Fanfic: My place or yours
A/N: Okay so I am not good at short stories, so that’s why I am gonna try it out.

CD walked up to Nate’s deck, handing him a cup of coffee. “So, What are you doing after work? CD asked him

Nate says, “That depends.”

“On?” CD asked.

“You, “ Nate said with a knowing smile.

CD smiled back at him, and said, “Your place or mine.”

There was no one around so when he put his arms around her waste no one saw it, and he said, “Your place.” Then they started kissing.

Any CD/Nate story is great to me!!! Good job, but it should have been longer...Do I hear sequel? :D

I am having a rating on this one for strong violence. This story has to do with the rest of the cast two. Please bear with me, and keep reading this..

Titled: After Work


CD had the lasagna in the oven cooking the rest of the way when the doorbell rang. She opened it up to see twelve red roses. “That’s nice of you thanks Nate.” She took the roses, and found a vase for them. She put them on her coffee table. When dinner was ready they sat pretty quietly eating, because they really weren’t interested in dinner, but each other. After dinner Nate helped CD clean up.

He asked, “So is it time for desert?

“That depends, on what kinda desert that your talking about.” CD said

“The only desert that I want baby is you.” He said with his cute little simile.

She gave him a playful look, and said, “Well I don’t know if I have that.”

He smiled, and put his hands around her waist, and said, “Oh, I think you.” They started kissing. CD when for Nate’s shirt, and pulled it over his head. He in turn did the same thing to her. With all the excitement of them making love, he had almost for got, Almost. “I have a surprise for you.” He said.

“What’s that?” CD asked somewhat breathless. Here he was talking about gifts, and the only thing she wanted to do was jump him. She thought, “would he just hurry up, I can’t take this much longer.

He came back and he was holding in his hands a bottle of whipped cream. “Got it.” He said with a smile.

She said, “I don’t know witch one I will like more,” She stopped for a second and looked down, and then back up at him. “You or the Whipped Creamed.”

He loved this part of there relationship. “Both I hope.”

After words they were laying in bed, and Nate was holding CD. God he loved her. It was then that his cell phone rang. “****,” He thought. He picked it up, and said, “Hello… But.. You know I can’t. What? Okay fine I will be there.” He said not happy at having to leave. “I am sorry CD, but I have to go.

CD rolled her eyes, and Said, Not again?! You always have to go after we have sex. Why?”

“I told you.” He lied, and both of them knew it. “It’s my mom.”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever” CD said, “But one day when you feel like telling me what’s really going on. I will be here.” She really didn’t mean to be rude, but this happened every time after they had sex, and it was starting to make her feel like she was being used. She got up, and handed Nate the rest of his close so he could get dressed.

Nate arrived home. He opened his door to his apparent, and slammed it shut. “You can’t keep doing this!” He Yelled

The women smiled, and said, “I can do whatever the hell I want, and you can’t do a damn thing about it.” Nate was ticked, and without even thinking about it he had his hands around her throat, and chocking her. She gasped out, “You hurting me.”

He was ticked he didn’t care, “I don’t care. I don’t care anymore what happens to me. I love her to much to keep doing this to her.”

Still gasping for air, “You love her that much that you are willing to kill me for her, and spend the rest of you life in prison. Being someone’s bitch?!”

He wanted to just slug her so bad, but he re-famed form it, and even let go of her throat. “And maybe you should keep in mind is the only reason your not dead right now is because of her.”

“Yeah, well,” She said, “It wasn’t me who got you into the mess that you are in. It was you, and now you are doing what I tell you too do. So take your close off.”

Nate tired to argue, but it was no use. She DID have all the power. “Look this is the last time that I will do this.

“You do ‘this’ anytime I want you to do this. And , “ She said bitterly, “You do this any time you have sex with another women. You know the role’s Nate., and Hat you not gone and did what you did we wouldn’t be here right now would we?”

Okay this is another one of those places Were I am stuck so I am finished for right now, I hope you liked, and tell me what you think.
A/N Okay So I didn't get the rest of the characters in like I said, maybe next time if ya guys liked this one.

“Look,” Nate said, “What I did, I didn’t mean to, alright? Now your making me pay with it for the rest of my life.”

She had a lot of anger towards him, and wanted him to pay for everything. Maybe she thought, “You could call it revenge. Making him do whatever she wanted him to do. Whatever, the case she enjoyed it. Wither he did or not.” She thought for another moment, and then said, “Your right, I am making you pay for the rest of your life. A kids died because of it.”

He sat down and put his hand though his hair. He thought, “God I feel bad for that, and what’s worse is that she knows this, and is using it against me.” He said, “Fine we will do it your way.” He started taking off his cloths. She eyed him with hunger. She wanted him, and she wanted him now. She couldn’t stand knowing that another women had had him. She started take off her cloths too. They started kissing He wanted to tell her NO so bad, but he knew that if he did then she would go to his captain, and he would lose his job. He hated her for this. She was black mailing him for this, and there was nothing he could do about it.

CD had been tossing, and turning. She couldn’t sleep, and it was about 2 am, she went, and got a mug of hot tea, she hoped that made her tired enough to sleep. She was up set that every time she made love to Nate he left. I mean it wasn’t like it was once it was all the time. He was always making these lame excuses. That neither one of them believed. She took the last sip of her tea and went to bed. She thought, “Maybe some day soon I will get to the bottom of this.”

A/N: I know this is going to get really confusing REALLY confusing, but please stick with me.

Women # 1 sat in her car as she saw women # 2 pull up. It was clear that women #2 had at man in the car with her that she was going to bring into her house, but once she saw women #1 She told the man that he would have to leave. That something must have come up. The man was disappointed, but left. Women #2 walked up to women # 1 car, and asked, “What’s going on is everything okay?” As women # 2 looked into the car she saw that women #1 had a black eye, and a split lip. Women # 2 said “OMG, Come in side let me get that cleaned up for you, and you can tell me what happened.”

Women #1 Looked at her she was fighting back tears. She said, “Okay, I am sorry I ruined your night.” She got out of her car, and followed Women #2 into her house, and to her bathroom.

Women #2 says, “This is gonna sting a little.” They sat in silence for a few minutes, and then women #2 asked, “So you gonna tell me what happened? Did he do this to you? If he did then I am gonna kill him!” She shouted.

Women #1 Says, “It doesn’t matter if he did do this to me. It’s over as of tonight I told him that he wasn’t going to black mailing me anymore. He tired to force himself on me, and for once I fought back and won.”

Women # 2 was glad “He deserved it then because, of everything that bastard has put you though. Hell he even tried to put me though it, but you stopped him by telling him that you would sleep with him more. Witch he liked even more because then he could control you, and make your life a living hell. He made it so that you couldn’t even have a personal life.” She was done patching up her face.

