"Hey." Stacy said, walking through the Division doors. Jinny, who was at her desk looked at this new girl.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Stacy."
Jinny looked her up and down, thinking what is this piece of trash was doing here, but she kept her thoughts to herself. "Jinny." She held out her hand, faking a smile.
"Is that with a E or I?"
"I."
"Nice meeting you. Excuse me. I have to go tell Cap. something." She knocked on Captain's door and went inside.
"Whore." Jinny said out loud, walking to her desk.
"Jinny." Magda laughed. "Be nice."
"How can I be nice when she's taking over CD's place?"
"Face it, you're not mad at Stacy, you're mad at CD for leaving."
"No. What I'm mad at is CD just leaft a note. I'm not worried about me. I can take it. But Nate is the one I'm worried about."
"Where is he anyway?"
"I don't know, but he shouldn't be alone right now."
Nate walked through the Division doors, looking like hell.
"Hey." He said dully.
"Nate. What's happening?" Magda asked.
"Nothing."
There was a minute of slience. Then, Stacy walked out of Cap's office. She saw Nate.
"Nate. How are you?"
"I'm fine! I just wish everybody would stop asking me that!" He stormed out of the room. Jinny looked at Stacy.
"Now look what you've done!"

"Stacy. Pick your partner."
"Jinny."
"What?" Jinny asked. "Hell no. I'm partners with Magda."

Jinny got out of her chair and walked in Caps office.

"Cap, how come you favor Stacy?"
"Because she's a new Cop so I want to show her we care."
"She's welcome here as the devil in Heaven!"
"Exsted, I'm this close to taking you off the force. Let me explain. Stacy's new here so I told her to pick a partner just for a few days until we can get everything setteled. Come on, Exsted. Be her partner. Just for a few days."
Jinny took a deep breath. "I don't know why I'm saying this but... alright. I'll be her 'partner.' "
"Good, here's your 1st case with her." Kate handed Jinny a case folder.
"You already picked out a case?"
"Read it."
Jinny looked at the case name on the tab. 'The Hilton Murder.'
"The Hilton Muder? That's the toughest case the force ever got. Are you sure Barbie can handel it?"
"That's why I picked the toughest case. To test her skills. If she solves the murder before you, you get to stay her partner. If you solve the murder before her, then you go back to Magda."
"Cap, I thought you said the partnership was only until we could get things setteled."
"I lied. Now, get started. I explained the whole thing to Stacy."
"Good. Because if I had to, I would have to use violence."

Jinny walked out of Caps office.
"So." Said Stacy. "Partners?"
"Yeah." Jinny faked a smile. "I'm going to go get lunch." She walked out of the room, grabbing her leather jacket.

Jinny gave the waiter her order (a glass of water, small glass of beer and a cheese burger with fries) when Stacy walked in Anchor Side.
"Jinny. Hey." She helped herself to a seat.
"What are you doing here?"
"I followed you."
"You're starting to scare me. You're not.... are you?"
"What?"
"You know. Gay."
"No. I just never had any friends back home. So I came here to start over."
"And out of 50 other States you came here?"
The waiter brought back Jinny's food. Stacy looked at it.
"You're arteries are gonna be clogged up if you eat all that grease."
"My mom's dead and I don't need you to take her place."
"Just trying to be a good friend."
"Stacy, we are not friends. We're never going to be friends!"
"Jin, I'm starting to get the feeling you don't like me."
"Did you figure that out by yourself?"
"Enjoy your meal." Stacy said, walking out of Anchor Side looking hurt.
"Exsted." Cap walked to Jinny's booth. "I heard everything."
"Cap, I'm sorry. But when somebody starts following me that's freaky. I had to do something."
"Exsted, do you want to know I like Stacy a little better?"
"Not while I'm eating."
"You're going to hear it anyways. Stacy was like me when I was little."
"You mean you were annoying, too?"
"Exsted."
"Joking."
"I'm going to give you one last chance for you two to get along. If I see something wrong, I'm taking your gun and badge."
"Ok. I'll be nice."

"Hey." Jinny walked into the Division. Magda and Stacy were there.
"Mag. I need a few minutes alone with Stacy."
Magda got from her desk and left the room.
"Stacy. Wanna go over the case?"
"Sure."
They sat around Jinny's desk and opened the case folder.
"Who's our suspects?" Stacy asked.
"Frank Jack. He lives nearby. It says he's divorced, has two kids one girl one boy. It also says he wasn't there for questioning."
"Why?"
"It says he was out of town, told by his ex-wife, Marcie." Jinny looked up from the Hilton Murder case folder.
"Who do they know the Hiltons?" Stacy asked.
"I don't know. I'm going to ask Mr. Jack now."
"I'm going with you."

