"was it good for you too?"

man, i hate a mystery. but for some reason, everybody has to use this idea for an episode.
agnes wins a contest for a murder train mystery with a famed writer. dave and maddie get stuck on the train and then invited to participate in the mystery.
the writer, jb harlin, is killed.
agnes begins to fall for the guy who ends up being the killer. best part of this, is when dave follows the killer on top of the train. he doesn't duck and meets a tunnel as he stands when he collides with it.

One of David's funniest quotes is in this episode when he says to Maddie, "Now let's back down there to episode 89 of Dynasty".
LOL I still crack up when he says that. Remember everyone was in one of the passengers compartments accusing each of murder.

I'm just noticing these older threads. This is not one of my faves of the early episodes, but the scene where Agnes hears Maddie and David in the bed is worth the whole thing.

Agnes: Do you want me to leave?

Agnes was kind of daffy but I get the feeling she saw the attraction between them right off the bat.

ok, this one had nothing about shakespeare, the three stooges, david and maddie, but don't worry, it did have david!
i love it when the rhyming receptionist needs a ride-
david:
say no more, maddie will be glad to take you
maddie:
addison, i have plans
david:
haven't you ever heard of midnight mass?

I liked this episode. Several of the lines in it made me laugh out loud (and still do to this day).

I always enjoyed that Allyce ended up marrying Vincent, and eventually had a child.

They are both unique - that's what made it such a great match.

Like Cybill said once about Roseanne - "we all come in different shapes and sizes". We should celebrate it. I happen to find Roseanne beautiful and a very gifted comedian. I never appreciated Roseanne's sitcom when it was on primetime, but now I watch it all the time. It was terrifically cast, and had wonderful writing.

Roseanne is cool! I used to watch her show all the time when I was a little kid. It made me laugh out loud and it still does right now:D

Just watched this episode for the very first time in my live and I have to say that I liked it very much:D This might sound like bragging but I knew who murdered J.D.H. right from the start:p I guess I just have a great judge of people LOL:D Or, that guy is a very good actor hmmm  ;)

The part with the bed is fantastic, loved it! And that YIIIIIHHAAAA on top of the train!

Only one thing got me left wondering, why did Maddie smile at the end? Was that because Agnes was singing:confused:

btw, The Next Murder You Hear was also great! David singing in that bar WOOOW!!

Still a fan I am:D

Up to the next one! The Murder is in the Mail!

I guess I'm not doomed afterall.

Even though Miss Dipesto isn't 100%, she really is a dear, and this episode highlights her.

I enjoyed this episode, it wasn't great tv, but it was fun and entertaining tv. (Frankly better than most of what is on tv now--Lost, Desperate Housewives and Medium not included.)

I haven't really focused on David yet. The one I have been focusing on is Maddie.

In the first four episodes I saw her incredible chemistry with men--four really different men.
And in this episode I was able to see her different kind of chemistry with women.
The former mistress of the man that was found dead walked up to Maddie on the train, and talked with her--and it was so nice and genuine between the two. And latter, with a completely different kind of woman--Miss Dipesto, Maddie was really charming and gentle with her.

Maddie has this presence and I like her. This kind of quiet strength that is just there.

My favorite part was Maddie and David comming out of the bed in the wall.

She is a great character, much more depth than you'd think at first. I really like her too

Hi I'm new here and was just reading through some of the posts. This wasn't my favorite episode but it did have some great lines, some of which have been mentioned already. Another great moment was when Maddie notices the train is moving:
Maddie: We are moving!
David: Do we have to, all my friends go to this school.

Maddie(grabbing David by the collar): Addison, you better figure out a way to get me off this train!
David: Lady, I will gladly get you off this train, I will throw you off this train if necessary, but kindly refrain from any physical contact that is not of an erotic nature.

Maddie: David I just don't think...
David(interupting): that's ok, you look good.

I love those lines also.

I also loved the scene in the railroad station when David and Maddie are supposedly dropping Agnes off. You see Maddie dressed to the nines for a date (causing David to be already jealous), but you also see David being jealous of a man that is walking around the station (bearded? I think) and pulling Maddie near to him -- then you see David check out a blonde and then Maddie giving him a look of disgust. It's quite a telling scene.

What's good for the goose is forbidden for the gander. :D

yeah Kismet, those were some great jealousy moments. I personally think ole Dave got them stuck on that train on puspose so he could have Maddie to himself and she couldn't go on her date. ;)

do you guys remember straight poop? there's a great outtake at the end where bruce and one of the guest stars (the prissy guy with the mouchetache) are fumbling around on a search and inadvertantly almost kiss. hysterical, and its ever since always been stuck in my head when seeing this show.

That, and the classic: D: "Do you feel something?" M: "That's my nail file pressed up against your ribs."

I agree about Maddie's softness with people -- I think people forget about that part of her alot b/c they think of how she always fights with David. Personally, I do believe that 8/10 times she's usually right. Unless its emotional stuff btw. them -- there she's usually always wrong.

That's interesting caitybelle, I think you might be correct there. Though so often in emotional stuff neither Maddie not David act or say how they really feel. If they did that would sawy the percentages a little!

I hear ya, Tamm. :) They really do a poor job of communicating the emos at reciprical times. Like he'll be all there, and she runs off, or she'll be ready, and he'll go date her cousin or something... very annoying. and i know that the writers must have (and on other shows, continue to) think that is like drama and stuff, but dude, seriously! I've lost count of how many shows i've watched where they jerk us around for the sake of "drama."

So someday, in the hypothetical alternative universe where i win the lottery and have enough cash to fund my own production company, I'm going to create a boy-girl show, have them fight and fall in love, then ask the public what they want to see, and pander to their (both the public and the characters') wants and needs. I figure the novelty of actually getting their cake and eating it too will make me millions. Mooo-ha ha ha.

Sorry. Channelling dr. evil there for a minute.