Women # 1 “Thanks.” She said. “Look can we not talk about this?”

Women #2 said “Sure. So, now what?” She asked

Women #1 asked, “Do you mind if, I just spend the night here. I will even take you to work tomorrow. No charge.”

Women #2 Said, “Yeah sure that’s fine, but uh, you might want to charge me, cause you may not have a job anymore after tonight.”

Women #1 said, “Thank again. It means a lot to me. I owe you one. And I don’t think I will lose my job over this cause then he will look just as bad as I do. If, not worse.”

Women#2 asked, “So you want to stay, up, and talk about it?”

Women #1 wasn’t sure. She didn’t like talking about this. She thought it made her look weak, and more then anything she was ashamed that she would let this happen. Let him black mail her of over fifteen years. “I think… that is if it’s okay that for right now I just want to go to bed, maybe talk about it tomorrow after work. If, that’s okay?”

Women # 2 said. “Yeah sure that’s fine. Anything you want. This happened to you not me.” They both went to bed, and got up the next morning. Women #1 had made some coffee, and they started driving to work together. They were listening to oldies, when women #2 asked, “Do we have to listen to this crap?”

Women # 1 said, “What you would rather listen to that head banging stuff?”

Women # 2 said,” To be truthful yes, I would.”

“Women #1 said, You know, that just makes you brain dead right?” She was joking around, and women #2 just laughed at her. They heard on the radio.

The radio voice, “This just in, DC. Charles Haysbert was found dead early this morning. They believe that it was a murder. But not news yet on whom they think it is.

At this moment women #2 Looked at women #1, and questioned, “OMG Cap, Please tell me you didn’t kill DC Haysbert?!

Kate looked at women #2, and said, “No Jinny, I couldn’t do that. I DIDN’T DO that.”


Okay tell me what you think good or bad I wanna hear it?!?!

CD came walking into The division. Their were only two other people in there becides her. One was nate, and the other was Magda.CD walked up to nate, She didn't want to talk about the night before. She just wanted to get her mind off of it. She asked, "Have you sceen Cap? It's not like her to be this late."

Nate looked at CD. GOod he wished he didn't have to lie to her. He loved her like no one else could. She was everything to him. He took a single strande of her hair that was out of place and tucked it behind her ear. "NO I haven't scene the Captain." He looked at her...He wasn't quite sure what he was seeing..He thought maybe sadness, but for once he couldn't be sure. HE said, "Are you okay? It's not like you to be this late either CD."

CD put her hand lightley on Nate's cheeck. "Nate." She sawid softley now's not the time to talk about us. Did you hear what happend this morning?"

Nate looked at her confused and said, "No what happend?"

Cd looked arould to make sure that no one else was looking. She said in a low voice, "D.C. Charles Haysbert died earleyer this morening. You yourself have scene all the fighting they have been doing aroud here. And in the past few weeks it has gotten even worse. YOu know this isn't going to look good for our captain."

Nate looked at her, and said, "Yeah, I believe one of those times, she even said something she was going to kill the bastartd."

CD looked down, and then back up at Nate, and said, "You know this is going to get worst before, it gets better. I was thinking you know maybe we could get some of the people around here to keep their mouth shut. you know? Like who ever they send over to question us about the captain, DC Haysbert we just have them tell them that we don't know anything. "

Nate looked at her, and pulled her into a hug. "Hey it sounds good to me. "

Kate pulled her car over to the side of the road. They both sat in slince for a moment, Jinny was the frist one to say something. "Are you sure you didn't kill him. I mean like maybe it was an accident or something?"

"Jinny, I have been a cop for god knows how long. I think I would know if I had tired to kill the man. The only thing that I did was push him away..He fell, but he got right back up. I ran out of the house before he could brag me." Kate said, as a new batch of tears started rolling down her eyes. Then it was almsot as though it were a realizesion. "OMG, My finger prings, my dNA it's going to be all over his house. Oh, God, I was so stupid." Kate said

Jinny said, "Look cap, everything will be okay? We will find someone that you trust, and we will talk to them. I mean hell, Maybe even Teddy. Who knows. But if you didn't kill him then that is what the evdence will say, and you willl have nothing to worry about. "

"YOu really think so?" Kate asked.

"I know so." Jinny tired to say resureingly. Jinny was pretty sure that her Captain hadn't killed Cherles, but she wasn't postive, but what ever did happen last night Jinny, Made a voul to find out.

They got to the Division, and As soon as she got there she ran into her office no one could ask her any questions..about her face. Everyone Kinda looked at each other questiongly, and wondering what had happend. Why did she have a black eye, and why was it on the same night that Cherles had died. There was a lot of chatter going around when Jinny said, "Don't you guys have work to do." That sounded odd comeing form Jinny since normaly it was the cap who was saying it, but they knew that Jinny was serious. "How would all of you feel if we were doing that to you when you walked in? HUH? I don't we try, and help the cap thought this instead of talking about her as though she wasn't even here."

CD jumped in, "Yeah, I agree with Jinny. This women has put her job on the line probably for everyone in this room..and this is how you repay her. She may ride you ass till it hurts, but she's fair. And that is something none of you are beeing right now.

THey had all agreed to try, and protect the captain. Keep thier mouth shout. Little did they know they were probably protecting Jinny, and Nate too. What they also didn't know what that they were protecting the murder too.

For once Raina wasn't over joyed to be gossiuping about her Captain. Maybe it was even that now she had to much respect for her captain. Well, that and she could never think that her Captain could commit murder know matter what. When Nate saw CD go into the locker room he followed. "Hey CD." He said

She about jumped out of her skin. "Omg Nate you scared the crap out of me."

"Sorry, " He siad giving her a smile.

She said in a loving voice, "Who could refuse that Smile." She gave him a hug. After what had happend that moring she needed to feel his arms around her.

Nate thought to himeself more people then she thought could refuse that smile. CD and him started kissing. between the kisses he was trying to get out..."CD...there's....some...something...I need...to...talk....to you...about.."

There was a knock on the door, and CD, jumped again. She went to her locker, and pretended she was getting into it. CD said, "Nate I told about the...the...umm...suspect...Right?"

Nate trying to cover with CD said, "Uh..Yeah..I think so." Nate turned to look to see who it was. Someone he didn't know. "Who are you?" He asked.

She stated simpley, "Carrie, and You are?"

CD poped her head to the side, the voice, and the name sounds like someone she knew. She turned around faceing the women, and said, "Carrie? Is that really you?"

