Kate asked.
"Okay you're body was here in Anchorside, but where was your mind?"Jinny asked.
"Like you said...riding my broom around the moon."
"Okay before we gotta break up a cat fight here.."Raina interupted.
"I don't mind watchign them in a cat fight."Nate flashed a sly grin.
"Thats because you're a pig."Stacy rolled her eyes,"As Raina was trying to say...everybody has to tell a ghost story..we rate it with drinks. If it's good instead of five stars...everybody has to take five shots. The drunkest person has to..."Stacy thought for a moment
"Kiss Nate!"Nate smiled,and blew the women a kiss."
"What if you end up being the drunkest?"Kate asked.
"Then I get to pick Who I kiss."He leaned in close to her,and winked."Are ya in or are ya out?"
"I'll be taking shots of rootbeer of course.."Jinny said," And if Cap is in,then this is one time I'll be glad to watch everybody else get drunk!" She laughed.
"Well, I'm not in..sorry to disapoint ya."
"Oh come on!"Nate nudged her shoulder with his, "Ya probably won't get drunk on your ass.."
"Thats what you think!"Raina smirked,"I got great story."
" I'll take ya home no prob."Jinny said.
"Come on Cap! Ya don't gotta work in the morning...loosen up a little!'Raina cheered.
"You've already had a few drinks haven't ya?"
Raina smiled and giggled.
"It's Halloween..celebrate!" Stacy urged.
"Okay fine! I feel like a teenager giving into peer pressure! Bring it on."Kate sighed.
"Wahoooo!"The table cheered.
"Greg,My man!"Jinny called to the waiter near by,"C'mere!"
"What can I do for ya?"He asked,picking up the empty glasses.
"Pending that we play our cards right, we just might get to see Good Ole Captain McCafferty here get drunk on her ass!"
"Oh really?"He smirked.
Kate rolled her eyes.
"Could ya bring us enough tequila to choke a horse please?"Raina asked with a smile.
"How's about a pony instead?" Greg asked.
"That'll work."
"And rootbeer."Jinny added.


"Ya ever heard of The Bunnyman bridge?"
"Yep."Jinny nodded.
"Nope."Nate,Kate & Raina replied.
"Well now you're gonna..."Stacy stated." Okay so...once apon a time..."
"Once apon a time?? Ha! You've gotta be kidding!"Jinny cackled.
"Okay seriously now."She laughed," In the early 1900s in...some town,...somewhere in the US..there is a haunted bridge.."
"Wooooo!"Jinny gasped.
"Shut up, I'm not to the good part yet."She ordered,"Now the story goes that there was an insane asylum opened in this town...but the town's people didn't want a buncha nuts living down the street from them,so they complained until the state moved the asylum. Some of the patients escaped,but they caught all but two. People started finding half eaten dead bunnies around...Wich explains where "Bunnyman Bridge" comes from..."
"Thats disgusting!"Raina exclaimed.
"Yeah..and sometime after that they found one of the dudes hanging from the the bridge by a rope. They think the other guy did it,but couldn't prove it because He disapeared...but they still find half eaten bunnies sometimes...and there have been a lot of unexplained deaths at the bridge...some of the people were found hanging from it....so how was that?"
"That was gross."Kate said." I'd say worthy of one....ya need to get more info..it would make it scarier."
"Yeah."Everyone agreed and downed their shots.
"Okay my turn!"Raina said,"Get ready,this one is good!"
"Well tell it." Stacy said.
"Well okay."Raina paused a moment before starting her story." There was a girl named Lizzy,She was about 14 years old,and had just moved into the rambling 19th century house She lived in only a few days ealier and one night while she was home alone instead of doign her home work she was talking in a chatroom online when she got an im from someone She'd never talked to before..but they weren't in the chatroom either. She asked the person their age and gender. I'm a girl.they said. But she didn't tell Lizzy her age.
"How old are you?" Lizzy asked again
"My name is Elizabeth. my family calls me Lizzy."She avoided the question again.
"Cool,Me too." Lizzy replied 'How old are you?' She asked again.
"I was fourteen when I died."She finally admitted.
Lizzy was startled but assumed She was just trying to scare her,"When did you die?" She asked her.
"One hundred years ago on this day."
Lizzy scoffed at the dumb prank,and asked "How did you die?"
"You'll soon find out."
"How?"
"You're about to die the same way,in the same place,at the same time."
Imediately the power went out.

