I think most of us here think M*A*S*H is either the best or one of the best shows ever. That having been said, every long-running show has a handful of shows that just didn't measure up for whatever reason.
One of my least favorite M*A*S*H episodes is from season 11, "Who Knew," about how Hawkeye has to eulogize a nurse he never got to really know who seemed emotionally distant, but kept her deep feelings inside from everyone else as well. I understand that this was about someone dying, but this episode was far too serious and sober for my tastes. The best M*A*S*H episodes mixed comedy and drama well and this one was symptomatic of the trend in the last three or four years towards stories that were too serious. I found many of the show's dramatic moments touching, but this one just missed me completely. Okay, which episodes do you guys feel don't measure up...??

For some reason, I love that episode.
I can't stand "Sometimes You Hear the Bullet", "Abyssinnia, Henry", "Goodbye Radar", and G,F&A unless I saw it within the last week. I am also not fond of "The Longjohn Flap", "The Tooth Shall Set You Free", "Iron Guts Kelly", "George", and "The General Flipped at Dawn." I have a hard time watching the sadness of the Christmas episodes too. That's all I can think of right now.

My least favorite would probably be "Showtime."

Mine would be "Hawkeye," from season four.
As much as I love Alan Alda, I don't want to sit around and watch him do a half-hour rambling monologue. |

"Dreams" "Follies of the Living, Concern of the Dead" "Snap Judgment" "Snappier Judgment" "Bless you, Hawkeye" "Hawkeye"
and just about ALL of the post-Radar ones, including 99.9% of "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen". |

How those were made into a 2-PARTER when it shouldn't have been made. Very weak script. |

I saw a bad one yesterday. Thirty minutes of Hawkeye sneezing. Loudly. Followed by him having a freaked out memory meltdown.

The Season 3 episode "The General Flipped at Dawn," with Harry Morgan playing a crazy general, is a little tough for me to watch. I don't consider it a bad episode by any means, I just wish some other actor had been in that role. It gives me a funny vibe, knowing he went on to play Col. Potter starting in Season 4.