She smiled, and walked over to hug CD. "Yes, it is, but I am sorry." They pulled out of the hug and she finished what she was gonna say, "...I here officialy...not for a vist." Carrie had been In the SFPD With CD when CD was a rokie. Carrie had shown her all the ropes, and everything else. She had been a great friend, but then she got a very good job with the FBI.

Nate went to say something, but CD said first, This is Nate my parnter." CD thought better and said, "Police partner." Carrie smiled CD said, "Nate this is Carrie, She with the FBI. I am guessing that your here about DC Charles Haysbert."

"Good guess." Carrie said easily. A little to easy for CD. CD remembered that she could play it cool under the best, or worst circomstances. Carrie knew just as sure as she knew herself that CD wasn't going to give anything up on her captain, but she thought it was worth a try. "So either of you to know of any fights between Your captain, and the DC?

THey both looked at each other, and back at Carrie, both cd, and Nate said, "Nope, can't think of anything."

Kate had sat thinking back to the frist day that Charles had blackmaliled her. Jinny had been deep undercover as a drug dealer. And one of the places that she was at had been busted. THe people who had brought her in didn't even give her a chance to tell them she was a cop. They had planted some Coke on her. Enough that She would lose her job, and maybe even go to jail. When Kate had finely found Jinny there was no mistake in her mind that it was a setup. THe question was who? Kate was soon to find out. Kate would do anything to help Jinny out. Kate had been up for a promosion. That was for her to be DC. When she saw Charles Haysbert come walking into the room, she thought, " I should have known it was him." She said flatley as she normaly did, "Charles."

He said in the same tone as Kate had, "Kate."
SHe asked, "What do you want?"
He smeiled at her. He hateded her with a pashion. "Now what makes you so sure I want something?"
Kate walked up to be face to face with the taller man, and said, "Not that you are above gloating, but in this case you would wait until we were out of work, So what do you want?"
"You know Kate once reason that I do like you, is becasue your to smart. Maybe to smart of your own good. Now we both know that evedince has to dissapear, and I can do that for you, but you would have to do something for me."
Kate went to walk away, and said, "YOur crazy!"
Before she got fare Charles grabed her by the arm, and said, "I don't think you want to walk out that door. You do and I will make sure that not only will you not get DC, but also that young officer, will lose her job, and go to jail."
Kate stoped trying to free herself. She galred at the man standing before her. "Let go of me." He did, and then she said, "What do you want me to do."
"Two things." He said, One withdrawl your name for the running of DC. And I will make sure the young officer doesn't go to jail."
She had known the first one was coming. She had no idea what the secound one was. She said, "And two?"
He had this huge smile on his face, he said, "Two, the officer gets to keep her job, and if i decdied to be really nice it maybe even go off her record. Depending on how good you are."
Kate was afraid, to aske, but she did, "Good at what?"
He pased for a secound, and said simpley, "Sex."
She Yelled, "GO to HELL!" She started walking for the door, but this time Charles though her against And pinned her arms. She strugled but it was no use, he was much bigger, and stronger.
AS he held her there he Yelled back, "YOu have no idea who I am, and what I can do to you. YOU don't do as I say, and you can bet that not only well that young officer go to jail, but she will also lose her job, and you will go with her. I am tired of playing our games Kate. Your doing what I tell you now, and if you don't then I will take your life. YOU got that?"
Kate was terified, she didn't know what to do. She thought to herself she would figure it out later, but she had to do what Charles said, "Yeah. Kate said, "NOw would you let me go?!"
"so we have a deal? "Charles asked.
Thought clenched teeth Kate said, "Yes, we have a deal."

Fifteen years later, Kate sat their with cold eyes, stareing into space. "He deserved it."

Nate sat there while CD, and Carrie cought up with each other.
Then she Started questioning them about their captain again. CD, and Nate played dumn like they didn't know anything. Now mind you, Carrie was smart enought to know this, but she let it be... for now. AS she was walking out the door, she looke at Nate, and said, "Mr. Basso, was it?"

"Yes, but please call me Nate." He said

She smiled, and said, "Okay Nate, I will have to talk to you later." She nodded her heard towards CD as she was saying bye, and said, "It was nice seeing you again CD." she then walked out the door.

CD mumbled, "Yeah, it would be good seeing you too, if you weren't here as an FBI agent trying to make it look like our captain killed Charles. CD said, and then looked over at nate, and asked, "And why would she want to see you later? Is she that dumn that she thinks you will talk, or is she just that sure of herself?"


Nate looked at her trying to hide how scared he was, and said, "Umm...I have not idea."

CD said, I am sure it's nothing." She started walking for the door, and asked, "Are you coming?"

He looked at her, and asked, "Can I have a few minutes?"

CD looked confused for a moment then asked, "Is evething alright Nate?"

Nate lyed, and said, "Yeah, Yeah everything is fine. I just need a few minutes to think."

"Okay, if you need to talk about anything Nate you know were I am." She placed a small kiss on his for head, and walked ofr the door.

Nate said, "thanks," as she left the room. He sat there, and thought to himself, "How could I have gotten into this mess?" He thought back to his drug days, and when he was doing it. He was still married to his wife, well they were in the middle of their divorce. Molly his ex-wife didn't know what to do with him anymore. She thought the divorse was the best thing for them, and maybe then he could get cleaned up, and they could get back together. But that didn't happen. Nate didn't get cleaned up until that awful day when he found out that he had sold bad drugs to this kid, and the kid had died. Nate felt awful. He was even going to give up his badage, but when he was about to do that. He got a call form Molly, and she told him to meet her at their old house.

AS he walked into the door Molly said, "I heard about that boy. You know the one that you killed?

"Molly, that's not fare. I'm taking the responcabilty for killing that kid. I am even giving up my badage. I feel awful for doing what I did. I have stopped all the drugs, and stopped celling them. What more can I do?"

"THe hell you will," She snarled. "Your not giving up your job that easily. Not after last night, and what I was forced to do. No you will be paying for a long time Nate."

"What do you mean 'forced to do'?" he asked

Molly said, "Some guy came to the door asked if I was your ex-wife, and hear I thought he was gonna tell me that you were dead, or something, but no that didn't happen. He told me that I had to do eveything he told me to do, or you would lose your job, and everything else. He made me sleep with him."

"Who is he? I kill him." Nate yelled angerly.

She said coldly, "that doesn't matter now. BUt here is what I am going to tell you. You are going to do as I tell you now. I am not going to be the only one that pays for what you have done."

He went to hug her he felt bad. He wasn't even sure as to what to say or do. He was wrong he knew what to say, "So, I will turn in my badage, and go to jail. You don't have sleep with this guy."

