Hey, are there any Card Sharks fans out there? Did you know that Pearson television is developing a new Card Sharks for this fall 2001? If you don't know, Pearson tv is in charge of the current Family Feud with Louie Anderson and To Tell the Truth, and of course, the ill-fated and awful to watch Match Game 98 with host Michael Burger. This fall, a top prize of $50,000 is possible to win!

I heard about that
![]() Unfortunately, I also have heard how they mutilated the format ![]() If they're gonna do a new show, they need to keep it like, the Eubanks version. I love the Perry version, but if they're gonna do a CS revival they need to do it like that. the way things are, they could probably even get away with using the theme from the Eubanks version. In most markets this fall, it's being packaged with Family Feud and To Tell the Truth. Personally, I''m looking forward to the revival of the $100K Pyramid. -Seth "Aces and duces are good to get Stay away from those eights, or you lose the bet on Card Sharks!" |

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the new Pyramid, but I'm a little wary, since the original production team isn't involved (the 70s, 80s, and 90s versions were produced by the same people). As far as the other shows that you mention, I think Pearson has a terrible track record of butchering the Mark Goodson shows. I'd like to see a revival of "Password", but unfortunately, it would have to be done by Pearson.

True. I seen a screenshot from a taping of a pilot at randy amasia's site ( http://www.krinklecommunications.com ), and if only they'd get away from them millionaire-stlye look, the show could run a long time. I think (believe it or not) Donny's got some potential to be a good host.
...Oh no, what have I done, I've introduced more people to randy amasia. This can't be good............ lol anyway, ignore the last bit of stuff and read the first paragraph. One other tidbit. It was originally made for $1 Meeeeeeeeelion (Million) Dollars. But the format was too hard/cofusing so I've heard they've went back to classic Pyramid (except for that *beep* Moroninaire (Millionaire) set. BTW: I juist realised where I've seen the millionaire set before. It's almost identical to the center area where VGER was in Star Trek I (movie) I watched a tape of that and noticed it. Card Sharks is my all-time favorite game show!!! I could not believe how hooked I became last year when I started catching it on GSN.
Jim Perry is the best. I can't believe that they actually brought it back in 1986 with Bob Eubanks to host!!! Yuck!!!! At first, I was ecstatic about hearing the news that once again they are going to bring back a new version, but I think it's going to be totally different from the first games. Does anyone know any of the rules? I do know that some guy by the name of Pat Bullard (I think?) is going to host. |

Card Sharks (2001) will be airing in syndication along with Family Feud and To Tell the Truth in most markets.
Does anyone know if Pyramid will be syndicated or a network series? ------------------ Patrick Webmaster Classic TV Favorites Classic TV Discussion Forums |

Let's start with the fact that the Pyramid is currently being sought out to stations for syndication in the 2002 and 2003 season, and the series has yet to get a firm GO, so there is no guarantees we will see it. (If we do, we'll probably see it with the syndicated Millionaire and Weakest Link).
Furthermore, the game was not only originally a Million Dollar show (and no, they didn't drop it because it was "too complicated"), but when they pitched that version to NBC, it never picked it up. However, two pilots were made at the SAME TIME for a 100k Version, and parts of those were put together, and are being presented for syndication. |

Anyway, Pyramid least has a better shot than the 2 previous pilots (97 and 98). They got a decent host (donny Osmond), and they returned things to the classic format. |
