These two shows are STALE now and it's time for some fresh classics. Happy Days has been on TV Land since the summer of 2002 and it feels like Sanford and Son has been on just as long because it's played 5 times a Day. It's time for something else to replace these two shows. I think Two good replacements would be

Maude and Laverne and Shirley. TV LAND IT"S TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!!!

Every episode of AG has to have been on TV at least 500 times now.

Happy Days is only on once a day -- at 8:00am. And I think TV Land started airing it in January 2002, not the summer. There are lots of shows coming to TV Land in January, so Sanford & Son won't be airing 4-5 times per day.

Anyway, Andy Griffith and Sanford & Son are two of TV Land's highest rated shows. No chance of them leaving anytime soon.

It would be nice to see Alice. Maude and Laverne & Shirley have already aired on TV Land. It would be nice to see a return though. I personally would like to see One Day at a Time and What's Happening!! on TV Land.

What's Happening could probably be in the TV LAND Kitschen like Welcome Back Kotter since it only lasted 3 years.

Pav is it really true that Maude has not done well in syndication?

I don't understand why Kotter is in the Kitschen anyway. It had close to 100 episodes, while shows like Gidget have under 35 and aired on the regular lineup--Twice as Nice even!

Do you mean regular local syndication for Maude in the 70's? If so, I'm not sure. It's only airing on one or two locals right now, if I'm not mistaken.

Andy Griffith high-rated? OK... I was afraid of that. I just can't get into black and white shows.

I am not sure, it did air for a while at 11 p.m. or so. Maybe later on it did not do well, then it was reduced to a morning slot or late night only I think.

I am soooooooo sick of Andy Griffith, Leave It To Beaver, Happy Days, Gilligan's Island, and The Brady Bunch. God, would they give these shows a rest for a year or so and bring on something we haven't seen in forever like Alice, What's Happening, One Day At A Time, The Addams Family, and WKRP (daily, not twice a week). That would be so nice for a change, but I'm not holding my breath. What really ticks me off is LITB is now back on twice in the afternoon, while Mr. Ed, which hasen't even been on 3 months yet is only on at 9:30am and 3:00am EST. Stupid !!!!!

The problem with TV Land is they show some of their shows too many times in a day and you get sick of them. I think each show should only air once a day. That way there would be more room for more shows.

Even though I am a fan of Sanford and Son..I would not be heart broken if Tv Land decided to take the program off the air; it is over played and I have seen every episode more than three times...I would like to See Tv Land add new shows that the viewers have not seen in a while, like The Jeffersons, Maude or Chico and the Man...or bring back The Odd Couple..just something different....

Here's some shows I would love to see on TVLand or N@N.
I don't quite know where they fall in the grand scheme of things (i.e. these are newer than the "classics" yet not new enough to be "Modern TV Classics") but I grew up watching most of these and would love to see them again.

What's Happening, Gimme A Break, Differen't Strokes, Silver Spoons, Mr. Belvedere, One Day At A Time, Alice, Mork & Mindy, Dukes of Hazzard.

Most of these shows ran in the time span from 1975 to 1989, so they kind of overlap both boundries and I guess that is why no one shows them. You all know that horrible rotten "D" word. That is why there is no more variety in radio either. You either listen to one kind of music or constantly change the station :(

I disagree. I think both Happy Days and Sanford and Son should stay on TV Land as long as they can. What can I say? They are CLASSICS! Anyways . . . I do agree that they should cut down on Sanford and Son some. 4x times plus a marathon each week is a bit too much for a show that only has 136 episodes.
I think they should rid of Leave it to Beaver altogether. That show has been on that channel for YEARS, it's time to give it a REST. Personally, I am so sick of that show. It's so overrated if you ask me. What they need to do is air Dennis the Menace instead. Now that's a timeless classic!

I agree with you SOLOMON. It's seems like I keep seeing the same Sanford and Son episodes over and over again.

I think they need to get rid of these shows for a while...a year or two at most.

Happy Days
Sanford and Son
Leave it to Beaver
I Love Lucy
Andy Griffith
The Brady Bunch

And add these in their place.

Laverne and Shirley
The Jeffersons
Maude
The Odd Couple
Three's Company (It'll be the only 70's show left on N@N after AITF moves over; it won't fit N@N's current genre.)

As for N@N, get rid of Full House (It's on ABC Family), The Cosby Show (It's on TBS), and Roseanne (It's on Oxygen). And then the shows that are on N@N won't be seen on multiple channels. Keep Cheers (SpikeTV would stop airing it with this schedule), Wings, and Family Ties. Then add Gimmie a Break, Diff'rent Strokes, Silver Spoons, Night Court and ALF. Get rid of Prince, but keep Who's The Boss coming. Here's a good schedule (It's been snowing non-stop since 8AM, so I have time on my hands. I normally do have a life. :p) And let's move N@N up a half an hour. That way, you get at least one airing of every show before 1AM.

8:30PM - ALF
9:00PM - Silver Spoons
9:30PM - Diff'rent Strokes
10:00PM - Gimmie A Break
10:30PM - Who's The Boss?
11:00PM - Family Ties
11:30PM - Night Court
12:00AM - Cheers
12:30AM - Wings
1:00AM - ALF
1:30AM - Silver Spoons
2:00AM - Diff'rent Strokes
2:30AM - Gimmie a Break
3:00AM - Who's The Boss?
3:30AM - Family Ties
4:00AM - Night Court
4:30AM - Cheers
5:00AM - Wings

Now who can hate a schedule like that? Wings is sort of misplaced since it's the only show that's predominantly in the 90's, but it doesn't really have another cable home. And since Cheers is there, I figured I'd leave it and put them right after the other.

Maude and Laverne and Shirley would be VERY GOOD replacments for Happy Days and Sanford and Son

I haven't watch Sanford and Son in awhile because I saw most of the shows in a few months. I wish tv land would add Dukes Of Hazzard and Fall Guy. As for sitcoms they should add Gimme A Break, Chico And The Man, Maude and Silver Spoons.
