After ABC dropped Life With Bonnie, Fox could have picked it up, or at least resurrected State of Grace!

Buffyslayer, you're wrong. Arrested Development is MUCH better than halfway decent. Seriously, I agree with you. AD is a smart, sharp comedy, and it's not for people who want to settle for the cookie-cutter family sitcoms that seem to get recycled under a different name. Maybe that's why the ratings haven't been better, people won't allow themselves the chance to appreciate a fresh approach to comedies.

Fox's lineup is to confusing. 24 is't coming on until January. Malcolm and Bernie Mac are going to keep changing timeslots and if one of their summer shows gets hot it will probably wind up in another timeslot than it was originally supposed to. I've tried watching Arrested Development but I just can't get into that show. Maybe I'll watch Tru Calling this summer but knowing FOX if I like it, it'll probably be canceled soon after.

Anyone so immature that they have to scream "NO!!!...." probably isn't smart enough to appreciate Arrested Development.
He's just pissed that the girl from State of Grace has moved on to bigger and BETTER things.

And about FOX picking up Life With Bonnie??
You're kidding, right?
The show got nowhere in the ratings, and critics hated it.
Why would any channel want to pick it up??

In my local paper they listed 24 and said it'll be shown without repeats. But then I realized they don't show repeats of 24 anyway. What they probably meant is that, with the new season starting in January, they'll show the entire season in 24 consecutive weeks, no pre-emptions. That's a good thing in that people may get into it more knowing that they won't have to wait one, two (or five!) weeks between episodes. I didn't even bother watching season 3 because I didn't want to get involved when it's so spread out, I decided to wait for the dvd release. I think that's the case with alot of people because the ratings this year could have been better. The ideal way to watch this show is in dvd marathon sessions, but if they'll show all of next season's episodes in 24 consecutive weeks with no pre-emptions, fans would be more likely to watch.

Yeah, the FOX schedule is a bit confusing, but I don't see any other network laying out their program schedule for an entire year's worth of programs!

I admire them for trying to change things around a bit.

At least FOX is trying to provide some new programs during the summer months. I never understood why the Networks think that the entire population just turns off thier TVs just because school is out.

FOX has been trying this Summer schedule for a few years now, and they scored some big hits last year. If they can score some big ratings points again during the dog days of summer, I'm sure the other networks will think twice about going on hiatus next summer.

Well, that's the point. By and large, FOX is attempting something that has never been done before. Yes, the network had some hits over the past few summers, but rolling out a full-year season isn't something that is going to work perfectly the first year. I wouldn't be too surprised if FOX loses some viewers to other networks because everyone is still used to the old September fall season meaning new shows.

FOX is taking a risk doing this.... but I think its smart.
Good to see some sitcoms on their lineup, hopefully they give Andy Richter some time, this time.

Yeah, we'll see how well this schedule holds up when some of the shows start bombing.

Indeed. I think the first "season" from June to October of 2004 will probably hold its own against whatever rerun hell/summer shows the other networks are airing. Things will get dicey come August/September/November, however. If I'm not mistaken, NBC is starting their new fall season in August, the regular fall season starts in September, and then FOX begins their second "season" in November. It is hard enough trying to remember when shows premiere when they're all premiering in the same month, let alone spread about.

I personally believe the 2004/2005 season is going to be rather pivotal in terms of the future of network television. FOX is gambling an awful lot on this three-season season format working out for them and if it doesn't, given the general dislike for the network from people who hate reality TV (I know of many people who simply won't watch new shows on FOX because FOX is known for cancelling anything worth watching) I can only see FOX slipping in the ratings.

At least FOX is going to start their Fall season in November, after all the Baseball playoff/World Series games.

In years past, quite a few good and promising shows were screwed out of finding an audience becasue they would premiere in September, then be pre-empted for several weeks so FOX could cover baseball.

Glad to hear that Arrested Development is returning.

Quintuplets looks horrible. Method and Red doesn't look good, but at least they won't have an annoying laugh track. I'll still check out those two to see if they're any good.

Hopefully American Dad and the new Family Guy episodes will be good.
