View Full Version : Opposites attract...thoughts?
TCLover88 02-10-2004, 09:47 PM hey u guys. wuts up? what did you guys think of the episode
"opposites attract" part 1 ?
i loved it. And jonathan taylor thomas looks so different than from the last time i saw him..which was in 1998 or so on Home Improvement. His hair color has changed and also he has gained some weight! I dont really like the fuller look on him. I used to think he was so hot on Home Improvement. he still looks sorta cute but chubbier.
Honda Rider 02-11-2004, 02:11 PM I personally didn't find it very funny. I thought a couple of Kaley Cuoco's lines were funny, and the asperin bit was pretty funny, but other than that, pretty bland. When Ritter was on, he could compensate for the lack of good writing on the show, with his timing and his sight gags. Now it seems the cast is relying on third-rate writing to get the laughs. I'm sorry to say it, but I think the show is on it's downward spiral.
HDfanLiz 02-11-2004, 02:18 PM I thought it was really funny. I'd pick out a favorite part, but I liked pretty much the whole episode. I'd say it was one of the best post-Ritter episodes the show has had.
Chain Gang Member 02-11-2004, 04:51 PM I'll be doing this every week after the show

BowWowsBreezy 02-11-2004, 05:07 PM Honda Rider for the win
the show is on it's downward spiral.
I will disagree!
X GETS THE SQUARE lol sorry I had to do it, just my of saying i totally disagree. I thought the episode was cute and funny at the same time.
IpsoPhatso 02-11-2004, 05:24 PM I loved it. I enjoyed the whole episode, and I think it sets up a great 2nd part next week. :)

wolf paws 02-12-2004, 02:05 AM I agree with TClover88 about JTT's looks. I have to say that he looka a little cuter without the glasses, and he was a lot cuter on Home Improvement in later episodes. I thought this episode had some funny moments, as well as blah moments.
Honda Rider 02-12-2004, 02:20 PM Sorry if you disagree, but I still see it on the downward slant. I didn't recall Martin Spanjers getting any funny lines, and the laugh track didn't fool me at all. I don't think it came close to being one of the best post-Ritter shows, and I don't think they've been nearly as good since the transition period. I think it's one of ABC's better sitcoms, but I still think it's become just mediocre at best.
TCLover88 02-12-2004, 10:54 PM there was a laugh track? i thought it was a live audience!
do u think part 2 will be any good?
IpsoPhatso 02-12-2004, 11:58 PM There is a live audience, no laugh track.
Honda Rider 02-13-2004, 12:31 AM I guess I was wrong about the laugh track. I still think the writings kind of weak, but I might be a little biased, since I'm used to comparing them to classics like 'Three's Company' and 'All in the Family.' Not that many sitcoms can stack up to them these days.
TCLover88 02-13-2004, 06:02 PM ya thats wut i thought.
your rite honda rider not many shows do stack up 2 Threes Company or All in the Family.
i dont think any show was funnier than TC.

i agree with u on the jtt's think, but the odd part is i just watched him in smallville about a month ago and he was really cute, so i dont understand how all of the sudden he wasnt as cute anymore.
TCLover88 02-14-2004, 02:41 PM Chekadude: maybe when you saw him on smallville it was a re-run. also on tv shows they can make someone look as ugly or as cute as they want to.
FrithFan89 02-14-2004, 05:55 PM oh i saw both but i am talking about the second one. and i know they can make people look ugly but i never heard of making them look chubbie. but thanx for the help
TCLover88 02-15-2004, 01:51 AM lol ur rite. cant make ppl chubby but i mean with the glasses and stuff.
FrithFan89 02-15-2004, 05:27 PM yea i get wat ur sayin and ur write part of it was the glasses

Oh I understand that completely. All in the Family is my favorite sitcom ever, there was never an episode that Archie was in, that wasn't funny. No matter how serious the subject, now matter how serious the line's context was, HE made it funny. I own the 2nd season on DVD, and this morning I watched the Sammy Davis comes to visit episode. I can not believe how much I laughed throughout it. Overall at least 50% of the time was JUST laughing. I can not believe how funny Archie was. :)
