What is your all-time favorite episode of McHale's Navy and why?

many episodes were classics, however if pressed I would say the episode where Mchale's men inject laughing gas into captain binghamton. Just awesome seeing Binghamton going in and out of laughing episodes with McHale's men and the Admiral The end has him dancing to mexican music with a nurse as the Admiral walks in. (on a table with a lampshade as his hat)

I haven't seen very many so far, but I really liked "Washing Machine Charlie" (I noticed that about 20 years later M*A*S*H* did a very similar plot).
I'm not sure what it is about this one, but the humour just seemed to be timed right, and everyone had something to do. I especially liked Parker hanging in the tree (from the parachute) and saluting the Captian and the Admiral as if it were an everyday occurrence. "Six Pounds to Paradise" was also a really good one! I loved when a visiting Congresswoman almost chose McHale to be a representitive, but it turned out that the one she chose was an officer on the PT 109!This was not only funny, but a nice-if understated-reference to someone who was President when the episode first aired.(Tim Conway did a fairly good Kennedy imitation.)

all the episodes were classics & very funny to say the least! I like the episode where there was a race in the town of a Voltafiore and the captains entry was "Bings Bomb"

Last week I saw a couple of great episodes including my all-time favourite where Parker is assigned to teach a group of nurses judo lessons and ends up messing up, in Tim Conway's usual hilarious fashion, in order to impress a pretty blond nurse, played by Joyce Bulifant (Murray's wife on the Mary Tyler Moore show. Murray was Gavin MacLeod, who was also in McHale's Navy! How's that for a funny coincidence?). This was followed by an episode where Parker tries to boost up the Captain's image by calling him "Jolly Wally", where Capt. Binghamton starts laughing his head off whenever he feels pain, which is often. These were 2 great episodes! I also loved the one where Christie gets married, and the crew tries everything to make sure the wedding goes off without a hitch, and of course, many complications ensue!
I've noticed that one of the fans here, Dave, aka P.O. XYY lives in my hometown. I wonder if he's been watching these great episodes on PRIME like I have every Saturday? |

I think all the episodes were the best, but I think the laughing gas was hilarious. Hmm, and also when Binghampton tried to trick the men into believing that the 73 was jinxed.
This, definetly is the best Tv Show in all the world. |
