I have had TNN since the mid 80s, back when they were known as The Nashville Network.
Whats the story about the change from "Nashville" to "National" network? Country music is still popular and a "country" channel should have worked but I have to wonder if this is a case of trying to get "city" viewers. If so, then I dont get it. I was reading elsewhere that many of today's hottest tv markets are located in cities like Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Norfolk-Virginia Beach, Nashville, Memphis, Dallas, Houston, and of course Atlanta. All of these cities "down south". TNN now is ok but I have to admit I miss their "Nashville" days. Not only to I miss the reruns of Alice, Real McCoys, and The Dukes but shows like Nashville Now and Crook & Chase. Heck, I even miss that cooking show TNN aired that starred Mrs. Brady. Florence Henderson. |

Plain and Simple- they revamped the image to get more teenage viewers. It's bad when a network sales out for the glitter of the gold. They should remember that all that glitters isn't gold. I wished they would go back to showing my favorite show. Wishful thinking I guess...
------------------ Hottest Men alive: Dale Midkiff Anthony Starke Tim McGraw Jonathan Crombie Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud? Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit. Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit. Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger. [Eddie and Lumpy suppress laughter] Dale Midkiff is my man!

Last year, TNN was sold to Viacom, which wanted a general entertainment network to compete with TBS and USA. It's easier to convert an existing network that has wide distribution than to start a new one. So Viacom grabbed TNN when it came on the market, because it's available in so many homes already, and started the conversion.

But they still have that damn black bar at the bottom of the screen/chop up their shows! Why do they have that black bar/the show's title? I mean, you'd have to be pretty stupid to not know the name of the show your watching! LOL
