Well, on the dvd of About Schmidt, there is a cut scene that was filmed at our museum, Pioneer Village (aka P.Ville). Most of the movie was filmed around where I live. At imdb.com they give all the info if you click on filming locations. And in the movie Sarah, Plain, and Tall, ALL of the scene's of the town and the train station and the fancy houses were filmed in my hometown of Grand Island Nebraska at Stuhr Museum. For every single year of my freakin life I've been going to the museum not knowing that some of the movie was filmed there. I found out when I was 11. :p

In the first pic, I've stood in that spot with my sister!! It's in the train station.


Cool! We've got a Pioneer Village too in T.O.. I love going there - totally back in time - especially when surrounded by city! A friend of mine even held her wedding there - it was really beautiful.

We have lots of movies filmed here because its cheaper, and there are many neighbourhoods like look similar to Chicago or New York City.

Actually Cinderella Man was filmed here last summer. Crowe was seen bicycling all over town whenever he got free time.
There's an conservation area just south of me that they use to film a lot. I don't know who many times I'd be headed to work and rerouted because of film crews.

Yeah, we can swap vacations! :D I think we have the largest balloon fiesta in the entire world because we get so many foreigners visiting. We have those special-shaped balloons and even the the early freezing COLD mornings lighting and liftoffs. I'm ashamed to say I've never attended the balloon fiesta myself, despite I've lived here my entire life! :eek: I want to go! Yeah, the cow is cute, isn't it? ;)

1 -- There is still a Big Boy located here. I think it's like one of five still left in this state. Needless to say, it's a very popular fast food location. There are five McD's in the city & the lines at Big Boy easily beats any of 'em. :lol:

2 -- Part of downtown.

3 -- The river is within walking distance.

4 -- If you leave the city, you would typically see this sunset. So pretty. :)

I never saw the point of Meigs Field. I mean we have O'Hare for the Intl. flights and Midway for the domestic ones. Plus, why ruin downtown with having noisy planes flying over and trying to land?

Tho that doesn't stop with blocking noise form our house. We lives two blocks north of Midway, but we sort of got used to all the noise, lol.

Erie Canal Villlageee. Hmm, I havn't been there in awhile. The Erie Canal runs through Rome so yeah we have a "village" park sort of thing and people that work there dress up like it's the 1800's. There's all houses, a one room school house and old stores. This would be a ferry :grr: They dress up at the fort, too. Chyia. Only, see, the people in the picture would NOT be the people who work there as they gots fashionable, bold colors on. :)

Bottom photo is the sunset at one of the local shopping centers, about 1.5 miles from my house. Taken just a few weeks ago.

I've wondered about that, too. I would have put it horizontal. The freeway is at below street level to reduce noise. Maybe that's why.
Incidentally, before the f-way was built, us neighborhood kids used to bicycle right where that onramp and f-way is now.

Ohh.. I looooove that building! (The one that sort of looks like a plane?). What's the name of it? It's wonderful! :)

That building is the Milwaukee Art Museum! The part that looks like a plane was just added on as an addition like in the past 3 or 5 years. The guy that donated the majority of the money to build it (like 10 million?) was the founder of the company my dad works for, but he died in 2002 before they finished it.