She yelled again, "Wake-up Nate! They don't want you in jail. Neither do I. I want you Nate! I will do anything for you!" She turned very cold again, "Now, you gonna do as I tell you. Look it's this simple. After last night nothing worse can be done to me. I don't care about myself or you anymore. You will not turn in you badage. And you will do as i tell you from now on. Understand?" She wanted to get him back for all the years that he had been on drugs, and not she had found her way. She didn't even feel bad that it was becasue of a child. The only person she was thinking about was herself, and how she could get back at nate. "Now in turn for me sleeping with that man you are going to sleep with me when ever I want you to. Got that?"

Nate looked stund to hear what his ex-wife had just said. He hadn't realized when she changed. He knew why she had. It was becasue of the drugs. He wasn't sure he blamed her, but to go this far? Nate was so down on himself that this is what he thought he deserved this, becasue of the little boy. Now he was paying for it for the rest of his life, and his ex-wife would make sure of that. And she had to this day blackmail him, and made him sleep with her. She had made the rules, and not there was nothing that he could do about it. It's back to present time, and he was still sitting on the bench when he thought, "Wait that can't be. No way she would have killed Charles. Or could she have?" He got up to leave the locker room....

Kate say at her deck. There was a knock at her door, and she said, "Come in."

Kate head a females voice right away that she had heard before. Once again it was Carrie's. "Hi Capation. Can we talk for a secound?"

Kate had always knew that she liked Carrie, but she also knew that she wasn't here for friendlyness. She was there on fishing experdition. To see wither or not she thought that Kate was guilty. Kate looked at her, and said, "You don't have to call me captain anymore. I mean after all you don't work for me. How is the job going."

Carrie looked at her, and said, "Uhh. Works fine, but that's not what I am here to talk to you about."

Kate said in mock suprised, "You aren't?"

Carrie once again looked at her, and said, "You always were to samrt for you own good."

Kate looked happy about that, and Said, "Thanks. So why don't we get down to the real reason that your here."

Carry, said, "Ya know that's why I always liked you. YOu always wanted to get down business first without all the bull ***** first. So, Did you kill Charles Haysbert?"

Kate looked at Carrie, and tilted her head at an angle, and said, "No, but my DNA is going to be all over the place."

Carrie said, "Tell me somethng I don't rlready know."

Kate smeiled, and said, "anything else I think a laywer should be here. So did you need anything else Carrie?"

"Yes," she said, "one more thing...What do you know about Nate Basso?"

Kate looked confused what the hell would they need Nate for, and then thought, "Unles...NO."

"That's what I thought. You know nothing about him. WEll you have any more info for me call me. Thanks for you help." she thought to herself, 'or lack of it'. She said, "I will talk to you later, Cap...Sorry Kate. Bye."

"Bye" Kate said. Carrie left the division, and she thought of what she could do, but first she had to talk to Nate. She walked to her door, and said, "Nate can I speak to you alone for a moment?

Nate walked into kate's office, and shut the door. He was realived that she had called him in there. He had been looking for a reason to go, and talk to her most of that day, but never got the chance. "What did you want to talk to me about?" He asked concerd

"WEll," Kate said I am just looking out for your back. Carrie knows something about you, and she won't tell me what it is. I understand if, you don't want to talk to me, but I can try, and help you. Maybe we can even work together to see if, we can't figure out what happend with DC Charles Haysbert last night."

Nate looked at her. He wanted to make sure aske for himself to make sure she wasn't the one that had killed DC Haysbert. He asked rather blunt, "Did you kill DC Haysbert?"

Kate looked him in the eye. She said, "No I didn't. I swear....on my daughter's life." Kate had known that Nate had gotten into some trouble with drugs a while back ago. She thought maybe it was the same thing that had happend to Jinny. Maybe these people tricked him into believeing that the boys death was his fault, and now they were blackMaleing him, but what kate didn't get was, since it was proven that he wasn't at fault for the kids death, then how come Nate would let them blackmaile him? She looked at him, and said, "It's my turn to ask a question."

He looked at her rather scared. "Okay." was all he said.

Kate walked over to him to reasure him that everything was going to be okay. She placed her hand on his shoulder, and said "Nate don't worry. Everything's going to be okay just talk to me."

He loooked at her, and said, "Okay, but for now you have to promice me that you won't tell CD. I don't want her involved in this."

Kate smeiled, she knew how the two fo them felt for each other. " I won't tell her...I promice." She said. Kate wanted to get right now to the point, so she asked point blanck, "Was someone blackmailing you?"

He knew she knew, but he was so embraced. Everyone around the division had figured that Charles was blackingmaileing Kate, but with what they weren't sure. How they all guessed that it was with sex, and now they were right. Nate felt so ashamed that he would let the same thing happen to him. His face turned a bright red, and he said, "Yes."

She ddin't have to ask anymore questions it was wrighten all over the place. She did, however need to know by who..that could answer a lot of their questions, and might even lead to their killer. "Who was blackmailing you Nate?"

He thought for a mement. If, only he had had the nearve to do it when he walked out of the locker room. Maybe now he wouldn't be so scared. "Cap, I am so sorry I don't think that I can tell you. It's to hard." He was fighting back the tears of all the years of hurt, and pain that his ex-wife had put him though.

Kate didn't mean to be harsh, but she didn't have long to put all the peases together. And right now Nate was her only clue. "Fine" Kate said, "you won't have long though before Carrie comes down on you, and there will be nothing at that time that I can do to help." Kate looked though his eyes, and saw the sadness, and the pain that he felt. She knew that he wasn't going to do her any good being at work so she told him< "Take the rest of the day off."

He agreed, and left.

Jinny stormed into his office, and asked, "Am I interupting something?" As she took the pin in his hand, and hurled it accrosed the room, so she knew that she had his attechion.

Teddy looked up, and said, "Not now that I don't have a pin."

Jinnny said, "Good...I got a problem."

Teddy said, "Yeah so I have heard all over the news today. How is Kate holding up?"

Jinny looked down, and back up at Teddy, "AS good at can be exspected. Look, teddy I need your help. Will you give it to me?"

"Is this about last night?" He asked, "and did Kate kill him?"

Yes, this is about last night, and No she didn't kill him."

"ARe you sure?" Teddy asked.

"Yes, I am sure Teddy...Now will you help me and kate?" She asked

Teddy, said, "I will help on one condision, You tell me what happed from the beening, and you don't leave anything out."

Jinny said, "I agree to that."

Someone sat watching the news, and they saw them bringing the body of Charles Haysbert out. THe reporter said, something about how the FBI wanted his wife, and ex-wife in for questioning, but that they weren't suspects as of yet. THe person who was watching the tv smiled, and thought, "Everything is falling into place. Now all the FBI had to do was take the in the planted evadence, and Kate would go to jail for a murder she didn't do. And everybody else would get what they deserved. The person would make sure of that.

