I posted something similar to this on the Cop Shows thread...
I am *so* happy that Silk Stalkings is out on DVD now - it was a supremely underrated show, partly because it was on cable, and partly because it was a Stephen Cannell show. While it was not up to the drama level of Hill St. Blues or even NYPD Blue, it was a consistently entertaining hour of TV. Also, I think Stephen Cannell shows are usually underrated, because they are generally formulaic (but that isn't a bad thing if you have a good formula) and not "edgy". If you watch some of his shows (like Magnum PI) he does address some serious issues, but the issues never become more important than the entertainment value of the show (see: the last few seasons of M*A*S*H). Just my 2 cents worth.... |

One of my teachers was practically obsessed with Silk Stalkings and would come to class just about every morning to talk about the latest episode.
I'm very happy to see its DVD release.
