Post "Back To Brady" [episode #1 'Marcia's Suicide']

“Back To Brady”

series chapter one

Marcia Logan sat on her couch, reading the daily news. She read the section where they showed pictures of people that have recently died and gave some information on them.
“Shantal Fators committed suicide on March 29th in her apartment in San Diego” Marcia read “ It was her birthday. She turned thirty, and didn’t want to be married to her abusive husband any longer, says her suicide note. Her family is mourning from her death.”
Wally had walked in while she was reading.
“Oh my god!” he said. “that’s terrible!”
“I know” Marcia began “She was so young, only thirty. I’m forty four and I’m perfectly fine with my life. I mean, I live in a BEAUTIFUL house, I stay home all day...doing nothing. I have a wonderful husband...who I barely see. My kids, they’re great, but hate me. Accept for Jessica. But she never talks to me.”
“Oh, come on!” Wally said “They’re just kids.
“My life isn’t all that good, Wally!” she started “I don’t have any friends, besides Jan. I never see you. I’m home alone ALL day. What happened to me? When I was in school, I was what you called “groovy”.”
“Your life is fine”
“Don’t tell me what my life is!”
“Sorry...Maybe you should take a nap.”
“Maybe” she said “The only thing can do here is clean.”
Marcia started to walk upstairs, the her and Wally’s bedroom. Then, Wally walk down the first story hall to his study. Wally went to college and became an architect. Mike inspired him.
Michael Brady died five years earlier, because he had cancer. The family was shocked. They didn’t even know about him having cancer. He must have gotten it between 1993-1995, because his last check up was in 1993.
Marcia went down from the stairs and into the kitchen. She opened the medicine cabinet took out a full bottle of cough medicine. After she took the medicine out, she went upstairs to the bedroom.

Five hours later, Wally FINALLY went upstairs. He tried to wake Marcia up, but she wouldn’t budge. She had a pulse. Then, he saw the, now, empty bottle of cough medicine by the bed.
“Oh no.” He said under his breath.
He, then picked her up and went down the stairs. He left the house, and went to the hospital. He tried to wake her up in the car, but she just lay there, like a vegetable.
“Don’t die on me baby, come on wake up!” he yelled.

He finally got to the hospital, and rushed Marcia in. He took her into the emergency room, and told the doctors everything. They told him to wait in the waiting room. As they were talking to him, they stuck tubes down her nose and pump her stomach. They turned her over as she puked out the cough medicine.
Wally went to the waiting room and called all the family he could get a hold of. He got a hold of Carol, Jan and Phillip, and Cindy. They all got there in less than fifteen minutes.
Carol and Cindy came running down the hall to Wally.
“Is she okay?” Carol asked “Where is she? What happened”
“Yeah.” Cindy interrupted “What’s going on with Marcia?”
“Well” Wally said “Marcia... tried to kill herself.”
Both women gasped.
“But she’s okay.” Wally continued “They’ve put her in a room. I believe the number is 389. Visiting hours are from 9-12.”
“It’s past twelve” Carol enlightened Wally
“I know that. I mean in the morning.” He explained.
“Why can’t we see her now?” Cindy asked.
“They wanna give her time to rest.” Wally said to his sister-in-law “They said she’s probably not ready yet, to see any family. He said she might be a little embarrassed.”
“I understand” Carol said
“Yeah, so do I.” Cindy chimed in.

The next day, Wally, Cindy, and Carol finally got to see Marcia. They all went in together at 9:30 after spending a grueling night at the hospital.
“Hi honey” Wally said to Marcia.
“Oh Wally” Marcia started to cry “I’m SO sorry!” She hugged Wally “I’m so embarrassed. I have it easy. That Shantal girl didn’t have it nearly as easy as I do. I was being stupid.”
“No” Carol said “You weren’t, you just let something convince you to a point that you had so much pain inside.”
“Well” Marcia started “I’m going to have to go to counseling. At least I’ll get out of the house more.”
“Don’t feel bad, baby” Wally said “We’ll get through this...together.”

NOTE: Marcia B. Logan was played by Leah Ayres who also played Marcia in "The Brady's", the short lived drama about the bradys.