Okay that's it for now...I might try, and change that last part casue it didn't make much since even to me, and I knew what I was trying to wright. LOL anway let me know what you think Good or bad ...I wanna know.

Once again this is probably rated PG 13 to R

CD looked around the crime scene. Raina had been with her since Nate had gone home early that day. CD wondered what the hell was going on around her. Everything seemed so off. Nate seemed more distant then ever, and the women that CD had the most respect for seemed to be the main suspect in a murder. She looked at the out lined body of DC. Charles Haysbert. She walked to the top of the stairs being careful not to ruin any evidence that might be there. When she got up the stairs she looked at a broken flower base. CD thought to herself, 'There must have been a struggle, and in that struggle he must have fallen down the stairs...well pushed was more like it.'

Raina was questioning some of the neighbors who might have heard something. "So you thought you might have heard screaming last night?"

Mrs. Smith said, "Well yes, I think, but I a not sure. My husband said it was probably nothing, and if it was it were just Mr. and MRS. Haysbert arguing again."


Raina asked, "Did Mr. and Mrs. Haysbert arguing a lot?"

"That must be a rhetorical question." Mrs. Smith said, "The better question would be when did Mr. and Mrs. Haysbert not fight. I mean those two were always fighting, and I don't mean with just there voices either. Many people around here would say he was abusive to her. I just figured she got tired of it, and fought back last night."

"Mrs. Smith do you know for sure that Mr. Haysbert hit his wife? Or is that just gossip?" The old women was no more then a busy body. Raina was hopping that the abuse was just gossip, because if it wasn’t then it looked really bad for Mrs. Haysbert for being the killer. CD came back down the stairs to hear the last part she didn’t like where this was leading either.

“Well, I can’t be certain that he hit her. I never saw it, but it was clear that she was afraid of him.” Mrs. Smith said

CD was about to ask a question when she heard a voice from behind her say; “This isn’t your investigation anymore. It’s the FBI’s Any info that you have collected I want. We wouldn’t want any of the evidence tampered with.”

CD turned to see Carrie standing there, “Excuse me?” CD asked

“Well, You see, your captain is involved up to her eyeballs in all of this, and I wouldn’t want anything to mess with this case. This is a very important case with a lot at stake. Now you wouldn’t want things looking bad for the captain, if they thought that all of you were covering for her.” Carrie said rather smug.

It took all of CD control not to go over there, and slug her. “I would never tamper with any evidence, and for you to think that is beyond absurd. I wouldn’t cover up for our captain, and neither would Raina. You should know more then anyone that the captain would never want ‘ANY’ of her officers to cover for her if she did this, and that is a ‘BIG IF’. CD yelled.

“Well then,” Carrie said, “You wouldn’t mind handing over any evidence, so that our people can look it over. I mean it would be covering both of our a$$es to do this.” Carrie said trying to cover why she was really there. CD saw right though it.

“What kinda promotion are you up for Carrie? Huh? You know I used to respect you. Now you’re nothing more then a money grubbing bitch! You don’t care about the evidence or the captain as long as you look good. This may not be our case anymore, but I am going to still prove that it wasn’t our captain.”

“You can prove she didn’t do it all you want just give me all of the evidence, and I will be out of your hair for now.” Carrie said.

CD smiled smugly at the women, and said, “You want any of the evidence then I guess you are going to have to go down to the police station, and file for all of the evidence that you want.”

Carrie rolled her eyes, “Fine, have it your way.”

CD, and Raina walked out of the house, and to the car, and got in, Raina asked CD, “Can we do that?

CD smiled, and said, “We just did.” They both started laughing, and headed back to The Division.

Kate sat at her desk watching the news. She didn’t think her day could get any worse, but it had. Her name was all over the news. ‘God this couldn’t get any worse’ Kate thought. She turned off the TV and put her hands to her head. She signed, and then her door came swinging open, and there stood Jinny, and Teddy. Kate said, “I don’t remember hearing a knock, or saying come in. Either that, or I have become completely insane in one day.”

Jinny would normally have a comeback, but today was different. She wanted to help her captain as much as she could. After all if, it hadn’t been for her Kate never would have had to sleep with Charles. Jinny felt like she owed Kate this. “I want to help, and so, does Teddy he know ‘EVERYTHING’. He thinks the FBI will try, and blame you for the murder wither you did it or not.

“Teddy you could lose your job over this I don’t want you involved.” Kate said

Teddy looked at her, and said, “To late, I am already involved. Kate you know as well as I do that you are an easy target. The FBI doesn’t care if; they make an entire police department look bad, as long as the FBI looks good.”

Kate knew she had no choice. The FBI was looking for someone to blame, and she was the easiest target. “Okay fine I will let you both help… Now what?”

Two weeks later all of the evidence was gathered. The morgue doctor had found that Charles had had a glass object hit his head, but it was from the fall that he died. The doctor and the FBI were releasing Charles’s body from the Morgue so that this wife and family could have a barrel for him. It was a small barrel with just a group of people Charles’s mom bother, wife and his two daughters from his previous marriage. There was also everyone from the Division there. Charles’s wife sat there with tears running down her face. The on looker’s thought it was because of his death, but it some ways it was relief from all the years of abuse, and suffering he had put her though. ‘Who could blame her?’ She thought They had been married twelve years earlier, and not by her choice. He had blackmailed her as he had done many people in his life. Her one mistake, and he would never let her forget. No one was wise to the abuse that he put her though well, the people close did, and maybe more of her co-workers then she would have liked. He left bruises on her arms and body where no one could see them. She would always cover them up. She fought back sometimes, and did a pretty good job of it, but now there was no evidence of what he did to her, and how he would force himself on her.

The servious was done, and everyone came up to the wife, and kept telling her how sorry they were, and if there was anything they could do. She stood there, and just shock her head in disbelief her husband was dead, and she was probably going to jail for a crime she didn’t commit. The last of the people cleared out, and Jinny came up hugged the women, and said, “Cap if, there is anything I can do let me know. We will prove that you didn’t do this.”


Okay that’s it for now. I want your honest opinions… How was it?

Hmmmf... it's been a while since I posted, I hope people are still reading....Enjoy....

