Garfield & Friends is coming to Toon Disney this September, airing weekdays at 3:00 a.m. E/P. More info on the September schedule will come, but here is a little synopsis of the series airing as regulars:
TOON DISNEY SEPTEMBER 2003 SERIES: “Aladdin” TV-Y Weekdays (6:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (3:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., ET/PT) Based on the popular motion picture, this series takes viewers on a magic carpet ride to adventure with the brave and resourceful Aladdin (voiced by Scott Weinger), his spirited fiancée Jasmine (Linda Larkin), the ever-popular Genie of the Lamp (Dan Castellaneta who also voices Homer Simpson) and the obnoxious parrot Iago (Gilbert Gottfried). Guest voices include Jason Alexander, Bebe Neuwirth, "Downtown" Julie Brown and Jonathan Brandis. “Bonkers” TV-Y7 Daily (2:30 a.m., ET/PT) The character of Bonkers D. Bobcat, first introduced in segments of “Raw Toonage,” is an off-the-wall, wildly enthusiastic recruit for the Hollywood Police Department, Toon Division. He over-zealously tracks down cartoon criminals with his gruff human partner Detective Lucky Piquel. “Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers” TV-Y Daily (5:30 a.m., ET/PT) Weekdays (12:00 Noon, ET/PT) The venerable chipmunk pair are leaders of a secret international organization devoted to tackling unsolved mysteries and oddball crimes. Other members of the Rangers include Monterey Jack, Gadget and Zipper, as they battle Fat Cat and his cohorts. “Darkwing Duck” TV-Y7 Weekdays (2:30 p.m., ET/PT); Daily (1:30 a.m., ET/PT) When the ordinary Drake Mallard dons a mask, hat and cape, he becomes swashbuckling crimefighter Darkwing Duck. With his sidekick Launchpad McQuack and adopted orphan niece Gosalyn, Darkwing saves the streets of St. Canard from imminent disasters. “Disney/Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear of Star Command” TV-Y7 Weekdays (8:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., ET/PT); Monday – Thursday (5:30 p.m., ET/PT) Whereas the film “Toy Story” introduced the Buzz Lightyear character as an action figure come to life (courtesy of Pixar Animation Studio’s computer animation), “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command” presents the traditionally animated television series upon which the toy was based. The series focuses on Buzz Lightyear’s adventures as he patrols the galaxy with his team of Space Rangers, battling evildoers “to infinity and beyond.” “Disney’s Doug” TV-Y Weekends (8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., ET/PT) A long-time favorite among kids, parents and critics, “Disney’s Doug” follows the trials and tribulations of average kid, Doug Funnie, and his friends as they face the ups and downs of growing up. Under the creative direction of Jim Jinkins and David Campbell, “Disney’s Doug” is about a regular kid dealing with real kid issues. Set in the fictitious town of Bluffington, the series features a colorful (literally) cast of characters including Doug; his loyal canine companion, Porkchop; Doug’s secret sweetheart, Patti Mayonnaise; his best friend, Skeeter Valentine; and school tough guy Roger Klotz. “Disney’s Fillmore” TV-Y Monday – Thursday (7:30 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (7:30 p.m., ET/PT) Schoolyard justice has a hip, new defender in Safety Patrol Officer Cornelius Fillmore, the title character of the animated series, “Disney’s Fillmore!” The series captures the essence of the great 1970s cop shows in the guise of a smart, quick-witted seventh-grader out to stop crime in its school-age tracks. “Disney’s Hercules” TV-Y Daily (12:30 a.m., ET/PT); Weekdays (6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (4:30 p.m., ET/PT) Rescue an Amazon princess? Piece of cake. Match muscles with the mother of all monsters? Easy breezy. Cram for an exam ... and find a date for the dance? Athens, we’ve got a problem. “Disney’s Hercules” is an outgrowth of Disney’s 1997 animated feature film which chronicled the lifelong exploits of the mythical hero. The series expands upon the Greek demigod’s feats during his formative, hero-in-training, “high school” years. “Disney’s House of Mouse” TV-Y Weekdays (9:00 a.m., ET/PT); Monday-Thursday (5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., ET/PT); Sunday (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) Billed as “the tooniest place on Earth,” “Disney's House of Mouse” is the gathering place for animated characters. Hosted by Master of Ceremonies Mickey Mouse and his longtime quintet of pals, the "nightclub" provides "staged" entertainment for a very-recognizable audience. From Winnie the Pooh and Jiminy Cricket to Hades and Jafar, the clientele comes into the "House of Mouse" to enjoy musical guests, cartoon shorts and Mickey's comical introductions from the stage. “Disney’s Lloyd In Space” TV-Y Monday – Wednesday (6:00 p.m., ET/PT); Sunday (11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., ET/PT); “Disney’s Lloyd in Space” follows the humorous, day-to-day dilemmas of Lloyd, a space station-bound, alien teenager who must - as all teens do - endure the often confusing transition toward adulthood. “Lloyd in Space” was created by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabahere, the creators of “Disney’s Recess.” “Disney’s Pepper Ann” TV-Y Weekdays (1:00 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., ET/PT) Pepper Ann is a spunky, quirky 12-year-old girl who has emerged center stage to star in her own animated series, “Disney’s Pepper Ann.” Inspired by the real-life childhood memories of series creator Sue Rose, “Disney’s Pepper Ann” combines a unique style of animation with slapstick humor and a personal sensibility to which kids, and adults alike, can relate. On an eternal quest for coolness, Pepper Ann gives us the inside scoop on life as a tween -- no longer a kid, not yet a teenager. “Disney’s Recess” TV-Y Weekdays (7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., ET/PT); Monday – Thursday (8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., ET/PT) “Disney’s Recess” follows a quirky group of fourth-grade friends as they dive into wild adventures, triumph over adversity and share the laughter and the wonder of self-discovery during everyone’s favorite time of the school day — recess. “Recess” comes from the team who helped create and produce the multiple Emmy Award-winning “Rugrats.” “Disney’s Teacher’s Pet” TV-Y Weekdays (4:30 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (9:30 p.m., ET/PT); Daily (1:00 a.m., ET/PT) Featuring an all-star voice cast including Nathan Lane, Jerry Stiller and David Ogden Stiers, “Disney’s Teacher’s Pet” is the hysterical tale of a boy and his dog, Spot, a talking canine that yearns for the education afforded his master. Spot disguises himself as a boy in order to attend school and, as the title suggests, become the teacher’s pet. “Disney’s Teamo Supremo” TV-Y Weekdays (4:00 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (10:30 p.m., ET/PT) “Disney’s Teamo Supremo” follows the adventures of a quirky triumvirate of superheroes: Captain Crandall, Rope Girl and Skate Lad, a group sworn to protect their state from the forces of evil ... and still finish all of their homework. “Disney’s The Weekenders” TV-Y Weekdays (10:30 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (6:30 p.m., ET/PT); Monday – Thursday (6:30 p.m., ET/PT); Sunday (12:00 Noon and 12:30 p.m., ET/PT) In “Disney's The Weekenders,” “four friends, two days and no worries” is the philosophy of a quartet on a quest for the “ultimate” weekend. Tino, Carver, Lor and Tish spend each weekend discovering and creating new levels of fun, while negotiating the obligatory obstacles of adolescence. From preparing for competitive sports and mastering the latest dance/music craze to coping with the comic anxiety of attending a party and surviving that first “crush,” the inseparable foursome help each other while bouncing around their Southern California beach community. “DuckTales” TV-Y Daily (4:00 a.m., ET/PT); Weekdays (11:30 a.m., ET/PT); Scrooge’s innate sense for making and finding money leads him to outrageous adventures in his Duckburg home and around the world. Also along for the amazing excursions are Webbigail Vanderquack, Gyro Gearloose, Mrs. Beakley and the villainous Beagle Boys. “Garfield & Friends” TV-Y Weekdays (3:00 a.m., ET/PT) “Garfield and Friends” is based on the comic strip characters created by Jim Davis. Each show features segments and blackouts starring either Garfield and his comic comrades (Jon, Odie, Nermal and more) or the U.S. Acres gang (Orson, Wade, Sheldon and others). Garfield is one of the most popular comic strip and merchandise characters in the world. Created in 1978 by Davis, Garfield is the fat, lazy, lasagna loving pet of Jon, a cartoonist. Also part of the family is Odie, a very simple-minded dog. When Garfield isn’t eating and sleeping, he’s usually abusing Odie physically and mentally. Other regulars included Nermal, the world’s cutest kitten, and Liz, a veterinarian that Jon has romantic interest in. “Gargoyles” TV-Y7 Daily (11:30 p.m. and 12:00 Midnight, ET/PT); Weekends (3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., ET/PT) The series features a band of powerful, mythical creatures who once guarded a medieval Scottish fortress but have since been transported to present-day Manhattan. At night, these courageous guardians come alive to protect the city from an assortment of treacherous modern-day barbarians. “Goof Troop” TV-Y Weekdays (12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., ET/PT); Disney's lovable superstar Goofy is now a man of the '90s, a single father living in suburbia with his 11-year-old son Max, who wants to be much cooler than his dad. The two cope with misunderstandings and misadventures, often