Titled “The Doctor Is Out” and originally airing on October 29, 2003, this installment was penned by Ellen Byron & Lissa Kapstrom and directed by Ken Levine. It’s a great sample of the series because it reveals the differences between the two families, as the girl’s fathers throw a Cole Porter-themed Halloween party where everyone must use his songs/shows as inspiration for their costumes — a concept totally foreign to the guy’s blue-collar Boston parents.
