TVLand has bent over backwards, imo, to do this. This is such a GREAT way to honor a GREAT man. Many of these performances of his haven't been aired in years, and TVLand is doing a GREAT job at this. Nice to see "Three's a Crowd," "Hooperman," "Rhoda," "Starsky & Hutch" and "Mannix" on there! I'm gonna be taping all day long! One thing puzzles me though.....why are they showing "Mannix" so late, after some shows are repeated...
Mr. Television 09-13-2003, 11:12 AM I'm so glad they are going to show Three's A Crowd and Hooperman.
Unwanted Angel 09-13-2003, 11:36 AM John Deserves it IMO.
MichaelLutton 09-13-2003, 11:44 AM Will Thress a crowd be stayign on for good or is just a one time thing.
PPatters 09-13-2003, 12:05 PM It is wonderful that TVLand will be honoring John; he is definitely, without a doubt, one of the finest physical comedians in history and one of the most popular. He certainly deserves all of it.
Pavan 09-13-2003, 01:08 PM JT, it's actually until 3:30AM. Here are the 12AM-3:30AM shows:
12:00 AM Starsky and Hutch 015 - Hostage, The: Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) and Hutch(David Soul) try to save the lives of a young armored car driver and his captive wife, both of whom will be killedafter a fortune in cash has been delivered
1:00 AM Three's Company - The Loan Shark
1:30 AM Three's A Crowd 001 - Pilot: Description is not available
2:00 AM The Waltons 007 - Sinner, The: A young minister visiting the Waltons gives unrelenting sermons against the wicked sinner until he accidently gets drunk while drinking what he thinks is the Baldwin sister's home remedy.
3:00 AM Bob Newhart 052 - Sorry, Wrong Mother: Howard Borden is about to introduce his son to Ellen and tries to remold her into an image the boy will like.
benjamoon 09-13-2003, 02:59 PM Wow. That's the biggest tribute I've ever seen TV Land give. It's a nice tribute though, and they must have been given special rights for "Mary Tyler Moore" and "Rhoda" among others
MaydayMalonesGirl 09-13-2003, 03:11 PM 3pm: "Wings"
Cool. There's something I never see Wings on during the day.
I'm glad there giving John Ritter a tribute. He totally deserves it.
LucyFan 09-13-2003, 03:11 PM That's one of the best tributes that I have seen TV Land give. The one thing that TV Land has missed in their John Ritter tribute was the guest appearance he made on Life With Lucy. The episode is called "Lucy Makes A HIT With John Ritter". That particular episode is considered one of the BEST episode of that entire series. Anyways . . . that show should have been into the tribute because Lucille Ball really adored John Ritter a lot. From what I heard, she was one of John's role models too.
Nanny Fine 09-13-2003, 03:16 PM What an amazing day of John Ritter TV. I'm really looking forward to it and what a great tribute to him it will be.
This starts tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., correct?
RichFonz 09-13-2003, 03:22 PM Yes, it does start at 9AM (6AM for me, since I live in California) I figured TV Land would do a tribute to Ritter, but I didn't expect a day long tribute. Apparently, he is one of the best comedians ever, even though I've never seen Three's Company. I have, though, seen "8 Simple Rules" many times last year, and of the few shows today that I could get into. My hearts and prayers go to his wife, Amy, his children, and the cast he left behind. We'll miss you, Ritter.
Sitcomwriter 09-13-2003, 04:42 PM Hoop There it is!
Sitcomwriter 09-13-2003, 04:42 PM I'll be watching Rhoda,Wings,Three's A Crowd,Hooperman and The Cosby Show.I wish they would air Fish Police,Ally McBeal,Hearts Afire and Life With Lucy but I'm not complaining.

