That's a lot of celebrities who died! What's with all the 50 somethings that died? I know many people in their 50s and I hope they live a long time! 2003 was a crappy year. Even though I graduated and I'm glad to be out of school, it is still a bad year. The weather was horrible, apparently many people died, life sucks for me..blah,blah. I know the person who lives in Johnny Paycheck's old house and he says it's haunted. My boyfriend goes there all of the time and the house scares him.

2003 wasn't such a bad year for me...granted, I hated senior year and I finally graduated ( ), but I did get to meet Vicki Lawrence in person. THAT alone made my YEAR. :D

I would say 2001 was the worst year, tho, because of Sept 11th. :crying:

I miss John Ritter so much. :(

Buddy Ebsen died?!?!!? Im sure it was posted and I replied, but meangya.. why dont I remember?! :( Well, Im glad he lived to 95.:)

John Ritter is my 'celebrity death' so far. Everyone's got a celebrity death that when they died they were really affected by it. My moms is Lucille Ball. Watching the John Ritter tribute on TVLand just kills me. But, everything does happen for a reason and 2004 will be a year of good!

That was very good too. The one thing I disliked about it though was Kate's voice. It wasn't deep and raspy like it is in her other films. It was like she was trained to speak differently for that movie or something.

I didn't know Buddy Hackett died! :( Oh perfect

I remember telling my mom after Gregory Hines died that that was it - no one else is allowed to die this year, because I CAN'T TAKE IT!!!!

German filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl went too this year - she was 101.

A lot of actresses at the time were taught to speak deeply - Kate Hepburn, Gene Tierney, and Lauren Bacall. Don't ask me why, couldn't tell ya ;) I love the Philadelphia Story! High Society was great too - I remember thinking how strange it was that the star of the remake (Grace Kelly) was gone before the star of the original. Now, sadly, they're both gone :( BTW, Kate Hepburn's best movie was Bringing Up Baby :)

Oh gosh I love High Society too!!! When I first saw it i wasnt really paying attention..a nd then i got all confused, i was like wait... this is the philadelphia story where is Kate? LOL. I had a bonehead moment!!! ;). Grace was amazing too! And I agree about Bub.. I love it when Kate says "There is a leopard on your roof, and I have to get it, and in order to get it I have to sing!". And I also love the scene where her dress rips . I die laughing!!

Well I don't know about Tierney or Bacall but Kate Hepburns voice was naturally deep but for some reason in Bringing up Baby her voice was higher and more feminine. I remember reading somewhere that she had a voice coach teach her to speak like that. I guess the people in the movie industry didn't care for her naturally deep voice. In those days women were supposed to look and speak very feminine. It was right after Bringing up Baby came out that she was labeled as "Box Office Poison". today that movie is considered a classic.

So many bad things have happened this year. I think that 2004 will be a better year. I started this year thinking that this would be a bad year. I wasn't wrong. And I thought 1997 was bad! Actually it was. A family member of mine died, Mother Theresa died, and Princess Diana died.
