Default How come Lamont did not appear in Sanford?

Does anyone know why Lamont did not appear in the show Sanford. I know Fred was living with a guy named Cal played by Dennis Burkley as his junk business partner. What happened to Lamont in the storyline?

In the storyline, it was said that Lamont was working on the pipeline in Alaska.

On Sanford Arms-it was explained that Fred and Lamont were in living in Arizona
