Dutabi84 01-28-2004, 05:40 PM Yes, Uncle Leo was Helen's sister. I don't think they ever said what her Maiden name, or Uncle Leo's last name was. Brian Damage 01-28-2004, 05:42 PM This is just a guess, but maybe it was Levine. Dutabi84 01-28-2004, 05:48 PM Originally posted by Brian Damage This is just a guess, but maybe it was Levine. Oh yeah, didn't someone mispronounce it as Levigne (LE-VEEN)? I remember an Artie Levine..who was that? Jerry's cousin? Brian Damage 01-28-2004, 05:55 PM Yes, Jerry introduced Elaine to his cousin Artie Le-veen. And Artie corrected Jerry and said his last name was Le-Vine. Maestro 01-28-2004, 06:32 PM Helen's maiden/Uncle Leo's last name were not revealed. Maestro 01-29-2004, 01:16 PM >>>For all it's worth, Uncle Leo's last name was never revealed either. All we know is that he's a brother of Jerry's mom ("The Kiss Hello"). But since we don't know her maiden name we're in the dark about Leo's surname. In the aforementioned "The Package," he signed for Jerry's delivery as "Uncle Leo." So even he refers to himself as such. (So in a single episode its writer, Jennifer Crittenden, puts a little spotlight on the fact that we don't know the complete names of these two recurring characters, having some fun with it in the process.) And in another episode, "The Bookstore," Kramer - not realizing at first to whom Jerry is referring by just "Leo" - mentions to him that he forgot his first name, "Uncle."<<< by pizzabagel sinatrastar 01-29-2004, 05:33 PM I have an alternate take on "The Package". After hearing Newman's reacation to seeing who signed for the package and seeing//saying Uncle Leo, I thought it would be very weird for Leo to identify himself as Uncle to the outside world, especially since his pride and joy seems to be his son Jeffrey rather than his nephew Jerry. So my thought is that Newman sees whatever name Leo signs, such as Leo Dingleberry, and just translates it into the name everyone knows Leo by, Uncle Leo. This of course assumes that Newman would know Leo's actual last name when seeing it on the form. Maestro 01-29-2004, 06:15 PM Possibly.... I think Kramer's response/dub-take on the Uncle thing makes the emphasizes to support pizzabagel's take. sinatrastar 01-30-2004, 12:23 AM perhaps, but Cosmo was so out of it he probably really though Leo's first name was Uncle. Need I remind you of "Lilly"? Dutabi84 01-30-2004, 12:25 AM Originally posted by sinatrastar perhaps, but Cosmo was so out of it he probably really though Leo's first name was Uncle. Need I remind you of "Lilly"? Yes please  sinatrastar 01-30-2004, 12:28 AM LOL Kramer thought Susan's name was Lilly. When she died he even said, "poor Lilly". He also called Elaine "Carrol" and George "Mike," but that was after he hit his head, or I think Joe Devola kicked him. |