Kate sat in her home. She felt alone, and tired. Then she heard a knock on the door. “Who could that be she though aloud?” She walked to the door. The tears still fresh from crying all day after the funeral. It wasn’t that she missed Charles, but she also didn’t want him dead. The news and the FBI had been crucifying Kate. They hadn’t even had time to get all the evidence tested yet, and they were already saying that she was the main suspect in the murder of her husband. “Hell” She though, The FBI hadn’t even question her yet. Any time they had Teddy had found a way to make it so that they couldn’t talk to her, but Kate knew that at some point the time would come. Kate wiped the tears away, and she opened the door to see Nate there. “What are you doing here?” Kate asked

Nate looked down, and back up at her, “Uhh, Can I come in?” Nate asked

“Of course.” Kate said, opening the door for him. “Can I get you something to drink?”

He said, “Oh, how about a water?”

Kate walked to her kitchen and got Nate a bottle of water, and came back. “So, what did you need Nate?” Kate asked

Nate said, “First I was to apologize for not being at the funeral today.” He thought for a moment, “Uhh something came up.” He lied

“Oh?” Kate said, “That okay don’t worry about it.” Kate hadn’t pushed Nate for an answer for who was blackmailing him since that day in her office. She just hoped that some point he would come to her. And She was hoping that day had come. “Nate, was they’re something else?” She asked

“Well,” he took a sip of his water, and he had started sweating, and his face turned all read. He was so scared and you could tell. “I wanted to tell you who was blackmailing me… but only if, you agree not to tell CD, or at least not right away.” He swallowed hard. He felt as if, he were choking.

Kate knew exactly how he felt. She walked over, and opened a window. It was cold out side, but often times when she thought about the things that Charles had done to her an open widow was the best thing. She walked back, and sat down. “Nate I can promise you that I will do whatever I can to help you. That’s all I can give you right now.” Kate saw the fear, and how ashamed he felt. “I am sorry.” Kate said

Nate said, “That’s okay. I understand.” The cool air was helping him breathe a little easier. He looked at Kate and said, “I don’t know I can do this.”

“Nate you have too!” Kate held out her hand to Nate trying to comfort him.

Nate stood up, and he and gently took his arm away, but yelled, “No I can’t” He started walking away, and Kate grabbed his arm.

“Wait!” He yelled, “Don’t go yet! We have to talk about this! The FBI know!”

Nate looked at the hand on his arm. He hated when someone other then CD touched him, because of what Molly had done to him. He pulled his arm away, and it went up over his head. And He yelled, “Don’t touch me!”

Kate saw his arm above his head and she had a flashback of one of many times that Charles had hit her. She shrieked back, “Don’t hit me! Please don’t hit me!” She put her hands up over her face as to protect herself.

Nate looked at her, he felt awful now. He wasn’t trying to hit her he just was trying to take his arm back. Now Nate realized that he has something in common with Kate, and now he knew that he had to help her. He held her in his arms, and said, “I am so sorry. I wasn’t trying to hit you. I was just trying to pull away.”

Kate fell apart in Nate’s arms. She cried there for long time. When she had finely calmed down she pulled away embraced, because she thought he would really hit her. Witch now she knew he wouldn’t. She said, “No… I am sorry. I shouldn’t have fallen apart like that. I should have known you would hit me. I just had a flashback is all. I thought you were Charles.”

“It’s okay don’t worry about it.” He once again put his head down in shame. He knew now exactly how she felt. He also knew that now he had to do this for her If, for no one else. “

Kate some how pulled herself together, and she saw how Nate was feeling. She took her hand, and put it on his chin, and gently had him look her in the eyes. “Nate you have nothing to feel ashamed of. You were tricked into this. You didn’t do anything wrong. You never should have been blackmailed.”

Nate looked at her… Somehow the hand on his chin made him feel more relaxed. He knew now why CD had so much respect for her. She was a very strong lady, even if, she was going though a rough time at the moment. “Do you know that I killed a kid with the drugs that I was selling at the time?”

Kate removed her hand, and, said, “Yes, I know what happened. Nate you’re not the reason why the kid died. It was a mistake. You never should have been blackmailed they way you were. Talk to me, tell me who was blackmailing you?”

Nate said, “I don’t know if, I can. It’s to hard.”

Kate sighed and shut her eyes, and took a deep breath. “Nate.” She said, “You tell me who was blackmailing you, and that will be the end. Who is she gonna go to? Charles is dead, and I assume that was the person who was blackmailing her to sleep with him.”

Nate had come to that same conclusion that night that it was Charles who had blackmailed his ex-wife. Now all he had to do was tell her. He had never said these words out loud before, so it was gonna be hard. He was trying to fight off the tears, now wasn’t the time for them. He looked at Kate, and he sniffed. Nate said, “I kinda thought that Charles was the guy blackmailing her too, but I don’t know. She would never tell me no matter how much I argued with her. I mean did Charles have any one else working for him?”

Kate looked down. She took in a deep breath, “ There were some people that I am aware of. Some of them worked for him and got a lot of money too, and some of them where blackmailed into working for him.” Kate said, “Look tell who she is?”

“You have to promise me she won’t get into any trouble. Look she might have blackmailed me, but she was forced into doing so.” Nate Said

Kate nodded her head, “I will do what I can for her.”

Nate knew she would do for her what she could. Nate knew he wasn’t gonna get her to promise him that she wouldn’t tell Nate. “I….uhh..” He blinked back the tears. “It is my ex-wife Molly. She is the one that was blackmailing me. Into…well… you know.” Nate still couldn’t say it. “So, do you think you can help me?”

Kate swallowed, “Nate I will help you I promised.”

Nate wasn’t sure, but he had to ask, “Will you help Molly too?”

Kate wasn’t sure she should say anything about how she was thinking that Molly was the killer, but she knew it was better to get all her cards on the table now. “As long as Molly is guilty of any other crimes, I will help her.” Kate figured if, Nate wanted to ask what crime that may be.

Right away Nate asked, “What crimes would that be?”

Kate looked toward her stairs where Charles had fallen. “Charles death.” Kate said bluntly.

Nate said, “I uhh… Really don’t think she did it. Besides I was with her that night.” Nate looked ashamed again.

Kate asked, “The whole night?”

Nate thought for a moment. “Well…”

“You can tell me Nate.” Kate reassured him. She felt so bad for him he looked so embraced.

“I… was… uhh… with CD earlier that night. Then I got a call from Molly. She wanted me to come over so… Well she uh… had a rule… that well, when ever someone slept with me I had to sleep with her.”

Kate could see his face turn all red. “Nate it’s okay. I am not going to hold anything against you. What about after you slept with her. Did she stay the night with you?”

Nate thought again for a moment, and then said, “No, she left a couple hours later, but Cap I really don’t think she would kill someone.”

Once again point blank Kate asked, “Did you think she would ever blackmail you into sleeping with her?”

Nate looked down, “Uh… No, I didn’t.. Killing is different from blackmailing though.” He tried to argue.