Jinny knocked on the door. No answer. She knocked again. Finally, she kicked the door down.
The room was dark, even though it was sunny outside.
"Looks spooky." Said Stacy. Jinny was going to say something, but she kept her mouth shut.
"Hello?" Jinny called. "Mr. Jack? Police. We need to talk to you. Mr. Jack? I don't think he's home."
"Maybe he's upstairs, doing crack."
"That's the stuipest thing you said all day."
"Could be true."
"How?"
"Don't you watch CSI?"
"Why me God?" Jinny asked, looking at the ceiling.
All of a sudden, the door closed and somebody held a gun to Stacy's head. An arm came around Jinny's neck.

"Are you Frank Jack?" Jinny asked, remaining calm.
"Who wants to know?"
"The poilce do." Stacy said.
"Well you won't live long enough to find out." Frank was about pull the trigger on Stacy and choke Jinny when Jinny stepped on his foot.
Jack threw the women to the floor. Jinny found her gun. Frank held his gun at her. They pulled there triggers at the same time. Jinny missed Frank, but Frank shot Jinny.

"Oh." Jinny opened her eyes and tried to move, but she couldn't.
"Exsted." Said a woman's voice. "You're awake."
Jinny turned to her side. Captain Kate, Magda and Stacy were around her.
"How are you?" Magda asked.
"Fine." Jinny said weakly.
The doctor walked in the room.
"Excuse me. I have to check Ms. Exsted."
The women walked out of the room. A few minutes later, the doctor did too.
Jinny was about to go to sleep when she heard the door open. She turned to her side. CD was standing in the door.

"The one and only."
"What are you doing here?"
"I'll tell you later. Have you seen Nate?"
"Yeah. He's around here somewhere."

CD left the room, leaving Jinny with a confused look on her face.

"Hey, Cap."
Captain Kate looked up from Jinny and Stacy's case folder and saw CD. "CD?!"
"How've you been?"
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"I was in town and heard about Jinny. I came to give her my best."
"If Jinny hadn't got shot, were you plaining to come see us at the Division?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because I can't face Nate. Not what after I did."
"I think you owe him a face to face. Tell him why you did what you did. Leave a note and run out of town like a chicken with it's head cut off!"
"Cap, you-"
"Let me finish." Kate interuppted. "I wasn't too crazy about you and Nate at 1st, but I kept my mouth shut because I know Nate loves you."
"I'm going to tell him, just not know!"
"Now would be a good time."
"Where is he?"
"I think at his house."

Nate opened the door.
"CD?"
"Hey Nate. Can I come in?"
"Sure."
CD walked into Nate's house. They walked into the living room and sat on the couch.
"So how have you been?" CD asked.
"Can't complain."
"Liar. Cap told me you were depressed."
"Wouldn't you be to?"
"I'm sorry for what I did."
"Why? Why leave with out tellin me?"
"I don't know." Tears were in CD's eyes. "I was confused. Didn't know which way to go, where to turn."
"Turn to me."
"I didn't know it at the time. I mean, I just got shot, thought I was going to die. Alot of mess was going on. I needed to escape for a bit, not be known. Forgive me?"
Yes, I do. Don't leave me again." Nate hugged CD. They kissed.

Now, I'm not good at writing love stories. Rachel (a girl that I have a crush on) helped me write that part.

"I'm not going to fire somebody just because you blow back into town. I'm late for a meeting." She excused herself, and walked out of the room.

Nate walked into Anchorside, where he saw CD sitting at a tabel. He walked to her.
"Hey CD."
"Hey Nate." She took a drink of her beer. By what Nate could tell she'd been drinking alot.
"Are you ok?"
"Never better."
"Did Cap give you your job back?"
"No. They have a new cop. Stacy."
"So?"
"Exactly what I thought." The waiter brought her another beer. "Thanks." She raised her glass in the air. "Here's to Greg. Do we know a Greg, Nate?"
"I'd better get you home." He helped CD up and they walked out of Anchorside.

"Ever wonder how stars stay in the sky?" CD asked, laying beside Nate. "Or the moon."
"Why the sudden talk about the stars and moon?"
"I'm seeing 'em."
Nate laughed. "You'd better get some sleep. You can stay here tonight."
"Nate. Don't leave me. Hold me."
Nate smiled and held CD in his arms. They fell asleep.

The next day....

"Eat your breakfast, Ben." Magda said to her son. Her phone rang. Magda answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey. It's me."
"Hey, Jin. Everything ok?"
"Yeah. The doctor let me go. Can you come pick me up. He said I shouldn't drive."
"Sure. I'll be there in a few."
"Bye."
Magda hung the phone up and looked at her watch. "I wish your dad would get here."
Like magic, Gabe walked through the door.
"Daddy!" Ben hugged his dad.
"Hey, sport. Ready to go to that football game?"
"Yeah."
"Go to the car."
Benjamin walked out of the room.
"Magda." Gabe said. "How are you?"
"Good. Yourself?"
"Ok."
There was a moment of silence.
"I have to pick up Jinny." Magda said. "Have fun and tell Ben I love him." She left the room.

