FAITH FORD HOSTS THE FUNNIEST FAMILIES OF TELEVISION COMEDY: A MUSEUM OF TELEVISION & RADIO SPECIAL, MONDAY, JULY 19 ON ABC Tim Allen, Ray Romano, Bernie Mac, Jim Belushi, Marion Ross, Rob Reiner, George Lopez, Florence Henderson, John Ritter and Many Others Provide Interviews From the Cramdens, Cleavers and Petries to the Huxtables, Bundys and Simpsons, situation comedies have reveled in the hilarity of family dynamics. A team of experts from The Museum of Television & Radio culled through their extensive archives to find the funniest moments celebrating TV families from the last 50 years for The Funniest Families of Television Comedy: A Museum of Television & Radio Special, airing MONDAY, JULY 19 (9:30-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. Faith Ford (Hope & Faith) hosts from the set of her current sitcom. In addition to classic and recent TV moments, many of the stars and creators of these programs share their insights, including John Ritter in his final television interview. Other celebrities interviewed include Rob Reiner, Tim Allen, Norman Lear, Marlo Thomas, Bernie Mac, Ray Romano, Phil Rosenthal, Florence Henderson, Marion Ross, Jane Kaczmarek, Patricia Richardson, Katey Sagal, Frankie Muniz, George Lopez, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Jim Belushi, Topher Grace, Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith. The program covers the many touchstones of family comedy or example, sibling rivalry, first dates, parenting challenges, in-laws and the birds and the bees. Some of the programs showcased in clips are The Cosby Show, 8 Simple Rules, King of the Hill, Roseanne, Make Room for Daddy, Married With Children, All in the Family, Malcolm in the Middle, Kate & Allie, Friends, Mad About You, That 70s Show, According to Jim, Family Ties, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, My Wife and Kids, Happy Days, Wonder Years, The Jeffersons and many more. Clips highlighted on the special include an unforgettable dance by the Cosby cast to Ray Charles's The Night Time is the Right Time; the Conners haltingly trying to say grace over dinner on Roseanne, Rob Petrie, panic-stricken at home thinking Laura is in labor; a Cheers Thanksgiving food fight; Murphy Brown in the throes of labor; Phoebe breaking up a catfight between Rachel and Monica on Friends; and Archie Bunker calling Mike a Meathead, for the first time. The executive producers for the special are John Watkin, Eamon Harrington, John Wolters, Stuart N. Brotman and Diane Lewis. It was directed by John Watkin and Eamon Harrington and is produced by Planet Grande Pictures in association with the Museum of Television & Radio.
