Is there any new info out there about the rape and murder of Mia Zapata in '93 in Seattle. There was a lot of info left out of the episode (like the fact she was raped etc.) and I was just wondering if anyone knew anything new like her boyfriends name or new theries about where she went after the apartment or where she was killed

There was no update when this segment was re-broadcast a few months ago during the new season. I did find this informative article which says police did not disclose that she had been raped until years later, so perhaps that is why the Unsolved Mysteries segment (February 2nd, 1996) didn't mention it. There are other aspects to the case which they are keeping a secret for when somebody says something about it. The article said her boyfriend was cleared as he passed two lie detector tests and was fully cooperative with the investigation - plus he had a rock solid alibi.
My theory is that it was a random killing, she had no known enemies. |