complicated by their next door neighbor Pete. “The Legend of Tarzan” TV-Y7 Weekdays (8:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., ET/PT) Monday – Thursday (7:00 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) A sequel beginning where the 1999 film left off. Tarzan and Jane are happily living in a tree house in the jungle, while her father, Professor Potter, lives in his scientific hut nearby. As Jane teaches Tarzan about civilized life, he teaches her about his jungle ways. They share a sense of curiosity and adventurous spirit; she’s his missing link to a world he never knew existed, and these worlds are constantly clashing, with often humorous results. Tarzan had pledged to his noble father Kerchak that he would protect the family. As Tarzan matures, he realizes that to do this, he must protect the jungle as a whole. “The Little Mermaid” TV-Y Weekdays (11:00 a.m., ET/PT); Weekends (5:00 p.m., ET/PT) Based on Disney's blockbuster, Academy Award®-winning animated film, this series serves as a "prequel" to the movie following the escapades of Ariel, the rambunctious daughter of King Triton, as a mermaid teen on a mission. “Madeline” TV-Y Weekends (6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., ET/PT) The smallest and bravest of 12 little girls in a Paris boarding school, Madeline leads her friends through daily adventures that include visits to the zoo, the ballet, the opera, a toy factory and a famous cooking school. This animated series is based on the classic 1930's children's books by Ludwig Bemelmans. “Mary Kate and Ashley In Action” TV-Y Weekends (7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., ET/PT) Mary-Kate and Ashley are Teenage Superstars who play Teenage Special Agents in this animated action-adventure series. Each show begins in live action, as the real Mary-Kate and Ashley prepare for their upcoming movie roles and then transition to animation. “Mary-Kate & Ashley In Action” is produced by DIC Entertainment in association with Dualstar Animation, a division of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Dualstar Entertainment Group. “Mighty Ducks” TV-Y7 Weekends (3:00 a.m., ET/PT) The series follows the adventures of six young half-human/half-ducks who not only play some serious hockey, but travel across the galaxy to save Earth from the wicked reptilian Dragaunus and his equally odious henchmen. “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” TV-Y Weekdays (9:30 a.m., ET/PT) This Emmy Award-winning series starring the lovable bear from the Hundred Acre Wood presents humorous stories about Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Christopher Robin and the other treasured characters from A.A. Milne's children's books. “Quack Pack” TV-Y Daily (3:30 a.m., ET/PT) Donald Duck (or Don as he’s called these days) stars as a cameraman for a cable entertainment news magazine, alongside his sweetheart, Daisy Duck, the news team’s independent and intuitive field reporter. Between work and looking after his now teenage trio of nephews, Don’s life is filled with difficult and sometimes impossible situations. “Sabrina, The Animated Series” TV-Y Daily (4:30 a.m., ET/PT); Weekends (6:00 p.m., ET/PT) Sabrina is a cute half-mortal, half-witch, and all-fun 12-year-old who wreaks havoc in her middle school with her well-intentioned meddling and hilariously miscast spells. “Sabrina” is produced by DIC Entertainment. “TaleSpin” TV-Y Daily (2:00 a.m., ET/PT) Baloo the bear and Louie the ape from Disney's The Jungle Book, star in this high-flying adventure, with Baloo and his sidekick Kit Cloudkicker heading a group of daredevil pilots who battle air pirates. They find mystery, intrigue and humor in the exotic setting of Cape Suzette, a huge bustling city in a tropic zone. “Timon & Pumbaa” TV-Y Weekdays (3:30 p.m., ET/PT); Weekends (10:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., ET/PT) Viewers join two friends from “The Lion King” in their hilarious African misadventures. The warmhearted warthog Pumbaa and his meerkat pal Timon continue their "hakuna matata" (no worries) lifestyle, which often gets them into loads of jungle trouble. “Toad Patrol” TV-Y Weekdays (10:00 a.m., ET/PT) Eight toadlets miss the great migration and set out on a perilous journey through the treacherous forest. Join Slippery Jack, Puff Ball, Beauty Stem, and the other members of the Toad Patrol as they evade hungry snakes, shoot rushing rapids, outrun forest fires, and creep through toadstool graveyards - all in an effort to find the mystical Fairy Ring and reach the safety of Toad Hollow. “Toad Patrol” is produced by Toadbag Productions, Inc. “101 Dalmatians” TV-Y Weekdays (10:30 a.m., ET/PT); Daily (5:00 a.m., ET/PT) Picking up where the classic Disney animated feature left off, the series brings together Pongo, Perdita and their 99 puppies with the villainous Cruella de Vil for amazing exploits and heartwarming adventures. |