Jinny walked into the Division, followed by Magda.
"Welcome back, Exsted." Cap said.
The phone on Jinny's desk rang. Stacy answered it.
"Hello. SFPD."
All she could hear was breathing.
"Hello?"
Then the dial tone sounded.
Stacy hung up. "Nobody answered. All I could hear was breathing."
"Press *69." Cap said. Stacy did. "It says the caller's number is uknown." She turned to Jinny. "I'm not sure, but I think it's Mr. Jack."

Jinny kicked down Jack's door, holding her gun.
"Jack!! Come out and face me like a man. Jack!!"
"Jinny, be careful." Stacy said.
"I will. Be my back up."
Frank Jack jumped in Jinny's view holding a gun. Jinny fired and so did Frank. Stacy, too.
After a few shots were fired, Frank fell to the ground. Jinny and Stacy ran to him. Stacy check his pulse.
"He's alive but not for long."

"You killed a man, Exsted." Cap said. "Cops don't kill people."
"He was a bad guy. I'm pretty sure he killed those Hilton twins."
"But you don't know that for a fact. Now that one of our suspects is dead, we'll never know."
"Why are you always placing the crap on me. Stacy was there! She fired, too!"
"I'm not getting on to you. I'm upset because you just got out of the hospital. You could've died if that man shot you again!"
"But you didn't stop from going there, did you?" Jinny stormed out of Cap's office.
"Jinny, where are you going?" Magda asked.
"To kill myself or get a beer. I'm not sure yet!"

Jinny placed the glass of beer on the bar and closed her eyes.
"Hey, cutie!" Said a man a few seats down. Jinny opened her eyes and saw a man smoking.
"Hi." Jinny replied.
"Can I buy you a drink?"
"No. The last time a strange man buy me a drink we spent the night together."
"Which is why I want to buy you the drink."
"What part of NO don't you understand?" She turned to the bartender. "Let me have a Scotch." She looked at the man. He winked at her. "Make it a double!"

"I don't mean that! Cap's upset because we lost a suspect today. Me and Stacy both shot him but Cap's putting the blame on me!"
"Sounds like Stacy's ruining everybodys lives. I asked Cap for my job back and she said no because you already have Stacy."
"Cap said if I say a bad word against her, I'm fired. Maybe I should say something about the both of 'em."
CDs cell phone rang. She answered it. "Hello? Hey, Nate. Are you off? Ok, I'll be home in a few. Love you." She hung up her phone. "See you around Jinny." CD walked out of the bar.
"I'll be here." She took another sip of beer.

Jinny left the 'Out of the Way' bar and walked to her car. The window's were smashed.
"What the hell?"
A car came toward Jinny and it wouldn't slow down. Jinny ran for her life, thinking why the hell she chose a bar in the middel of nowhere to get drunk.
Once Jinny got on the main road, she jumped to the side and rolled down a hill.

"Nate I'm home."
"Back here CD."
CD walked to the bed room. Candels were burning, and music was palying. Nate got off the bed and walked to CD. They started kissing. The kiss became intense. They made there way toward the bed and started taking each other's clothes off.

Jinny pushed herself up and ran into the woods where she took out her cell.
"Stacy. It's me. I'm in troubel. Come get me."
"Where are you?"
"Heat Street. Outside the Out of the Way bar.
"Heat Street?! That's in the country."
"Don't you think I know that?! Now will you come and pick me up."
"I'm on my way."
Jinny hung her cell phone up and put it in her pocket.

What seemed like a few hours, Stacy pulled up to the Out of the Way bar. Jinny got in the car.
"What happened?" Stacy asked.
"I'll tell you later. Let's just go."
Stacy started her car.

A few minutes on the road Jinny noticed a car was follwing them. The car that chased her.
"Stacy drive fast."
"But-"
"Stacy, damnit, drive!"
"Not until you tell me what the hell is going on!"
"That car behind us chased me."
"And you're gonna keep running. That's not the Jinny I know. The Jinny I know hunts bad guys down, not run from 'em."
"Stop the car."
Stacy stopped the car.
"Be my back-up." Jinny got out of the car and walked to the one behind them.
The driver roll down the windows.
"Oh my God." Stacy said.
"What?" Jinny asked.
"That's the Hilton twins. I remember there picture in the case folder.
Jinny looked inside the car. A boy and girl were in it. They were the Hilton twins.
"Step out of the car slowly." Jinny said.