"What happened after that?" Stacy asked.
"Her parents came home from their date and found her dead in her bedroom. Her death was ruled unknown,and they tossed the case into the Cold case file."
"Now why can you tell stories that good when you're sober?"Jinny asked.
"Four shots!"Nate cheered,and they tossed'em back.
That was great,Raina." Kate clapped."Who's next?" She tossed her arm onto Nate's shoulder,"How aboutyou?"
"Nah,let somebody else go."Nate replied.
"Cap's tipsy!"Jinny laughed.
"No,Raina's tipsy."Kate replied.
"No,Raina's drunk!"Everyone including Raina stated.
"How's about,You Greg?" Raina grabbed his hand when He walked by,"Got any good stories,Pal?"
"Sure."He pulled up a chair,and sat down," And this one will definately win first place."He grinned.
"We're waiting."Jinny said impatiently.
"One stormy Halloween night about five years ago, in the scary house down the road from my house ....A young woman used to live in that house back then. Her husband had died in a mysterious accident one year earlier. It just happened to be Halloween as well that day. So now one year later she was sitting in the den, dwelling in memories.
Suddenly there was a noise outside... she looked up and her heart beat as fast as never before. There was a shadow moving in front of her window and it sounded as if somebody was scratching on it.
She gathered all her courage to check out what was going on. But by the time she got to the window there was nothing to be seen. She strained to see something in the darkness outside when suddenly she heard what seemed to be steps behind her.She spun around right away and another window was open and a curtain was blowing in the wind. She hurried over there to close it quickly, hoping to get rid of the chill that had overcome her.
Suddenly the phone started to ring. What was strange though was that due to the thunderstorm it wasn't even plugged in. Swallowing she walked towards it.Carefully she picked up the receiver. "Hello?"
On the other hand a creepy voice was laughing. When the voice spoke up she realized that it couldn't possibly be human.
What the voice said scared her even more. "Goooo tooooo yooooour bathrooooooom." Then there was silence.
Of course she obliged and hurried into the bathroom. When she saw the sight in front of her she screamed an earsplitting scream that was reported to be heard all over the city
There in her sink laid the shirt her husband had worn the night he died. His blood was all over it and the crimson stains seemed to be grinning at her.
While she was still screaming her phone started to ring again. Again she picked it up and heard that voice laugh again.
"And...."Jinny urged.
"And I gotta get back to work." He stood up.
"What??No!,Sit!"Raina protested.
"I was just kidding."He chuckled and sat back down and continued the story. "Yoooooou haaaaaave tiiiiiiil miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidniiiiiiiiiight toooooooooo geeeeeeet theeeeee staaaaaaains oooooout oooooof youuuuuur huuuuuusbaaaaand''s shiiiiirt." The voice said and hung up again.
Okay, to shorten this a bit, she tried to get the stains out, but coudln't get rid of 'em... every hour the voice called again, when it's getting closer to midnight the message is....
"Yoooooou haaaaaave tiiiiiiil miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidniiiiiiiiiight toooooooooo geeeeeeet theeeeee staaaaaaains oooooout oooooof youuuuuur huuuuuusbaaaaand''s shiiiiirt.... oooooooooooooooor......" evil laughter erupted and the voice was gone again.
At midnight there's another phonecall. The evil laughter is back. "yoooooou diiiiiidn't geeeeet theeeeee staaaaaain ouuuuuut...."
"I tried!"She screamed,"I tried everything! It won't come out!!"
"Did you try clorox?"The voice cackled and hang up. The End." Greg smirked as everyone burst into laughter.
"That was awesome!"Kate laughed,and downed five shots" Fantastic,amazing...awesome! FI gave that five!"
"Thank you,thank you."He stood up and bowed,"Now I shall get back to work."
"That fic was almost as good as his butt..."Raina said,as She watched him walk away.
"Almost but, not quite."Kate raised her eyebrow.
"Cap's drunk!"Jinny exclaimed.
"Tipsy maybe. Drunk? No."Kate stated.
"Drunk."
"Tipsy."
"Drunk."
"Tipsy!"
"This is definately one of the most memorable Halloweens I've had."Jinny laughed.
"Okay! Okay!"Raina said rather loudly,"It's Jinny's turn! Go Jinny!"
"Lower your voice."Jinny laughed as She covered Raina's mouth.
"Seeeee,I'm still sober enough to tell that this child has had more then enough."Kate said," It's time to cut her off."
"Noooo!" Raina yelled.
"Yessss!"Jinny covered her mouth again.
Raina pried her hand loose,"Tell your story!"
"Okay,shut up. and I will."Jinny ordered,and then began Her story." Okay,supposedly this is true,and right across the street at our very own division."
"Ooooooo!"Stacy and Raina exclaimed in unison.
"I've never witnessed it,but my first partner on the force said He did,and that He knew the guy. Back in the early eighties sometime, A suspect in a murder case came into the division to be questioned,and when the cop on the case proved it was him, The guy fought him,and got his gun,the idiot actually thought He was gonna escape this way or something. In the process of trying to get the him, This rookie was shot and killed."
"I was there."Kate said, "His name was David Mayers..It was my sixth day on the force."
"Wow" was all Jinny could think of to say.
"Finish the story." Kate told her.
"Well, anyways, My partner said that after that People saw Him walking down the hallway,between the Bullpen doors and the elevators."
"What did He look like Cap?" Stacy asked.
"He was tall...about your height.Blonde hair,and his eyes were so cool. One of his eyes was half green and half brown,and the other one was brown."She sighed,"Okay,Jinny these three are for your story."She tossed back three shots,and did everyone else.
"Have you ever seen him,Cap?" Raina asked,"His ghost?"
"I saw someone that looked like him a few times....but I doubt it was him."
"I think He really haunted the place...If ghosts are real,and I highly doubt they are, that one of us wuolda seen him by now."Jinny said.
"Yeah."Kate agreed,"Okay Nate it's your turn.""Okay Nate, it's yuor turn."
"Okay...um....'He thought," I dunno how true this is, My cousin said it happened to him,and He loved to torment me with scary stories when we were little so....He said that one day He was home alone,and watching a movie,When He heard someone pounding on the door really loud. He thought it was his big sister so He went and opened it,and nobody was there. So He went back in his room,and heard it again...and He answered it,and no one was there,and then He went back to his room,and He could here someone shaking the door knob,trying to get it open,but every time He went to the living room,it stopped, He answered it a couple of times,and everytime no one was there...and then He ignored it for a while...and then Suddenly He heard a loud thud against the door,so He went and opened it,and there was a big rock laying on the porch by the door,and a Man standing in the yard.And He said that the man just faded away."
"Woooooooo! Spooookyyy!" Raina clapped," Two shots!"
"I think , we'll give it thumbs up instead." Jinny took everyone's glasses away" You've all had enough. That is freaky Nate."
"Thanks."He smiled" So Who gets to kiss me?"
"Raina's had the most to drink...but obviously Stacy can not handle Her booze."Jinny pointed to Stacy.
"Pucker up Handsome!" She leaned over the table.
"Woooooo!"Nate covered up her mouth,"Your breath Stinks! We're goin with the least drunk instead!C'mere Jin."
"Nu-uh! Your breath is as bad as her's!"Jinny laughed.
"We can just wait till tomorrow, when our breathes our smelling better."Stacy suggested.

