if you cant get no sleep? It's 04:29am here and I'm not tired at all. I don't like not being tired in the middle of the night. But whatever I try, nothing really works. I guess I'm just a night person... can't help it

Hollow 10-24-2003, 10:43 PM since its a weekend night, just stay up and watch tv. last summer i stayed up til 5 or 6am every night. one night i stayed up til like 9am playing video games. Rickenbacker 10-24-2003, 10:48 PM If you truly aren't sleepy, don't try forcing it. It never works. Just get up & do something like watch tv. As long as it takes. (hope you've got nowhere to be in the morning!) Otherwise, I usually get in bed, shut out the lights, shut my eyes & count backwards in my head from 1000. Give *that* a whirl! :) Cashodeen 10-24-2003, 10:49 PM Originally posted by sArAh123¼ since its a weekend night, just stay up and watch tv. last summer i stayed up til 5 or 6am every night. one night i stayed up til like 9am playing video games. Right on. I stayed up until 10 AM today. Then I work up at 2 PM. It was a trip. Usually I'm not that bassakwards though and when I can, 5 or 6 is pretty usual. I don't have any remedy for myself to fall asleep except maybe taking antihistamines, and then of course I watch tvs. dandelion wine 10-24-2003, 10:52 PM Pick up a book, pop in a movie.. maybe do some channel surfing. It helps! Hollow 10-24-2003, 10:53 PM also watch insomniac music theater if you have vh1. and buy some sleeping pills tomorrow. TheBert 10-24-2003, 10:57 PM fortunately I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow (and for another week) because I'm in my holidays right now. I think I'll just lay in bed and watch some TV now... thanks for your suggestions ;) Brent88 10-24-2003, 10:57 PM I just stay up till I get ready to go to bed(usually by 1am) I am homeschooled, so I don't have to get up early... BTW: Watching some dramatic movie or boring show will put you to sleep quickly... MonarC 10-24-2003, 11:02 PM when i can't sleep I try tricking my brain to calm down and... i close my eyes and visualize my brain shutting down like a computer. and try to clear my mind of all thoughts. if that doesn't work try Tylenol PM Liza 10-25-2003, 12:00 AM Originally posted by TheBert if you cant get no sleep? I guess I'm just a night person... can't help it Hey, just noticed your location! Guten Abend! I'm so reminded of last year when I was living in Germany - I was always up at 4am typing on these boards (mostly cuz of the time difference, it's when everyone was on). But when I have to go to sleep I'll admit it, I'm a pill-popper. Actually it's just melatonin - completely natural you can find it next to the vitamins in any store, and it works. Schlaff gut! InspectorExstead 10-25-2003, 12:46 AM ahhhh sleep...that would be really nice right now. well, when i used to go to go to bed, and couldn't fall asleep, i'd just lay in bed with my eyes close and kind of daydream and think about the next day. i'd fall asleep pretty quick. you could do that, or read a book. avoid caffeine before you you go to bed. if nothing else works, go see a doctor. i'm sure he'll prescribe you something for nights when you can't sleep. do you get tired during the day at all? dawsongirl 10-25-2003, 01:42 AM I watch TV or listen to the radio. Or take sleeping pills. If you don't get that where you are, watch some other news show. It'll put you right to sleep. ;) TheBert 10-25-2003, 07:32 AM Originally posted by Liza Hey, just noticed your location! Guten Abend! I'm so reminded of last year when I was living in Germany that's cool. where in germany have you been living? I was once in the States (in 2000) and I stayed at a friends house in NJ. It was fun :) btw I had an ok night, I just woke up so I got about 7 hours of sleep. Sometimes it's really hard for me to fall alseep, but once I am sleeping nothing can wake me up so fast. Mijada 10-25-2003, 01:22 PM If is not a work night I will usually read or watch TV or just lay there. If I have to be up early and I really need to get to sleep I will take some NyQuil. That usually works. Liza 10-27-2003, 09:43 PM Originally posted by TheBert that's cool. where in germany have you been living? But it is the first new pic of Nancy we've seen in awhile, so it was a good idea to put it in your avator. When I can't sleep, I cant watch VH1s Insomniac Theatre. I know all the songs, then I stay awake to see the videos. It doesn't work for me. I read to fall asleep. But aromatherapy helps. It's this herbal-vanilla-bay leaves spray or oil. It almost always works for me. |
