There was a show called Madams Place. A rich old lady (played by a dummy). Her beautiful niece and her driver and other workers lived with her in a huge house.
Just wondering |

Do I remember "Madam's Place"? Hoo-hoo, do I ever!! Especially her niece, played by the fabulous Judy Landers, whom the producers found a way for her to run around in skimpy outfits!!!(*sigh*)

"Madame's Place" was on every night (M-F) before "Entertainment Tonight" where I lived. I remember she scared the living daylights out of me because she was absolutely scary looking!! On her show, she was also the host of a talk show that was taped at her house, (and many famous stars would stop by on the show). If you have the Game Show Network, she usually made appearances on "Hollywood Squares" in the 70's. I do know that her ventriloquist died some 10 years ago.

Madam appeared in numerous TV shows back in the 60's 70's 80's......... The original man that use to speak for her died many years ago.

Well if that's the show you're talking about, yeah, sure I remember it. I use to watch it every Saturday night around midnight or 1 am. I use to think it was hilarious. My roommate and I use to laugh ourselves silly over this silly OTT show.

Madame and her puppeteer, Wayland Flowers, were TV celebs throughout the 70s and early 80s. In 1982, Madame got her own TV show, centering on her life as a famous talk-show host. The show was played as if Madame, the puppet, were a real person and she'd often give Dame Edna-ish interviews with celebrities at her studio, which was within her own mansion. In addition to the aforementioned Judy Landers (who played her neice), a supporting role was filled by '80s teen heart-throb Corey Feldman. The show was aired 5 days a week in syndication from 1982-1983, then later turned up on USA in the mid-80s. 150 episodes were produced. Wayland Flowers died from complications of AIDS in 1988.

That was a very funny show with one of my all time favorite sex symbols in the cast. Judy Landers made my Sunday nights back then. I haven't saw her lately, maybe she's a full time mom now (2 daughters). I used to write to celebrities a lot and I got a picture back in 10 days! I couldn't believe it. She wins the prize in my book. I heard Jayne mansfield was the same way, she used to greet fans who came by her house like she knew them personally. I'd love to buy some episodes just to remember the times.

The show also featured Johnny Haymar who played Sgt. Zale on M*A*S*H for a few years.
Aw who cares! We were all looking at Judy...
