Posted by LaSalle33: Right On! Now here's one show I thought I'd never see online! It appears the's no intrest so far. Maybe not enough people recall the show, what it's about or have heard of it. Well,as I recall the show is about a Seattle waitress (Angie),who meets a very wealthy young man (A lawyer?). They fall in love and get married. Of course, his rich family does not approve of him marrying someone outside his social class. (Kind of sounds like Dahrma & Greg doesn't it?) The show ran on ABC for almost 2 years, along with Taxi I think. The shows theme,"Different Worlds" by Maureen McGovern was a top 20 hit in 1979. I have that song still. If you want to see this show (as much as i do) I'd recommend contacting either TV Land or Nick At Nite like I have! LaSalle33 out! Posted by Karen64: I loved that show! Seeing it again has brought back fond memories of my teenage years. I used to have the biggest crush on Robert Hayes! (I thought it was cute during the opening of the show when he juggled the apples!) (I think he played a doctor, didn't he?) Posted by ThomasE: I actually heard the disco version of the theme song. After listening to it, I wanted so much to see the show, then 3 years later, I did. TV Land aired it in a box set. Posted by TV Guy: I never understood why this show didn't make it -- I thought it was pretty funny. I'm guessing it's because it followed "Happy Days" on Tuesday nights for a while (bumping "Laverne & Shirley" to Thursdays) and didn't hang onto the audience the way L&S did. Then, they started moving "Angie" around, and before you know it, it was cancelled. ABC reran it weekday mornings during one summer in the mid-80s. Posted by SNT-Boy: Here's a wild cross-over idea: Have Donna Pescow and Robert Hayes reprise their roles on "Everybody Loves Raymond" as Marie Barone's niece and nephew (in-law). They could say that Marie had a sister in Philadelphia. Posted by TV Guy: Good one! And Angie had a sister named Marie, so they could say that she was named after her Aunt Marie Barone. Posted by MsLulu: I thought Angie was a cute show. I like SNT's crossover idea. That would be cute. Maybe Angie's mom(don't remember her name) could come along too. I'm sure this would be fun for Doris Roberts. Posted by PaulJ38: What a great idea! Yes Doris Roberts would probably love to reunite with Donna Pescow. How 'bout Debralee Scott too? Posted by ThomasE: If anyone has episodes, let me know ASAP. |
