A source close to the series has confirmed the cast has been released from their contracts and the show's sets have been torn down. Nevertheless, FOX reps still insist the series hasn't been canceled.

Series star Chi McBride (Mr. Harper) has already joined the cast of ABC's drama pilot "Countdown," about a S.W.A.T. team and how it handles the final 43 minutes of a crisis.

Loretta Devine (Marla) is set to join the cast of the Liftetime original drama "Wild Card"when it returns for its second season this summer. She'll play M. Pearl McGuire, the outspoken new boss of Joely Fisher and Chris Potter's characters. Devine's involvement is the result of being released from her contract on "Boston Public"

If "Boston Public" hasn't been cancelled...it is NO LONGER worth watching!!!

WHY DID FOX KILL THE SHOW?????

I would like to know the answer to that question myself. I'm very upset about Boston Public going off the air with no season finale. It just stopped coming on all of a sudden.

Are they ever going to air the rest of this past season??? I know since it debuted in Fall 2000, its ready for syndication. I hope they air the unaired episodes then.
