View Full Version : History of TGIF
misterblowhole 09-14-2003, 03:20 PM does anyone know of anywhere on the net that lists the TGIF year-by-year lineups from the past.
I used to live for that Friday night block on ABC when I was a kid growing up. I'm glad to see it's being resurected this fall, but I doubt it can live it up to the greatness and impact on the original TGIF days.
musicradio77 09-15-2003, 09:15 PM "Full House" used to be on the TGIF lineup from 1987 until 1992 where the show moved into Tuesdays from 1992 until the show's end in 1995. I believe "Two of a Kind" was also used to be on the same TGIF lineup from 1998 until 1999 where the show ended just one season.

This was my favorite! I remember waiting all week for it to come on. I also remember that Just the Ten of Us didn't come on every week for some reason, and it used to be so disappointing!

Thanks TVAdam. "Full House" is still a favorite when it was from TGIF from 1987 to 1991 before moving into Tuesdays replacing "Who's the Boss?" on its timeslot.
Adamantium 09-16-2003, 09:41 PM I don't know if "20/20" was actually considered a TGIF show, but that's how I always topped off the night.
I would have added the rest of the schedules, but I can't find my book, with that info in it right now.
misterblowhole 09-16-2003, 10:48 PM I grew up with TGIF around 1990-1993, so my favorites include Full House, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Step By Step, and Dinosaurs, among many others.
IMO, that whole era is very strong. At the least, every fall lineup had at least 3 really good shows.

Nuh uh, full house was! LOL.
Brent88 12-12-2003, 07:15 PM Full House, the early years were very boring. The last three seasons are really the only episodes I find watchable.

Well it's only your list of favorite shows... and it's the only TGIF show listed on there.
samanddiane4eva 12-13-2003, 03:05 PM I only remember 1992 through 1998 and those were the best Fridays of my life!
spunkygirl 12-15-2003, 02:36 AM Yeah TGIF 1993!!!!! It rocked because of 3 words Boy Meets World! LOL
I remember watching BMW, Sabrina, Mr. Cooper and Step by Step, I was a TGIF junkie, till it started becoming stale.