"Okay, get in, ya buncha drunks!" Jinny said as She unlocked her car.
"Exstead, I can still see straight enough to knock you upside the head nice and hard!" Kate glared at her.
"Get in the car,Red."Jinny ordered,"I gotta run back into the divison really quick, I'll be right back."She said and headed back.
"Hey,Cap when was the last time you got drunk,and slept with somebody?"Raina asked as they all piled into Jinny's car.
"Ummm..."Kate thought,"Abut Three years ago."
"Did ya know the guy?"
"Yeah."
"Who was it?"
"Haysbert."
"Holy Sh**!! Are you serious!?"
"Yep."
"Was it gooood?"Raina smirked.
"I'm gonna hail a cab."Nate said and got out of the car."Goodnight ladies, and Lord, I hope I don't remember this conversation!" He said just before He closed the door,and walked away.
"Raina, I don't know. I was drunker then you." Kate rolled her eyes


Jinny grabbed Her purse out of her desk drawer,locked back,turned off her desk lamp and head out. Walking down the hall, She was thinking about that guy. David Mayers. She didn't see the wet floor sign ahead of her,and slid down when she stepped in the water,spilling much of the stuff in her purse. She picked up quickly,and hoped that noone had seen her fall. But someone did.
"Here ya missed this." The handsom blond man smiled,and handed her her pen.
'Thanks."Jinny tried to laugh off the embarrassing situation. He must have been knew,She thought. Because She'd never seen him before.
"Ya okay?"
"Fine,thanks."
"Okay, good."
"Good night."Jinny took note of the name on his badge. She was definately gonna flirt if She saw him tomorrow.
"You too." He smiled again and continue do his way.
Jinny glanced at his backside,then continued on her way. "Nice ass and gorgeous eyes...hmmm," She thought. His Eyes. His badge said Mayers. Jinny stopped in her tracks. She quickly turned around,an
saw that She was the only one in the long dim hallway. 'Ha! Yeah right! "Jinny rolled her eyes at herself "I guess Rootbeer effect your thinking too..."

For the record not all of the ghost stories are mine. The Bunnyman Bridge is a story I've heard a few times. And Thanks Cat for the story about the blood stain!
