BrandonS 09-25-2003, 08:34 PM Everyone was here at some point tonight, but only briefly. Brian 09-25-2003, 08:37 PM I just talked to Todd. He is concerned about the fact that people keep posting in threads that have exceeded the 5,000 post limit. So when this thread reaches 5,000, don't post in it. I want to make a new thread about it but I'm afraid people will get on my back. BrandonS 09-25-2003, 08:38 PM Originally posted by Brian I just talked to Todd. Bye :bye: Georgia's on my Mind 09-25-2003, 08:56 PM o yeah, my film teacher was talking about sex today..and how she wants to have us watch "american history x" but theres a scene....thats very graphic, and essential to the plot of the film...so we might not watch it..she said it depends if we can handel the nudity/ sex scenes in the movies before then...odd convo with miss c. Georgia's on my Mind 09-25-2003, 09:00 PM lol, oh god... The rape scene is shocking in its R-rated explicitness. Only slightly less shocking is the absolutely great and realistic sex scene at the very beginning of this film. These two scenes keep AHX from being appropriate to show to the under-17 set, although I believe everyone should see this movie. A little judicious editing of those two scenes would allow the film to be shown in high schools. The language is nothing one doesn't hear everyday among teens. Here's his review verbatim. While a young man slides deeper into a life of drugs, his mother, living on her own in a Brooklyn apartment, drifts into a dream world after getting hooked on diet pills. Burstyn is great, and Aronofsky uses attention-getting visuals to tell his story, but his characters' descent into hell is difficult to watch (to say the least). You'd expect no less from a collaboration between Aronosfsky and Hubert Selby, Jr.; it's based on the latter's novel. Perhaps the only film to ever credit a Refrigerator Puppeteer!
