I think Roseanne will be remembered as a show that defined TV in 1990s. As Lucy Ball defined TV in the 1950s and 1960s, Carol o Conner in 1970s, Cosby in the 1980s:D

View Full Version : Roseanne's Place in TV History douglasjc 12-11-2003, 10:18 PM I think Roseanne will be remembered as a show that defined TV in 1990s. I think it began to get controversial and people talked about it in the 1990's JulieSomoski 11-25-2004, 01:43 PM i was reading the top 100 of shows of tv history, and roseanne was #12, the cosby show was #17 Will and Grace Fanatic 11-25-2004, 07:50 PM I think you are right. If you look back at each decade there was one or 2 tv shows that defined that decade. Roseanne and Seinfeld were the 2 for the 90's. brainlesschild09 11-25-2004, 10:18 PM I think it would be a good competition between seinfeld and roseanne. They were both on for 9 years. Roseanne was alot more contravercial but seinfeld had hilarious incredibly well-written episodes and it never got old. it was #1 in it's final season, and that's definatly saying something. I think that seinfeld would get #1 and roseanne would get #2. tylerjjj 01-04-2005, 06:41 PM True, but Seinfeld did not do so well its first few seasons, while Roseanne was a hit its first five seasons. Roseanne was rated great its first half, while Seinfeld was rated great its last half. Thats just how I see it. I do think Roseanne would be #1, but thats just my opinion. :) Mr.Blue 01-04-2005, 10:06 PM definatley roseanne for #1 (4 me at least) P.S.-Roseanne on dvd, Yay!! |
