If you have eps of Sanford and Son from your local UPN station and TV LAND, do you agree that UPN versions are better? In my opinion, UPN version of Surprise Party is much better. Anyone else?

Unfortunately, the UPN affiliate here is not showing S&S at this time, and hasn't been for quite a while... NOt the same as NBC but better than TV LAND Lady T 01-26-2004, 01:10 AM Originally posted by Sitcom Analyzer NOt the same as NBC but better than TV LAND anything is better than Tv Land:rolleyes: TVFactFan 01-26-2004, 09:39 PM Originally posted by Mrs. R.N.HARRIS anything is better than Tv Land:rolleyes: You are right about that The Modfather 01-28-2004, 10:16 PM TVL Canada doesn't really cut the episodes up. I mean they say the "N" word in it with no edit. Dr. Jazz 01-28-2004, 10:47 PM Sitcom Analyzer, have you noticed in the episode where Fred, Lamont, & Rollo go to jail for almost being in a porno movie, there was a scene at the jail when the porno movie director, who was in the next cell, asks Fred for a lighter & Fred sticks his hand out the director, who appeared to be gay, grabs Fred's hand and won't let go. TV Land always cuts out that scene but on local stations they always show it. I taped that episode off a local Fox station & that's the only time I have seen that episode with that scene in it. Yeah My UPN version has that scene. Thank GOD for the local stations-LOL storrs19 02-08-2004, 02:34 PM Generally, the local stations have a better editing job. TVLand is too damn "PC". They cut references to gay people (ie. the director in the jail cell) and they are terrified to use "N__ger" on there. I mean, hell, if Redd Foxx and Sherman hemsley (on The Jeffersons) could say it on national tv 30 years ago... Come on TVLand. In the end, the best thing to do is just buy the dvds. For around $21 to $30 you can buy most any single season (that is available) from amazon.com. It is well worth it in my opinion. You get to see the shows the way they were meant to be and with none of the same old top 5 commercials that run over and over (credit cards, male/female enhancement pills, new cars, 2nd mortgages, and of course DEBT CONSOLIDATION to fix the first four.) TVFactFan 02-08-2004, 03:13 PM Originally posted by storrs19 Generally, the local stations have a better editing job. Unfortunately in Louisville, KY all they show are stupid court shows, dumb comedies from the 1990's and tons of informercialls, kind of like our PAX affiliate here too. Obviously, smoe cities have much better UPN affiliates than others.
