View Full Version : Board Cliques?
¤Graced¤ 07-20-2003, 01:11 AM Who else feels that there are cliques kind of on the SO message boards. Like there are the popular people who are friends with alot of people and then there are the less popular people who barely ever get replied to and don't know many people. I kind of feel like there is an inner circle... Just a thought

I kind of feel like there is an inner circle... Just a thought I think so. There are a bunch of different cliques/groups/clubs here.
vienna waits 07-20-2003, 01:14 AM yeah there are cliques but none of them seem to be exclusive or anything to me.
BrandonS 07-20-2003, 01:14 AM There probably are.
On the other hand, there are people I'm aware of and like, but rarely reply to because somehow they never post messages I have much to say about. Some of them may think I don't like them, but that's not the case. There could be several explanations why someone doesn't get many replies.

JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 07-20-2003, 01:42 AM I also think there is sort of an "old school" group here that are sort of over looked because of all the new people... (waves at Chris :()

anyways back on topic I DO feel that way but I think you get that in every Message board really (well except for NKU My Friend Ashley knows what I mean about that)

I try not to be cliquey, because when I first came here I felt leftout too.

Yes, you were away for a bit.
Welcome back.
I feel that the board have always been split between the younger posters and the older ones. Heck, it doesn't matter to me what demographic you belong to, as long as we can all live peacefully.
And you agree with everything I say.
;)

;) Hmm.. I dunno, maybe. Yah, I talk to a lot of ones my age, but Im pretty friendly with the "older" ones. I think a lot of it has to do with the group of people who were here way back when, and the ones who are kinda recent.
I agee with TJL. Agree with everything I say, and we'll get along fine. ;) I also agree with JoJoJo. Us old school people have been shat upon by large swarms of newbies. :p
Yes there are a few cliques. Believe me, I've seen them evolve! The first big clique here was the "facts of life" clique, does anyone remember that, or have I been here too long?

But Ive noticed too that lately its like an attack of the newbies.

Sure, I remember the FOL days. Shoot, That was a piece of cake compared to the multitude of cliques that we have to wade through now.

Yeah, I remember. That was back in the day, but I had more fun here then during the FOL days (sigh). I think when I first started posting here I was 15 years old and now I'm 18. I've been around for a long time, but never really posted that much or got to know anybody. I don't think anyone even really notices me, but I still like to hang around and read all of the posts. I miss the good ole days tho (lol)
Hollow 07-20-2003, 02:56 AM The cliques here are stupid. if i was considered to be part of one i'd get pissed. i'm part of the grady bunch but it aint really a clique. anyone can join, you just need to show some grady love :grady:
Chad22 07-20-2003, 03:02 AM I Guess you consider us over at the Happy Days Board a clique. But theirs nothing wrong with that really. Anyone can join us we're not exclusive or anything. I Think some Cliques and Groups only letting certain people come around or talk to them gave it a bad name. Truth is alot of times its just a group of close friends that have alot in common.

Ditto. We just happen to have a really big fan base and have a lot of fun.
laceyinthesky 07-20-2003, 11:28 AM Yeah, these boards definately have cliques. I don't belong to any, though. I haven't really talked to many people on here to know them well enough to consider them close friends instead of acquaintances.

disturbed child 07-20-2003, 06:36 PM I've been here pretty damn long. Yeah, I registered this username August 2001, but I actually registered in June 2001 but under a different username. I came here in June 2001 under the name Sourbabie and was here for awhile. Then I decided to start the Lisa and Family (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?threadid=10138) thread over at The Facts of Life board. Britt and Dana joined in and all hell broke loose. We went totally crazy in that thread and TJ banned us. But he decided to let us come back, so I registered under the name glitterbabie and then I eventually got it changed to disturbed child. Not many people who I was good friends with back then are still around. Out of all of my SO friends and out of all of my online friends, Britt was my very best friend. Then there was Karly and Caitlin. There was also Dana and Jamie and Kaley. The only ones who I ever see around here anymore are Karly and Caitlin. Britt comes here every once in a while. I am surprised at how many new people there are here. I've never even seen half of these people before. I miss the old days on The Division boards with all my friends.

