I don't know if this is a Thanksgiving movie, but TQS in Montreal aired the Extended 4 Hour Version of Dances With Wolves, on the Canadian Thanksgiving Day weekend. :)

Even though they are Christmas films but came out before and during Thanksgiving, Home Alone both 1 & 2.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and Home Alone and Home Alone 2. I don't consider those two Thanksgiving movies though.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The scene at the airport was sooo funny!

"Welcome to Marathon, can I help you?

Yes...

...How may I help you?

You can start by wiping that ****ing dumbass smile off of your rosey ****ing cheeks. Then you can give me a ****ing automobile, a ****ing datsun, a ****ing toyota, a ****ing mustang, a ****ing buick. 4 ****ing wheels and a seat!

I really don't care for the way you're speaking to me.

And I really don't care for the way your company left me in the middle of ****ing nowhere with ****ing keys to a ****ing car that isn't ****ing there. And I really didn't care to ****ing walk down a ****ing highway and across a ****ing runway to get back here to have you smile at my ****ing face. I want a ****ing car right ****ing now!

May I see your rental agreement.

I threw it away.

Oh boy.

Oh boy what?

You're ****ed!"

PS, I must add that this is a quote from the movie. Last time I quoted a movie, I was contacted by TJ soon afterward. :)

I watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles on the day before Thanksgiving every year. It still holds up. The scene at the airport with Edie McClurg was very funny. I'm glad our censoring system works.

Another good one set around Thanksgiving is Dutch (1991). It was written by John Hughes and stars Ed O'Neill and Ethan Embry. It was a box office bomb, but it has become a cult favorite. It's hard to find on DVD/Blu-ray and doesn't show up on streaming very often it seems.

Blood Rage (1987) "That's not cranberry sauce!" is one of the killer's lines.

Not a favorite, but there's also the early 80s Thanksgiving slasher Home Sweet Home starring Jake Steinfeld, and the film debut of Vinessa Shaw (who would go on to star in Hocus Pocus), but it does have an excellent tagline: This year, it's not the turkey being carved for Thanksgiving
