I would like to share something very sad that I heard today that happened here in Montreal.
A friend told me about it and I was moved to tears. A father, aged 26 years, left his two year old daughter in the car for more than 8 hours, saying he forgot about her!!! Well, she died and he was arrested on criminal charges. How can someone forget his/her own child in a car like that Gosh, I am sad...but also pretty angry about it. :(

That happened 2 or 3 summers ago here. This working couple would alternate taking their toddler to daycare before work. It was the father's turn, and he forget and left the baby in the back seat in the parking lot where he worked.
Hours later, someone saw the baby who had died due to the heat.
It was sad. I didn't follow the story to the end, but I don't think the father had charges filed against him.

That is so sad. Irresponsible people like that shouldn't be allowed to breed. ohno:

Apparently the mother was at work when it happened, and the father was supposed to drive his daughter to daycare and left her in the car. It may have been Toronto, sorry about my possible error, but Toronto is about 6 hours away from here and with everything else that has been happening lately, this was horrifying to hear.

That happens at least twice every year in my town. People these days...It's sickening.

The REALLY sad thing is that it wasnt even on the news here, because it happens so often.

That is entire ignorance- many parents won't let their kids out of their sight or they're worried. I heard about another case recently, I'm not sure if it was in england or US, but a woman working in a DayCare Centre left her kids outside in the car to work- and they died.

Montreal man charged with manslaughter after daughter dies of sunstroke
MONTREAL (CP) -- A man was charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence Friday after his young daughter died of sunstroke.
The two-year-old was forgotten in the back seat of the family car while the man went to work, police said.

The man was released on bail Friday and will return to court in October.
Police said the man accidentally left the girl in her car seat while he went to work on Thursday. When he returned to the car after work, the child was dead.
Police said the man usually dropped the child at her day care centre and then took his wife to work. On Thursday, he dropped off his wife first and since his daughter was asleep, forgot she was in the car.
Autopsy results confirmed the man's version of events, police said.

I hate to hear about that kind of stuff. It makes me just wanna beat some people for being such irresponsible, careless, mindless, awful parents. :mad: I've said it before, and I'll say it again....Children should NEVER have to pay for their parent's ignorance.

That is VERY Sick and disturbing. If and when i ever have Kids (I Hope i do Someday) I Wouldnt leave them in the Car alone PERIOD. Let alone for hours.