Remember when, god... what was her name? I think Sarah? She was obsessed with Bonnie and all she wanted to do was roleplay and she would post messages that were only like a few words long. I forget her name. She was obsessed with Dixie Carter too and said she was Dixie's daughter. Do you know what I'm talking about? Or am I the only one who remembers that?

Yup, I remember that. I remember I didn't want to be a Queen so they let me be a Goddess instead... lol. We all wreaked havoc on the TD board. We would say or do something and chaos would errupt. We knew how to get a fight started and it was always so much fun to cause trouble over there and sit back and watch everyone b.i.t.c.h at eachother. Such fun.

Yeah, I was still around then. But I didn't post as much. By the way, I'm sorry but I don't recognize you. What's your name? Did you have another username that I may know you by? You sound familiar. I remember seeing your location a long time ago.
Yeah, Laura, that's it! I forget. Ahh, that was some crazy ****.
The TD board seems dead these days. It used to be so busy. There were always people there posting, but now it's not really busy at all. We all were there as fans of the show from the very beginning. That board opened when season 1 was airing. All the people who were there had started watching from the beginning. Where is everyone? Have they all disappeared?

My name's Kayla, but my sn back then used to be NancyMcKeon1987, then it was AliciaKeysForever.
The TD boards are dead lately. And its not even hiatus yet. None of the threads even reach 2 pages anymore. Everyone left, or just lost interest in TD. They shouldn't have, because this is probably the best season yet!

Kayla!!!!! :D
I remember you. It's so great to see you.
That really sucks that people left or lost interesnt. TD just keeps getting better and better. I wish more people were around.

 That clique was a prodigy of it's time. Althought the show lost like 95% of it's fans, me included.
But no, that board is dead now. Beyond dead. A new clique emerged and took it over. Although it still has the most topics ever for a sitcom board (Past 6000).
KerriBerri687 07-20-2003, 10:10 PM aw man i remember the queens...and the slang sistas...and all that funky stuff. i wasnt in either of those groups but i was friends with most of the people in em.

I'm still crazily obsessed with TD Kerri. :p LOL. Okay maybe not crazily but I'm still obsessed. That show helps me get away from it all. I love that show.
Brian Damage 07-20-2003, 10:30 PM I'd say the Cliff Clavin appreciation club is a pretty popular clique, but since I'm the only one in it, I'd be lying.

God, I remember that. She kept PMing me. I hated that girl. She wouldnt leave me the hell alone and then she ended up making a thread to tell me to PM her. I flipped out on her for that. I couldnt take it anymore...

Me either.
There are a lot of cliques here, and whoever tries to tell you otherwise is kidding themselves. Some cliques are more accepting, others aren't. I agree.

I've been here pretty damn long. Ahhh those were the good ol' days.....I totally remember that. I miss Britt...she never posts anymore....*sigh*
Oh and do we all remember Sara....suicide girl. Who came on as her best friend and said Sara killed herself and wrote about me in her suicide note. Yes that was fun.

webuster 07-21-2003, 04:29 PM There are board cliques- I think so anyway, but they are not defined well enough, because this is online, not reality, so it's impossible to point out and name each clique and their members specifically. All I know is I'm not in a clique, I honestly can't remember anyones names here- but I usually remember them by the avatars or ppl that have their obsessions (The Nanny, Golden Girls, Bewitched, the group replay etc) so Ican't really be in a clique if I haven't got to know anyone.
I dunno. I've been a member of these boards for... well... a LONG time. (Middle aged) But I was mostly on the GI board then - talk about a board that's has changed  I didn't really get to know people until last year... or the year before... God, how long have I been a member?
