Actually I'm thinking it was in an interview.
She said once she first moved out to Cali she got roles here and there, and one was as an extra on a spin off attempt which was going to be known as Eastlake...
I'll try to find the article and post it on here.

I wonder thought what the ratings of the first show woulda been like if Jo had been there with the other seven. And if they would've let Nancy McKeon go after season 1...

I don't know, I looked again and as far as I could tell it was definitely not her. But I may have been looking at the wrong person. I checked around though, and I don't think she was in it.
