For a 1945 dime? I asked a man for change for a quarter, and he gave me two dimes and a nickel. One of them was an old dime, so old that it doesn't even have a president on it, but a woman. How much money do you think I can get and where do I turn this in?

That's a Mercury dime you have there. Unless It's in mint condition it is probably only worth a few dollars. It is definitely worth more than 10 cents partly because it has real silver in it unlike the Roosevelt dimes we have now. Can you tell what the mint mark is? If I were you, I would hang onto it. It's pretty cool that you found one still in circulation. All the ones I have were either handed down from my mom of bought at coin shows.

I have a lot of old change. Like 2 boxes full, and I have been holding on to it, because my dad gave it to me to keep when I was 8 or 9 years old, and maybe someday it will be worth something. I have got some old Civil War money, and some coins from the 1800's. Someday I might could sale all of it on ebay and make me a couple grand.:lol:

yeah my mom bought me a bunch of coins for chirstmas one year and it came with a mercury dime and a barber dime.

No, it's not a Canadian dime because it says "United States Of America" and "In God We Trust", just like regular coins, except that it has 1945 printed on it and has a woman on it.

It must be a mercury dime. One site has them listed from a $1.50 up to $38.00. The more expensive ones are the older ones. 1945 is the last year mercury dimes were minted. I think 1946 is when they became Roosevelt dimes.

Here is a picture of a 1942 Mecury dime.

All dimes and quarters minted before 1964 or 65 were pure silver which make them collectable!After that they were mixed with copper. Look at the rim of a quarter or a dime and you will see a band of copper in the middle. It is really hard to find these pure silver coins now as they have been hoarded by collectors.

Nobody wants your help. It's asinine, not "assinine" as you say, for you to think otherwise. You are intolerant of bad grammar and spelling. Having a good command of the English language does not make a person superior or even smarter than anyone else. I've worked with high-powered executives who were not great spellers or writers. I used to proofread their work.
If you read this thread, you will see that you corrected someone's spelling and added the sarcastic eyeroll. That's not helpful. It's insulting. When someone called you on it, you proceeded to insult the entire board.
You possess good grammar. Good for you. Now work on your manners, and you'll be all set.
To answer your question....what will get you banned is your abrasive, nasty attitude and constant nit-picking of people's posts.