Nate turned over and looked at CD who was asleep. He smiled and stroked her shoulder. CD opened her eyes, looked at Nate and smiled. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
They kissed.
"CD." Nate sighed. "I know we haven't been dating that long, but would you marry me?"
CD thought for a minute. "Yes."

Rachel's favorite character is CD so she's writing all the CD/Nate parts.

Jinny, Stacy and the Hilton twins walked into a room where they were alone. They sat down.
"We thought you were dead." Stacy said. "Why aren't you?"
"We faked our death." The boy said.
"Why?" Jinny asked.
"To escape him. Frank Jack. He rapped my sister."
"Well he's been take care of." Jinny said. "Now I've got a question for your sister."
"She doesn't talk. The rape terrized her. She can walk just not talk."
"Where you there at the time?" Stacy asked.
"No. I was with my girlfriend."
"Stay here." Jinny said. "Stacy." Jinny and Stacy got up and walked out of the room.
"This is great. The only witness to the girl's rape and she's gone bonkers."
"Is being a cop always this tough?" Stacy asked.
"Believe me, it gets tougher."

The next day....

CD walked into the Division smiling.
"Hey."
"Somebody's happy." Magda said.
"I should be. Nate asked me to marry him."
"What?!" Jinny asked shocked.
"In two weeks."

Two weeks later....

"Jinny!! Are you ready?" CD yelled.
"Yeah. Damnit, why do I have to wear this?" She came out of the bathroom dresed in a green dress. "I look like Cinerella tripping on something."
CD laughed. "You look fine, Kermit."
"If I wasn't your best friend, I'd give you a certain finger."
"Funny. So, how are the Hilton's doing?"
"Alright I guess. They're at the jail right now. There court hearing's tomorrow."
The wedding march started to play in the back ground. Jinny and CD looked at each other.
"Ready?" Jinny asked.
"Yeah."
They walked out of the room.

Jinny walked down the aslie, wearing a fake smile. She looked at her fellow cops. They were crying and smiling at the same time.
A few minutes later, CD started to walk down the aslie. Nate turned and smiled at her.
When she got to Nate the preacher looked at the couple and smiled. He took a deep breath and began to talk.

"You may kiss the bride." The preacher ended. CD and Nate turned to each other and kissed. The crowd clapped.

The next day...

"Can you believe I cought the flowers?" Stacy asked.
"No. I can't." Jinny replied.
They walked to the Hilton jail cell.
"You ready?" Stacy asked.

The judge walked in the court room and the Hiltons, Jinny and Stacy stood. She tapped her gavel and they seated.
"The case of the Hiltons" The bailif said, giving the jugde the case folder. She looked at it and glanced at Hiltons.
"Faking death is serious. You kow that don't you?"
The Hiltons nodded.
"Good. Are the kids parents present?"
Jinny stood. "No, ma'am. They couldn't be reached." She sat down.
"Thank you. You seem to have no other crimal charges. You kids are to spend the rest of the night in jail. Case dismissed." She got up and walked to her chambers.
"That was short." The boy said.
"Since the man that rapped your sister is dead, this wasn't a real trial. Good luck." Stacy smiled and walked out of court.
"Keep in thouch." Jinny added.

"Exsted." Cap. said. "You may piss me off sometime, but your a damn good cop."
"I know."
"Stacy." Cap. turned to Stacy. "You're a good cop as well. Welcome to the Divison." She drunk the drink she had in her hand. So did everybody else.
"Congrats, Stacy." CD said.
"Thanks, CD. You too."
CD looked at Nate. They kissed.
"Enough with the kissing." Magda said.
"Cap." Stacy said. "I need to talk to you in private."
Cap followed Stacy to the bathroom.

"Stacy. What's goin on?"
"I'm leaving the Division."
"What? Why?"
"Because I know CD wants to be near her husband. And I'm not cut out to be cop."
"I'll miss you around."
"Me too."
Jinny walked into the bathroom.
"What's wrong?"
"Stacy's leaving." Cap said.
"Why?"
"CD." Stacy answered. "She needs to be close to Nate. And I know you and me haven't gotten along very well."
"When are you leaving?"
"Tomorrow."

The next day

Cap. hugged Stacy.
"Miss you." Cap. said.
Stacy, then got to Jinny.
"I don't hug." Jinny said. She extended her hand. Stacy gave hers. They shook hands.
"Give me bad comment before I go." Stacy said.
"What?"
"For old time shake."
"Alright. You heard her Cap. I wish you caught CDs flowers with your face."
Stacy laughed.
"Not one of my best ones. Give me time. Bye, Stace."
Stacy smiled and walked out of the Division.
Cap turned to CD. She gave CD a gun and a badge. "Welcome back."

Ohhhhh, yay, that was so beautiful and happy! I really love this fic. I like that Stacy LEFT, and CD and Nate are working together again, married, and living happily ever after!