Ill be watching and taping from the moment it starts until the very end. Both TVLand and Nick.
I've had TVland on this afternoon and they are playing small commercial like tributes to John. They are very very nice.
shocolah 09-13-2003, 05:21 PM TV Land deserves a big pat on the back. I'm glad they are paying tribute to John Ritter. Can't wait to see Hooperman! TG for TVL !
Pavan 09-13-2003, 05:26 PM Yes, it's a great tribute. Very well done by TV Land at the last minute. Surprised to see Hooperman and Three's a Crowd in there!
It's perfect, but if they were to remove the re-airings or maybe one of the Three's Company blocks (since it's on Nick@Nite anyway), I'd like to have seen these sitcoms he guested on (shows that are not on other networks): Anything But Love, Life with Lucy, and The Associates.
Mr. Television 09-13-2003, 05:33 PM They could have thrown a Hearts Afire episode as well. Would have loved to see Life with Lucy. That was one of the best episodes in the series. After watching A&E's biography I would have loved to see Dan August. That was the first show John guest starred on. It starred Burt Reynolds and had Norman Fell as a regular. All in all though TV Land is doing a good job.

USA Network still has the rights to that. I guess TV Land couldn't get them to give them an episode for one day.
Chad22 09-13-2003, 06:05 PM That is One heck of a Tribute, Ill be watching for sure!
Stormtracker TF 09-13-2003, 06:05 PM Thats going to be a Great Tribute. John Deserves it, and Im looking forward to watching it.
Sean Snow 09-13-2003, 07:03 PM This seems like a great tribute. John Ritter definitely deserves it and I'm glad they're having almost an entire day dedicated to him. I'm looking forward to seeing him in Three's a Crowd, Hooperman, and Rhoda.

The Three's a Crowd episode (according to AOL's TV Guide) appears to be the second episode of the show, which was titled "The Happy Couple."
The Hawaii Five-0 episode is episode 211 - "Dealer's Choice -- Blackmail," which aired in 1977.
snowpeck 09-13-2003, 07:16 PM The 7616 episode number is the production code.

Impressions 09-13-2003, 07:32 PM I agree with everyone, TV Land is throwing one the best tribute they've ever gave and in such a short amount of time, John Ritter definately deserves this all-day marathon dedicted to him. I'm surprised they've gathered many rarely seen shows such as Three's A Crowd, Hooperman and Rhoda as a part of their marathon, this tribute certainly has a large variety of shows that he has starred and guest starred in, and many of them I'm anxious to see.

Nice to see that schedule in honor of the passing of John Ritter. Does "Full House" is airing an episode called "You Pet It, You Bought It" in which Uncle Jesse was singing the "Three's Company" theme song?
Crimson and Clover 09-13-2003, 11:11 PM Im so glad they are doing this.
IGNTBone 09-14-2003, 12:52 AM It'll be nice to see Hooperman again.
HDfanLiz 09-14-2003, 09:08 AM I'm so glad they're doing this, it's very classy of TVLand. What a great way to honor John Ritter!

What about Fish Police or Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central)?

Those would be good. I loved that Wednesday 9:30/8:30 Central episode. Maybe Cartoon Network has access to Fish Police, since it's Hanna-Barbera. As for Wednesday 9:30/8:30 Central, that's Buena Vista Television/Touchstone, so I guess ABC still has it.
Sitcomwriter 09-14-2003, 01:14 PM FX obviously still has the rights to Ally McBeal and Buffy being that they still show them.Who has the rights to Anything But Love?

I last saw that on Comedy Central a few years back, around 1998 or 1999. I'm guessing no one has it now, so TV Land could have gotten an episode or two.
IGNTBone 09-14-2003, 09:35 PM Was it just me, or were the TV Land Awards edited down from the original broadcast? I could've sworn they skipped the banter between John Ritter and ALF, as well as the Gary Coleman parody, at least

It was. The full 2 hrs. 30 min. was only shown the first 2 or 3 times it aired, after that was a chopped 2 hour version.
Anyone see Game Show Network's 4-hour marathon today? It featured his appearances on Family Feud, Hollywood Squares & Dating Game.
