Default Blooper in "Opie's Girlfriend?"

I watched this episode last night & since when did Helen have a sister? Cynthia was supposed to be Helen's niece. Did I miss something, or is it a blooper?

Good question.
I don't know the answer.

I missed that! I'll have to pay attention when that episode comes on again. I love to try to catch bloopers. On one of the Leave It To Beaver episodes, I noticed one of the chairs in the Cleavers home was also the same chair in Larry Mondello's home. Just thought I would share that.

Oh, wow, good observation!! Do you remember which episode that was, so I'll be able to notice it? LITB is another one of my favorite shows.

So. do we know if Helen Crump had any siblings?

Well apparently she did since she had a niece.

That's the color episode where Opie races Helen's niece to Goober's filling station and we discover that the filling station is only about a block behind the Taylor house.

In other words, that apparent country road is a lot closer than I'd imagined up to that point.

🙂

Watching another color episode where Opie is having girl troubles, this one with feather brained Mary Alice Carter, who Andy says is probably the prettiest girl in the class.

She ditched Opie for some other guy to the dance, to go with Fred Simpson.

Not a lot of humor in this one, but a good story, well acted by all.

Never knew that. The little kid is way less annoying, but of course they're just playing it the way they're told.

I've wondered why shows have the same kid actor play another part years later. Such as on Leave It To Beaver they had Veronica Cartwright, who played Violet Rutherford, play a different part in the final season, a one-shot named Peggy MacIntosh. Why not just have her play Violet again? And why not have Trey be Trey again?

As far as whether Helen had any siblings, I don't think there's any mention of siblings in any other episode. As others posted, of course she had to have at least one.