Kate hated doing this to him, but she had too. “Yeah, and how did you feel when you had finely meet CD, and you knew you were in love with her, and your ex-wife kept blackmailing you? Did you ever try to kill her at any time?”

“NO!” Nate shouted, but then realized that that night he had tried to strangle her the night that Charles had been killed. “Sorry I just remembered I did try and kill her. The night that Charles died.” Nate said

Kate said, “Nate I am so sorry, but in any way, has your ex-wife changed in any way in the last year to six months?”

“She had become more bitter.” Nate said realizing that she could have tried to do something to Charles, but he still didn’t think she could kill him. He still asked, “Do you really think she could have killed him?”

Kate looked at Nate, and said, “I could of.” Kate didn’t even blink when she said that.

This time it was Nate’s turn for the question, “Did you kill him?”

Kate said, “I told you no I didn’t.. You can believe what ya want.”

“I believe you.” Nate said, and he did believe her. He asked, “Is that all then?”

Kate looked down, and said, “No. There’s more.” Kate walked over to the to her safe, and pulled out a sheet of paper. “Nate the FBI knows your ex-wife was blackmailing you.”

“WHAT?” Nate yelled, “Then you knew this whole time, and didn’t tell me?”

Kate said, “Nate I didn’t know if, that was true or not… The FBI could have given me this on purpose, just so they could get me to turn over on you. I wouldn’t do that.”

Great!” Nate said, “This is just great! Now what I am I gonna do?”

Kate shock her head “Nate it’s simple I will talk to a few friends of mine. They should be able to clear your name. But I have to worn you. I really think you should tell CD. If, you don’t, and the FBI goes to CD first. She will be very upset at you. She may never forgive you.”

“But you think that if, I tell her, she will understand that I was sleeping with her, and my ex-wife?” Nate asked, not really expecting an answer form her.

Kate said, “I think she will be made yes, but she will also understand that you were blackmailed. It may take her some time to forgive you, but I think she will forgive you.”

Nate said, “I don’t know that I can tell her.”

“Nate?” Kate asked, “Do you love her?”

“Yes,” Nate said

Kate smiled, and patted Nate on the back, “And I know just by looking at her that she loves you. She will forgive you Nate. I don’t think your giving her enough credit.”

Nate looked, down, “I am sorry. I guess your right. I guess she will forgive me in time.”

“Yeah.” Kate smiled again, and Said, “What are you still doing here?”

“What?” Nate asked

“You heard me… What are you still doing here? I would think you would have someone that you love you have to talk to.”

“Right.” Nate said getting up from the couch. “I will see you tomorrow?”

“Most likely.” Kate said, and walked him to the door.”

Kate opened the door for him, and he started to walk out, and He said, “Uh… cap?”

“Yeah?” Kate said

“Thanks… for everything.” Nate said

Kate gave him a quick hug, and said, “Your welcome. Night.”

“Night” Nate said, and then went to his car, and drove off.

Nate walked up to CD’s door, and knocked on it. CD came to the door, in her robe. “Nate I didn’t expect you tonight? What’s going on? Is everything okay?” CD asked

“Not really.” Nate said, “I gotta talk to you.”

Uh, Oh.” CD said, “That’s always bad news.” CD thought he was dumping her. Ever since Charles Haysbert death he hadn’t really been over to see her. So it was her only way of thinking.

Nate thought about what he had just said, and realized that she thought he was breaking up with her. No… He said, I am not breaking up with you. Sorry I gave you that impression.”

“uhh… That’s okay, Uhh, Nate? What going on?” CD asked as she let him in the door.

He sat down on the couch. “I gotta talk to you about something.”

“Well..” CD laughed we have gotten that far. What do you want to talk to me about?”

“It’s a long story, but first can I have a kiss?”

CD was happy to give him whatever he wanted. She kissed with everything she had. It was clear to her, that he needed her support. “Nate whatever it is you can tell me.” She gave him a hug.

“I will it happened a long time ago. This is to hard.” He got up, and walked to the window and stared out it remembering.

CD came up behind him, and put her arms around him, “Nate it’s okay. You can tell me anything? I love you. Do you trust me?” CD asked

“Yes, I trust you..”

“Then you know you can tell me anything.”

“Okay…” Nate said, “But you might be the one to want to break up with me after words.”

CD said with a smile, “It can’t be that bad.”

Nate turned around, and said, “Yeah, it can.” He was looking into her eyes, he knew he could find the peace with in himself to tell her what it was. He started out, “Well…it all happened when I was still doing, and dealing drugs, me and my ex-wife had just gotten our divorce…” Nate went on to tell CD EVERYTHING.” They both sat in silence for a few moments. Nate looked at CD, and said, “CD please I can’t take it if you were upset with me. Tell me you can forgive.”

CD had tears in her eyes. She couldn’t believe any of it. It explained a lot though. Nate was crying as well. CD said, “Nate I…..”

CD had tears in her eyes. She couldn’t believe any of it. It explained a lot though. Nate was crying as well. CD said, “Nate I…..I forgive you.” She said though tears

Nate looked up at her surprised, and said, “You do?”

CD questioned, “How could you think I didn’t forgive you? I mean you know how I went though the same thing when I was a teenager. Well except for the blackmail.” She looked into Nate’s eyes, and he was so sad, and ashamed. She put her hands on his face, and made him look at her cause he was already looking down. “I know you feel ashamed right now, but you shouldn’t. It wasn’t your fault.”

Nate went to argue, “But the little boy that I killed…”

Nate that wasn’t your fault! How were you to know that it was bad drugs?” CD asked

Nate answered, “All drugs are bad.”

CD rolled her eyes, “That’s not the point Nate. YOU know that’s not the point. The point is someone purposely gave you bad drugs to give to that boy so they could blackmail you or your ex-wife.”

This time Nate asked the question, “What makes you think someone purposely gave me bad drugs?”

CD looked at him, “I know because I remember that a lot people around that time were being blamed for things they didn’t do including Jinny, but Cap found a way to save her. I guess she put herself in whatever hell they had planed to do to Jinny to herself. And a lot of police’s jobs had been taken away, but later turned around during a trial, or they had taken some deal or in caps case blackmail was the deal. I am guessing that along with cap you were blackmailed as well as for your deal along with many other police officers.”

Nate looked at her seeing her point. He had been set up. How could he have not known that? That the people behind this were making it up? Why didn’t he question it more? Maybe had he, maybe he wouldn’t have been blackmailed for so long. Maybe he could have saved Cap from going though what she did. “I didn’t see it that way. Why couldn’t I have seen it that way?”

CD smiled at him, “Because you are you. You like to see good in people. Nate that a good thing not a bad one. They used you, and your wife used you. YOU did nothing wrong.”

