Default New Information received from 1974 Jet Magazine on Good Times not being a spinoff

Info i received Today that supports that GoodTimes is not a spinoff is that Good Times was Basically about the life Eric Monte, show Creator, lived in Cabrini Green Projects in the city of Chicago. So after reading that info, it's no way Good Times can be connected to Maude because his life experiences has nothing at all to do with the State of New York. So it seems like there was an error when writing the script because they didn;t change the name of Esther Rolle's character like the did with John Amos character. Location is not an issue because it was a Different Show.

I don't know Solomon if you are pretending to be this ignorant or if this is really you. Everybody knew that Good Times was based on Eric Monte's life. That still doesn't change the fact that Florida Evans was a character on Maude and then moved over to GT. Open your eyes.

Only the premise of the show reflected his life. Florida Evans was NOT someone from his life. It was a character created by Norman Lear. Wake Up Already Solomon! THE END

PS, You have yet to give me an INTELLIGENT answer as to why they kept the name Florida Evans for Good Times when viewers recognize that character as a former maid of Maude.

I guess Solomon you DON"T have an explanation. Therefore your claims are utterly ridiculous and laughable.

Keeping the name Florida Evans was a HUGE error because it was clear since the location was in another state, that her name had to be changed. Whoever was in charge of naming the characters forgot what the show was really about.

That is what you call an intelligent answer?!? A high paid script writer didn't realize what type of show he was writing for? And that NOBODY corrected him and made a change?!?! Are you serious?

Look the main point is, Henry Evans was inside Maude's house and his name was changed which should tell you that Esther Rolle's character name was supposed to be changed too. I can't believe Norman Lear didn't see the HUGE ERROR in developing Good Times.

That's because it WASN'T an error. It was a FRACTURED spinoff. They all knew what her name was.
