SOAPnet will be broadcasting a special called 'They Started on Soaps' on August 20th at 11:00PM. Below is more information:

Very few people are born super stars. They start off as coat checkers (Mariah Carey), sandwich store mascots (Brad Pitt), even taxi cab drivers (Robert DeNiro). Some famous movie and primetime stars got their start in daytime television, and many of them are justly proud of their time on the soaps.

On August 20, at 11pm (ET/PT), SOAPnet airs "They Started on Soaps." This special program will showcase the soap beginnings of some of Hollywood's major players. The special will also feature insight from casting directors about their experiences in hiring some of these stars.

On August 20 (11:00 p.m., ET/PT), SOAPnet presents the original one-hour special, They Started on Soaps, featuring these and other actors who started in daytime and then made it big in primetime and movies. Experts, including casting directors and journalists, discuss such actors as Ryan Phillippe, Vivica A. Fox, Susan Sarandon, Calista Flockhart, Marg Helgenberger, Morgan Freeman, Julianne Moore, Vanessa Marcil, Josh Duhamel and Anne Heche and what makes daytime such a great proving ground. Lisa Rinna and Rue McClanahan talk about how good it is to play a bad girl, and Ray Liotta and James Earl Jones prove that nice guys don't always finish last.

I love Susan's acting in Ebbie. She was terrific. She did other movies than that I know, but Ebbie is my favorite with her in it.


Sarah really bloomed out of the soap opera business. She has been in a lot of big screen movies and tv shows.
