That was All in The Family, on the Jeffersons he was unfunny and useless. It was George's show because he was actually funny.

I saw All in the Family.

The point is The Jeffersons spinoff was about George and Louise- they were the MAIN characters and there is no doubt about that as the premise. Lionel was just a supporting character and always was meant to be in the background.