“Yes, but WHY couldn’t I see though all that?” He asked “Or at least I should have figured it out at some point.”

CD was still smiling at him, and said, “You were to involved, and you felt guilty about the little boy anyway. That’s why.”

He smiled, and hugged her. “Your right. Now what?”

CD raised her eyebrow; “WE deal with it tomorrow?” She said giving him a kiss.

It was a surprise to Nate how he needed to feel her, and to be inside of her. He shock is head yes, and started walking to the bedroom with CD following him. He asked once they got to the bedroom, “Are you ready?”

CD smiled at him, and said, “The better question would be are you ready?”

Nate smiled, everything was new, and he felt more in love with her then he ever did. He let go of everything bad that had happed to him or at least for the moment. “You have no idea how ready I am.”

CD smiled, but she said, “Okay wait one more thing.” She walked over to her window, and asked, “Your phone please?”

Nate asked, “What?”

“You heard me.” Nate was confused but he gave her his phone. CD took it and threw it out the window. Nate went to ask why, but CD started talking before he could ask why CD said, “I don’t want any interrupting us. You are spending the whole night with me, and holding me.”

Nate now understood because of all the times that Molly had called after sex with CD to tell him he ad to go. He smiled, and said, “I like that idea.” They fell onto the bed making love and enjoying them self.

Kate was so tired, but she couldn’t get herself to go up stairs, because of the bad memories. So she lay down on the couch. Yet some how every time she closed her eyes she had memories of what Charles had done to her. God where had all this gone so bad? She thought. She remembered though. It was soon after she had slept with Charles. He had enjoyed it so much… Just the fact that he had control over her. That’s what it was all about. She had withdrawal her name form being DC. That night once again he had forced her into bed, and after words he had told her that all evidence against Jinny would be dropped. Kate just wanted out of there. So she got up, and left. She went home, and relaxed, finely she though, “all of this is over, I can stop sleeping with Charles. She went to work the next day, and their was too much to do so she figured that night she would talk to some of her friends, and see if, she couldn’t get Jinny Exstead as a Inspector. That night she got home and did just that. She knew it would upset Charles, and well for everything that Jinny had been though she deserved it. That next day Kate went into work, and called Jinny into her office. “I have some good news for you. Officer Exstead, or should I say Inspector Exstead?

Jinny jumped up, “Omg YOU are JOKING right?”

Kate had a huge smile, “Nope no Joke.”

This was everything she had hopped for and MORE. Her whole family was pretty much involved in police work. “But what about all that trouble that I had gotten into?”

“It’s all gone Jinny. You can start over with a new slate.”

“Really?” Jinny asked. Kate shock her head yes, “This is great! I can’t wait to start!”

Kate turned serious for a moment, and said, “Don’t let me down ‘Inspector Exstead.”

Jinny smiled, “I won’t Cap I swear.”

It was soon after that that Jinny had left her office. Kate was checking her messages, and had noticed one from Charles; She wasn’t calling him back. NO NOT yet.” IT was too soon.” Kate thought to herself. It was the end of the day and Cap as she had done every other Inspector had gotten Jinny a cake. Everyone was so happy.

CD walked over to Jinny, and gave her a hug, “I am so happy for ya!”

Jinny hugged her back, “Thanks! Hey after this everyone want to go grab a beer?” (Of course this was before Jinny had the drinking problem.) Everyone agreed, and they all started heading out.

Charles Haysbert walked in. “Kate I have to talk to you.”

Kate smiled at Jinny who was ready to till Charles off. Kate could see that, and said, “Don’t worry. Have fun.” Jinny gave her another look and Kate said, “Go! That’s an order.” Jinny walked away even though she was worried about her cap. Kate asked, after everyone left, “So what did you want.”

Charles said, “You ever returned my phone call.”

“Your right, I didn’t.” Kate said, “I didn’t have a reason too. ‘Our Business’ is over!”

Charles walked up to her, and snarled, “Are you sure about that?”

Kate tried to walk back words, but Charles took a step forward every time she took one back words. “Positive.” Kate said becoming a little nervous.

Charles said, “well your wrong! Is a matter of fact I still have evidence against officer Exstead, or wait should I say Inspector?”

“There is no way you can take away her being a Inspector. Besides after everything you put her though she deserves to be an Inspector! And be both know she did nothing wrong!”

“Well that’s not what the evidence says.” Charles said.

Kate glared at him, “You know as well as I do that is all made up information!”

“So maybe I do, but giving the info that I already have she could lose her job.” He smiled, “Could be being the key word there.”

Kate already knew where this was going… He was trying to blackmail her again. “I am not doing this again Charles!” she yelled.

He garbed her arm, and said, “Oh it is happening again. Only this time you aren’t getting out of it.”

Kate yelled, “You are lying! You have no proof!”

He smirked back, and let go of her arm, “I thought you might say that.” He pulled out a peace a folder, and gave it to her.

She knew then that it wasn’t a lie. She read quickly though the report. There was even more evidence against Jinny, and herself. It pretty much just said that Kate had covered up everything. Witch was a lie, but she couldn’t prove it. She knew what would happen now there was nothing more she could do both Jinny and her would lose her job she had to do whatever he wanted her to do, so she could protect Jinny from something she didn’t even do. Kate lowered her head, “What is it you want me to do?” Kate asked

Charles couldn’t wait to see the reaction on her face, “You are going to be married to me, for the rest of your life.”

“WHAT?!” Kate asked, “YOU CAN”T do THIS!”

Charles smiled again, “Oh, but you see I can and have done this.”

Kate asked, “But why?”

“Because, you know I wouldn’t have been able to stand that Miss Exstead is still working her, but now she’s an Inspector.”

Kate cut him off, “But YOU were the one that got rid of that info that would have gotten her in trouble.”

“Yes, but You see Kate, I don’t like you never have. Not only do I think that women shouldn’t have anything to do with the law, but they also shouldn’t be able to be Captains or inspectors. They should be at home taking care of the children.”

Kate was even more confused, “So you are marring me so that, I stay home? What are you afraid of. I have always been to smart for you, and the only way you won is by blackmailing me!”

“Your not smarter then me, you have just had better luck then I. And no I am not making you marry me, because I want you to stay home. It’s so that I can make you do what I want whenever I want. I want every minute you are away from work to be hell. And as far as work goes I know you will make a mistake and when you do you will be fired. Then you will so ashamed and broken, and no one will be there for you. You will be all alone, and the only thing left for you to do will be to kill yourself.”

Kate had to marry him now there was no choice. She had to protect Jinny. And this was the only way she knew how. She knew she could handle Charles, and everything he put her though, or so she thought…
