Wasn't the sitcom "Out Of This World"
on for less then a year? Why was it cancelled?

Out Of This World was on for four seasons. It ran from 1987 to 1991. I don't know why it was cancelled but it had probably just run its course. I don't think the ratings were ever very high.

It was produced for syndication rather than a network, and most scripted shows (sitcoms, dramas) produced for syndication stop production once they have enough episodes for reruns. They don't have a network paying a license fee, so there's no reason to keep going once they can sell the show as a "strip" (reruns five days a week).
