I live in Carolina Shores, NC, but was born in Winston-Salem. I am OBSESSED with learning about my family, and would love to recieve an e-mail from you if you have any info on Andy. I was born in Winston Salem myself! I lived in Piolet Mountain. It was refered to as Mt. Piolet on the show and mentioned quite a few times at that! I went to church in Mt Airy, Andy's home town. The reason why Andy Griffith doesn't ever come back to Mt. Airy is because when he was young and went to school here he was made fun of because he came from a very poor family. We have a railroad track in Mt. Airy and all the rich people lived on one side of the tracks and the poor people on the other and Andy lived on the wrong side of the tracks. Have a nice day!
