After pondering over Ralph Kramden, Archie Bunker, George Jefferson, I also think that Jack Tripper is the most memorable and greatest sitcom character.

Diane Chambers: There's never been a character like her before, and there hasn't since.

Norm Peterson: Ditto. lol

I'll go with Jack Tripper as well. He was one of a kind.

As a runner-up, Bill McNeal of "NewsRadio". He wasn't the nicest character on television, but he sure was funny.

Oh, my God...I TOTALLY agree. Diane was such an original character. She could NEVER be replaced! :notworthy :biglove:

Jack Tripper is pretty close, though. He was the ONLY comedian who did physical comedy that could EVER get a chuckle out of me.

:( Mr. Ritter was a true talent, and he will be missed by all who love to laugh. :(

That's great. Did you stay at heartbreak hotel and eat at Elvis's diner? What was it like, I mean the mansion and well, the whole tour. Did you get shivers at all.

Oh my God, I'm getting shivers just from reading that much. What do you mean they're closing down his restaurant, why? Isn't that part of the package? What was his grave like? So you actually walked through the "Golden Gates"? Tell me more!!!

The best character of all time is Roseanne. I really don't know any one in person who acts like Lucy, or Diane, or any other sitcom gals, but I think Roseanne comes closest to a real life character. I think her sense of humor is great, and I do know some real people that act like her.

THE TRUTH HAS BEEN SPOKEN. I could not have said it better myself. There is no better answer. When I think of TV, I think Lucy Ricardo. Of course Theres no one character you can actually define television with, that is what makes sitcoms so unique. Every classic is different in its own way. But if I had to pick one, no doubt to me is Lucy Ricardo.

My vote goes to Niles Crane! I've never been so "addicted" to a TV character in my life! I "blame" him for making "Frasier" my all-time favorite TV series!
