View Full Version : Cleaning CD's/DVD's?
Jack1000 12-31-2003, 10:55 PM Guys,
Any advice for the proper way to clean CD's/DVD's? Some of friends have disks that are very dusty and skip. Can you take a small amount of water, clean the disk from center to ege and than dry it off or will that hurt the disk or player?
I am told that no cleaners should ever be used and you should always wipe the disk in a straight line from center to edge.

Mijada 01-01-2004, 01:08 PM Water wont hurt them. If that doesn't work, there is stuff you can buy to clean and repair the discs.
mcgwirefan 01-02-2004, 03:30 PM Don't use water. Use Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, a very soft cloth, and work from the center toward the edges. Those repair things don't work.

YOU CAN TOO USE WATER. i used to spit on my brother's metallica "kill 'em all" cd all the time and i cleaned it off with water like a year later and it plays just fine. actually it played fine even when it had my spit on it.
