Please vote and give your reasons here. :) Kristen 01-30-2004, 10:05 PM Sophia may not be the best mother in the traditional sense, but she's a good mother. She really does love Dorothy, as well as Rose and Blanche. Plus you can't beat her "Picture it, Sicily...." stories  Kristen FamilyTiesGOP 01-30-2004, 10:35 PM Originally posted by Jen1982 Elyse Keaton, because she cared about her family very much. She had time for her kids and she loved them. Her kids came first and I think that's important. She also had a very good relationship with her husband which is important. Ditto everything and the fact that she is very beautiful too!!!!!!!!!!!! dandelion wine 01-31-2004, 01:31 AM Elise Keaton BowWowsBreezy 01-31-2004, 03:49 PM sophia, elise keaton annoys the sh*t out of me CarJackSnyder 01-31-2004, 10:30 PM sophia rossnrach4ever 05-11-2005, 07:06 PM monica... she was the one who made the dinners , celebrated the holidays and was the hostess. SitcomsOffline 01-28-2014, 03:17 AM How dare someone make a poll about "Favorite sitcom mother/mother figure" and not include Clair Huxtable? MacLeaper 01-28-2014, 02:37 PM What about Carol Brady? Or June Cleaver? I would vote for them, along with Marion Cunningham and Elyse Keaton and Claire Huxtable and Maggie Seaver and Angela Bower and Ellen Powell (and Julie Pembroke, for that matter- and Lillian) among my favorites. comedyfreak 01-28-2014, 03:29 PM Out of this list I chose Marion Cunningham, though my favorite is Margaret Anderson from Father Knows Best. Dude111 01-28-2014, 11:57 PM What about Carol Brady? Or June Cleaver?Man I forgot of those 2!!!!!! -- BOTH ARE EXCELLENT :) tlc38tlc38 01-29-2014, 10:11 AM I voted for Sophia but my favorite sitcom mom is Thelma Harper. Rookielove 01-31-2014, 11:37 PM Vivian Banks from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Fontaine 02-01-2014, 12:00 AM She may not have been an actual mother, but Aunt Bee from the Andy Griffith Show did the best mothering of them all! Dave_L 02-01-2014, 01:54 AM I couldn't vote because to me the best was Edith Bunker. As far as the maternal aspect of the character goes, she had many great mother-daughter scenes with Gloria. And also some nice motherly moments with Mike. (She's the only one that thin-skinned Mike could never truly lose his temper with.) And while I know the 9th season gets a lot of criticism, there are some good moments between Edith and her niece Stephanie that year. Sure, Edith told incredibly long stories that often didn't have a point to them, but she always managed to see the good in everybody; and she obviously had an unlimited amount of patience - a necessity for being married to Archie and living in a house with so many loud arguments going on. [RIP, Jean Stapleton.] AMackII 08-26-2019, 08:49 AM Marion Cunningham, she's best looking MA 08-26-2019, 09:15 AM Marion Cunningham hawkeye123 08-26-2019, 09:48 AM Sophia because she is hilarious.
