January 9:
JOAN ATTEMPTS TO REACH OUT TO ADAM WHEN SHE LEARNS HE MAY BE SUICIDAL, ON "JOAN OF ARCADIA," FRIDAY, JAN. 9 "Jump" -- Joan attempts to intervene when she discovers that Adam may be considering suicide, on JOAN OF ARCADIA, Friday, Jan. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Timothy Busfield directed the episode that was written by Hart Hanson. Joan is saddened to learn that Rocky, the ill child for whom she babysat, has died -- and ponders the eerie dream she had the night prior during which Rocky appeared in her room before turning into a departing Adam. Soon Joan discovers that Adam may be contemplating suicide, after which she desperately tries to mend her broken friendship with him in order to prevent him from sharing the tragic fate of his own late mother. Meanwhile, as a result of Will having bravely revealed the corruption within the governing bodies of Arcadia, the governor chooses to dissolve Arcadia’s local government -- which, ironically, causes Will to lose his job. Additionally, sexual tension between Kevin and his boss, Rebecca, heightens. Elodie Keene directed the episode that was written by Executive Producer Barbara Hall. David Clennon ("The Agency," "thirtysomething") and Jay Thomas ("Love and War," "Murphy Brown") guest star, respectively, as a spa employee and spa guest. As an acknowledgement of their father’s recent job-related difficulties and their parents’ long overdue time away together, Joan, Kevin and Luke choose to surprise Will and Helen with a spa weekend getaway. Unfortunately, Will’s preoccupations with what’s happening back on the job without him get him agitated enough to make the spa anything but a peaceful place to be. Meanwhile, the less than socially adept Joan and Luke muddle through their plans to throw a party, and Joan and Adam try to determine what, if anything, to make of their kiss at the science fair. Also, Rebecca encourages Kevin to pursue a career in writing. Guest Stars: Adam Rove Christopher Marquette Grace Polk Becky Wahlstrom Gavin Price Patrick Fabian Lt. Det.
